Rachel was excellent. She was very professional, has deep knowledge and experience and gave us great ideas. We incorporated all of her suggestions and love the way our house has come out. We will be using her again.

I had some vague ideas of what colors I wanted my house painted (dark gray siding and a bright colored front door), but wanted to make sure I selected the right shades of color that did not clash with each other. In addition, it was not at all clear to me what to do with the window trim, door trim, fascia, eaves, and exposed beams. I e-mailed Rachel, and she was able to come out within a couple of days to help me out. Within an hour of talking to me about my preferences, looking at color chips, and walking around the house, she was able to suggest some color schemes that sounded good. There were some details, however, that I was having a hard time visualizing, so she took several photos of the house, and then emailed me photoshopped images of my house with all of the various color schemes that we talked about. This made it much easier to narrow down our final choices, and was also helpful in bringing in my husband in the decision making as he was not able to make it to the meeting. Now that our house has been painted, I love looking at the outside of our house.
What we now particularly love about the house color is the bright color of the trim around our large glass windows in our courtyard. It had never occurred to me to highlight these windows in anyway, but now we just love to peek into the courtyard to get a glimpse of the cheerful windows. Thank you, Rachel!

I'm in the midst of a major remodeling project in my condo (tile, hardwood floors, lighting, window treatments, etc). I hired a painting contractor, and he handed me a humongous fan deck of thousands (maybe 10's of thousands) of color samples and asked me to choose what I wanted. I thought I had an idea of what I wanted, but, after staring at the fan deck, and then making multiple trips to the paint store for sample jars, I ended up with walls with several splotches of different paint colors and no clear direction of what I wanted to do at all.
I went through magazines, books, asked friends, and just became more and more confused. I was nearing my breaking point, and I started to worry that my painting contractor would give up on me and move on to other clients. So, I went online and started looking for color consultants. I found Rachel on Yelp, and emailed her a desperate plea for help on a Friday evening. To my suprise, she got back to me right away.
With her first email, I immediately started to feel better. We exchanged emails (my preferred mode of communication) a few times, and I explained my space, my challenges with it, told her the brand of paint my contractor wanted to work with, and told her my timeline, which is tight. That was Friday night, and she got here that Sunday morning.
We went through each of my rooms one by one, considered the permanent elements in each (furniture, flooring, fixtures, etc), lighting, and the colors to which I am attracted. She was very quick at bringing in some great suggestions - some which I would have never considered on my own, but were wonderful! After figuring out the first (and biggest) room, I felt so much better that I wanted to hug her!
The project is not complete yet, so I'll post a follow-up later, but I'm off to the paint store now to get some new samples with the color scheme she and I came up with. I feel like I know exactly what I want now, and I can't wait to see it all on my walls!
I highly recommend Rachel. . If you're going to spend money on a painting contractor, or spend your own time painting your rooms, talk to someone who knows about color and design. She's well worth it!
