About us
We got our start in real estate, fixing restaurant equipment, lighting, and heaters for our business tenants. After four years, we started taking work as an independent general electrical contractor, and today, do a range of commercial and residential work including panel swaps, electric vehicle chargers, rooftop A/C units, etc. for single-family houses up to apartments, hotels, and strip centers. Our friendly and affordable techs are happy to install a new light over your kitchen table, but we also know our way around restaurants, daycares, and factories: three-phase wiring and motors, variable frequency drives, transformers, machine tools, and low-voltage communication and signaling (e.g. Ethernet). Prior to Shortbar, our owner worked nearly two decades developing software in Silicon Valley, and holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. There isn't much we can't do--we look forward to serving you at Shortbar.
