RDK Hardwood Floors

Tommy came out to give us an estimate after we had spoken on the phone. He seem to be very knowledgeable and was able to give an estimate quickly. We setup a date for the work to begin and they show up early than I had expected, and that is a good thing in my book.
It took them 5 full days and I end up paying a little more because during the process we added more work to the scope. But the price was excellence compare to what we were getting. They did an amazing job on our house giving the short time frame we had give them. Since we need to move in right after they finish the floor.

Great

The good: work was done on time and for the estimated amount. The bad: they refused to move my fridge and stove to stain/refinish those areas, they left some cherry stain on the maple trim and put the top coat over it. There was dust galore on my shades and wood trim even after they supposedly covered everything. Lastly and most significantly, they did not inform me to leave the floors uncovered to prevent fading. They tried to blame my rugs for "trapping moisture" when clearly the issue was the wood's sensitivity to light. I've since consulted another floor guy who says this should have been clearly communicated as it is critical for cherry wood to be exposed to light for some period before rug placement. I would not use these guys, they are cheap and you get what you pay for.

They were on time, did the job they said they would, charged me exactly what they quoted, and were polite and professional. Tommy was great to work with, very responsive, fast, no hassles, and his team did good work. I would definitely recommend them to others.

After leaving a message on the phone, I received a quick response from the owner who then came out here that afternoon and made an estimate. The morning of the work, when the carpeting was pulled up, we determined that one bedroom had far too much wood that would have had to have been replaced, so we chose to install a new oak floor over that Douglas Fir floor. The other rooms Douglas Fir flooring was refinished. The crew carefully set up plastic sheeting, taping them to the doorways to reduce the dust from the sanding process. Three coats of polyurethane were applied to the beautiful floors; a few small repairs were made to the original flooring. Later, when I had a small problem with some closet doors, two of the workers returned and fixed the problem (which was probably caused by another contractor's incorrect installation of the closet doors!). We could not be more pleased and can not wait until we have this company come back to refinish the living room and dining room floors.

Tommy and his crew were great. They did everything we requested in a very timely manner. Showed up when they said and completed the work with no problems at all.

They did a fantastic job. They were reasonably priced. They were fast and the work was superb. They had to repair some boards and you couldn't even tell - it blended in beautifully. I was very impressed with their work.

Excellent job. Fast estimate, fast start, high quality work. Tommy was not there during the job, but the crew was very professional.

We chose RDK because of the glowing reports on Angie's--and RDK met our expectations and much, much more! Tommy came to the home and gave an estimate, and work began as soon as we were ready. The crew were polite and extremely skilled. The floor is gorgeous. We decided to put on 3 coats of satin polyurethane finish (we have 3 dogs), and had planned to have the house painted after the floor work was completed. Tommy suggested that we wait to have the final floor coat applied until after the painting was complete. This was a wonderful suggestion.

They were great, very professional and thorough in their bid but the reason I did not use them was because I decided I wanted to get pre-finished floors and that was not Rdk's specialty. Although his sales information was very complete.

I chose RDK because of the good reviews on Angie's List, but the quality of their work far exceeded my expectations. The floors are gorgeous! Tommy and his crew were on time, courteous, responsive, neat, and pleasant. Most of all, they are extremely skilled and do truly excellent work. We could not be happier.

After an excellent previous experience with RDK (refinishing stairs and landing) we decided to give them the job of installing a new oak floor in our upstairs rec room. Tommy came out and did an estimate on the weekend. He was very straightforward and the job was explained in detail. He also had a terrific idea for the design of the floor which we liked a lot. As before, his crew was on-time, hard-working, efficient and easy to work with. The floor looks great. Another great experience with this company!

Tommy Truong showed up on time to estimate the job. No missed work waiting for the estimate. It took only a few days to start the work. The guys worked very hard, and took the floor up very quickly. What was one a squeaky floor is now solid and more level. They stained and sanded the floor the same color as the older wood floors. It looks the same to us. They carefully put new molding around the fireplace and it is perfect. We got new registers there also. We had bits of molding around the floors, but the guys put all new in each area with the same rosewood color as the rest of the floors. The first bedroom had a poor refinish job on it. Wavy, irregular color and floor damage, missing wood etc. The second bedroom had been stained/painted yellow and varnished. I thought it was hopeless. Tommy's crew made them look beautiful. A lot of work, but they sanded down to the smallest nook in the closets, and made it all the same. I was not charged for extra floor repair.

Excellent performance. RDK was able to bring a major project to completion after another company had totally messed up the refinishing process (staining and sealing). Tommy Truong was straight forward and honest in his appraisal of the situation. He gave a very fair estimate. His crew was terrific; very flexible, reliable and hard-working.

Overall, I am quite pleased with the job- beautiful floor. I will definitely use them again (dining room). I'll just be a little more diligent next time in over-seeing the clean-up.

RDK Hardwood Floors was great. Prompt, courteous, excellent work for a great price, clean considerate and completed the entire job including all clean up ahead of schedule. We will definitely hire them to do any hardwood floor work in the future plus I have recommended them to friends and co-workers.

They did a wonderful job and the floors look great. They showed up when they said they would, including coming for the estimate; and they finished exactly when they said they would. They managed to not get dust all over the rest of the house and even did the landing at the top of the stairs at no extra charge. They also matched the color to the rest of the floors. I'd love to have them refinish the rest of the house. Considering the condition of the floors, especially having to remove the tar paper, the price was extremely fair.

Tommy and/or his crew was prompt, explained the process clearly, laid tarps on furniture to minimize dust, vented dust outdoors, cleaned up, and rough dusted near area surfaces that could not be covered. Pricing was lowest of two estimates and reasonable for time spent. Final surface was triple coated w/ water-based poly and looks far better. They are willing to work Saturdays.

EXCELLENT WORKMANSHIP AT A VERY GOOD PRICE. RDK FLOORING WAS QUICK AND PROFESSIONAL. THE WORKERS WERE FRIENDLY AND OPEN TO THE CUSTOMERS NEEDS. WORKERS REMOVED ALL UNWANTED MATERIAL.
