It was reasonable.

It was more than I expected but they were good. They were quick, it was just two of them. I had an issue with two of the lights but they came back and fixed it and made good on their work, they were good. I didn't shop around on the price. The quality was good. They were responsive. They were punctual. If I needed something done I would use them in the future.

They showed up on time. It took them about an hour and they even installed a new light for us. They only charged us for an hour of labor. We had a leak upstairs that ruined our ceiling fan. In taking the old one down we noticed the wiring had no current connected to it. I went looking for the current and was unable to locate it. We messaged Gill's electric to request a quote. About an hour later they responded with the quote and we scheduled with them to come out. They came out the next day on time. When the association fixed the flood damage they screwed something up. Gill's corrected the wiring and had installed the new light within the hour. Everything now works good and I couldn't be happier.

He was absolutely fantastic. Everything went quite smoothly. I'm extremely happy with Gill's Electric. They are very honest and very good people. Extremely fair!

I called them and they came right away. They assessed the problem and fixed it within probably 6 hours. They explained things when I went there.

They handled a very messy situation and did quality work. They disorganized in two phases of the work and cost me more money. One of the guys came in and he was saying who said this and that. They should have communicated better with me. Several months later they did not remember what wires they connected with what and had tested each wire. They are very good electrician, but really fall on certain things. They were responsive when I called them, but not very responsive while on the job and what needed to be done.

Here's the letter I sent to them: I am writing this letter to inform you of my dissatisfaction in the work performed. The original electrician assigned to the job was quick and efficient and performed a near flawless installation of light fixtures in our ceiling despite the difficulty of installing them in a lathe and plaster ceiling with its tendency to crack. However, that electrician was called away due to a death in the family and another electrician was called in. This new electrician’s work was sloppy and unskilled. He was to install six lights. His first light he drilled the wrong size hole, creating a gap too large for the fixture. Another light he hit a stud in the ceiling causing him to move the position of the light, creating another hole too large for the fixture. Another light caused large chunks of plaster to break free from the ceiling, exposing a six inch gap of the lathe. And so on. He assured me that he would patch the holes and fix the damage. These attempts involved him applying some putty and then disappearing for a week without any communication. In order to get him back on site to continue his repairs, I would have to call you guys repeatedly to track him down to schedule a time for him to come on site. The eventual repairs to the ceiling would take four weeks and upon completion are still of poor quality. I will now have to get the entire ceiling redone. I was made aware at the beginning of the job that drilling into a lathe and plaster ceiling could "cause some cracking", and I was okay with that. What I am not okay with is the incompetence of an electrician who knocks holes in my ceiling. On top of this is my irritation at the lack of follow-up from your company about this issue. Be assured that I will be leaving a negative review on Angie’s List for this job and will be giving a negative endorsement of your company to anyone who will listen.

The first time we called them, they came out on time with very little notice. The second time they came out, I felt that there was an attempt to take advantage of me as a woman and as an informed intelligent person. This was a big waste of my time. I would never hire them again.

Gill's responded quickly to provide an estimate when I was in a pinch to find an electrical contractor. However, once I agreed to the proposal, their execution of the work was not "A" level. The electricians assigned to the work were either: more experienced in commercial applications or new to the company and thus were somewhat inexperienced. Three inspections (2 rough and the final) failed because their work didn't meet the requirements under the applicable code. The project manager didn't return calls or emails as quickly as expected (within 24-48 hours). I think Gill's is a respectable company and probably does good work in other cases. But with the specific electricians' lack of expertise and the PM's poor customer service skill, I will try another company if I need future work completed.

Showed up in a timely manner, performed work quickly, and efficiently.

Technician didn't have enough tools and had difficulty reattaching wires at the wall plug. He took his too much time for the job. This increased my cost!

To quote my husband, ''I just had Gill's electric wire up my phone lines. They were quick and thorough. I plan on using them again in the near future for another electrical job.'' Wayne was the gentleman Gill's sent out. He was friendly and professional.

I have been using Gills Electric since about 1970 and find them very professional and punctual. In January I had a problem so I called them to come out, they fixed the problem we thought and then a few months later it happened again so we called again and they came out again to figure out why the problem had recurred. The men spent some time checking things when finally they found the problem and fixed it and since then everything has been fine. The original call cost 100 dollars but the next call there was no charge.

THE REPAIRMAN WAS AN EXPERT IN CHANDELIERS. THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED IN 15 MINUTES.
