ATTIC STAR

Estimator Ron was thorough and courteous in the initial visit to estimate job. The bid was slightly higher than another company I interviewed, but the presentation by Ron convinced me Attic Star would do an outstanding job. The work was performed at the scheduled time by an efficient The job was done and exceed our expectations. A loft in another area was also cleaned expertly. The foreman Sean was polite and gracious. I highly recommend this firm, Attic Star which does attic and air vent cleaning both residential and commercial.

- They said the project would be complete btw 2:30 - 3:30, they were still here at 6:00 - They said they got all the insulation out, but the people who replaced the insulation showed me pictures that proved that was not the case. - They used masking tape on the wallpaper in the room where the access to the attic was, and it ripped the paper off the wall when they removed it. They didn't even tell me about it, and just waited for my response, apparently hoping I wouldn't see it. - They left bunched up duct tape in the driveway and on my sidewalk. - I asked them to discount the replacement of the insulation because of the issues listed above, and they still came in more than $1000 more than their nearest competitor, and that was for R30 rather than R38 (which what we ended up getting for $1000 less)

The people at Attic Stars are eager to please. They installed insulation under our floors throughout the crawlspace, cleaned up traces of an old rodent infestation, and rodent-proofed around the foundation. When I inspected the work the next morning I discovered that we’d had a slight mis-communication about how exactly we’d expected the insulation to be installed; so I called them up to talk about it. They showed up the following day to make it right, and made sure I was happy with the job.

They did a great job! They hauled out 20 years of mouse infested insulation , cleaned , plugged up mouse entry ways, and put in new fiberglass batting. The house smells much cleaner and the attic looks like new. They also replaced some of the batting in the crawl space and plugged up holes so it looks and smells better too.

The work was very professional and all interactions were pleasant.  A crew of a dozen or so men came and did the work in one day, cleaning and vacuuming rate droppings and finding and plugging any entry holes.  There was still evidence of at least one live rat a few days after the work and Ron returned to see if there was anything he could do.  Could not find any entry places.  After about 2 more days evidence of the rat was not to be found anymore.  I am happy to still be rat-free after about a month but I still wonder where that (presumably) last rat went?  We have a one year warrantee so I will not hesitate to call again if there is any bad smell or any evidence of a live critter.

We recently bought a bank owned home that was vacant for several years.  During this time about 20 pigeons took residence in the attic where they proceeded to give birth in many nests scattered across the attic, and lets just say they used the bathroom in very square inch of our 5,000 sq ft. attic.  
We called another attic service and they came out and took an hour and a half to look around. They said they have never seen a job as big as this one.  During this hour and a half they kept asking a ton of questions and going over the same information which was very interrupting to my day with my toddler. After all of that they and gave us a $15,000 estimate!  What!! We said thanks but no thanks to those guys.  
We called Ron and his team with Attic Star and he came out in a day to take a look, and was early for the appointment.  Ron spent about 15 mins in the attic (did I mention the other guys were here for 1 1/2 hours?) and lets just say his estimate was wayyy under 15k for the same job.  Since we booked right then he gave us an additional discount.  Ron also said he had done jobs with rodents and birds much larger than this, which gave me a lot of confidence.  Before he left I asked if he wanted my phone number in case he was running late and he said there was no need because he would be here right on time.  
And he was right on time, actually early.  Before they started they put down floor covering and made sure everything was all set up before I left for work.  My husband went home for lunch to take a look at the progress.  Ron likes for you to check their work periodically. We returned about 4 hours later and they were just finishing up spraying the new installation into the attic.  I actually went up into the attic for the first time to take a look. They packed up everything and there was not a trace that they have ever been here expect for the clean attic.  At one point we considered doing the job ourselves, but with the great cost Attic Star can give you, you won't be saving very much doing it yourself. I would highly recommend Attic Star to anyone who has a crappy job that needs a good cleaning "no pun intended!"

Ron didn?t just give me rough estimate, but went by himself

in the attic, putting on all required protection before he entered the house.

Then he explained in details what he found there and what they are going to

do, also what kind of insulation material is better to use. Then we negotiated

the price and set the most convenient date for us.

Sean with his team arrived 1 hour prior to the set time,

that is was even better because the cleaning took a long time.  He asked me what would be the best way to

install the hoses and after I showed him they put protective plastic liner on

the floor and on the wall to protect them from the debris and scratches.

The cleaning, rodent protection, disinfection and new

insulation took about 10 hours. After that they cleaned thoroughly entire

area from dust and debris leaving my room clean as it was.

Perfect job, very attentive and, nice and professional

people. I would love to use their service in the future. Highly recommend Attic

Star to everyone who needs attic cleaning and insulation installment.

This was a big disappointment. They arrived on time and seemed professional. They used second hand covering for carpets and seemed sloppy so I paid more attention than I would have. The supervisor left the two worker to do all the clean out but the work was done well. Then came time to patch, sanitize and re insulate. The patching seemed well done. The sanitize was spraying bleach water around. Still fine. I counted bags of insulation used to cover the space and determined they used far less than quoted. The square footage they charged me for and the amount of insulation to reach the quoted r factor was far off - about 25% less than the label from Owens Corning. I confronted the crew and at first they said more insulation was coming. Then later they said they needed less than expected but still charged based on the original square footage quoted. Unable to resolve this I was put in touch with the owner/manager who was the most rude business owner I've encountered. Was unapologetic about the quote for far more insulation than used on the job. After telling them I would just have a contractor come and do the correct amount later - they packed up and left. They left a huge mess, a damaged attic door and the next morning found significant paint damage from the hose they used to blow in the insulation. I took photos of the mess left behind in shock that anyone respectable service provider would do this. I would be happy to share photos with anyone considering this vendor. Beware!
