DESIGNING A HOME CAN BE TRAUMATIC AND THIS WAS THE CASE. THE ARCHITECT DID A GOOD JOB, AND A TIMELY JOB, BUT IN THE END COST MUCH MORE MONEY THAN I ANTICIPATED. THE HOUSE IS SPECTACULAR. TYPICALLY ARCHITECTS COST AROUND 10% FOR SERVICES ALL THE WAY THROUGH CONSTRUCTION AND FINISH SELECTIONS. I STOPPED USING THE ARCHITECT WHEN BUILDING DEPARTMENT APPROVAL WAS OBTAINED BECAUSE OF THE COST INVOLVED.
