From the beginning Mr. Epple disregarded everything that was discussed at the time that the proposal for work was made. Before I knew it, there was paint slapped in every room of the house. Floors not a month old were improperly covered, nor was furniture. Mr. Epple's crew was constantly interrupted by him and ordered to work in a scattershot method, causing errors. But the greatest errors involved any work actually performed by Mr. Epple. Nearly all have to be redone at significant expense. In addition, he was constantly distracted, leaving the premises to purchase one tiny part or another, and would often be gone for hours at a time for no apparent reason. He never presented complete receipts no matter how many times they were demanded. In addition, he increased the price for the job over $2000 although he had already presented a written proposal which subsequent review has determined was too high to begin with. To add to the disaster, he left all of my family's clothing and many valuables outside all day, some lying on the ground, in the blazing sun and overnight in the rain, refusing to cover them with plastic despite repeated requests by his crew to do so. In addition, his faulty ladder and failure to provide adequate protection resulted in significant damage to my new floor and baseboards in nearly every room where he was working. My master bathroom mirror was shattered. Despite being ordered not to do so, he 'repaired' my front door so that it would no longer latch without the deadbolt. More than once he painted elements the colors that pleased him despite instructions to the contrary. This required redoing as well. The final insult to propriety was that he failed to pay his workers, asking them to present me with the bill for their services. I am left with thousands of dollars of losses, a job that is not complete, and the terrible feeling of violation that comes from such treatment.
