He failed to do a thorough job. He seemed more interested in getting more business and future recommendations from our real estate agent than in doing his job correctly. He did not want us to follow him around on the inspection and discouraged us and tried to distract us. Greg refused to let us go up on the roof. Greg failed to inspect the attic and failed to crawl around in the basement crawl space. In the end, all of these areas were discovered to have serious, expensive problems that had to be remedied after the house purchase was completed. We definitely would have benefited and needed to know about the OBVIOUS problems that were later discovered, such as buckets in the attic and rivers of water running through the basement. We have been very angry and upset about his failings as an inspector. In addition, he claimed to have expertise in electrical and roofing, having supposedly worked as a licensed roofer previously. We eventually found major problems with both the electrical and roofing. He was very unknowledgeable about electricity in particular. I asked him whether the knob and tube wiring in the house was active, but he claimed that only a small part of the knob and tube was still in use. This proved to be false, as was later revealed by an electrician. The entire electrical wiring had to be replaced because no insurance company will insure a house with such out-dated electrical work. He even argued with us in front of the real estate agent that it was unnecessary to replace the kbon and tube wiring.
