Chim-Chimney Sweep

Very well - professional, courteous, and efficient. Appreciated the drop cloths to protect the floor while they re-coated the inside of the chimney, and did a nice job patching masonry.

Both of the technicians did a good job.

The service person was a little late, but called to let us know.  He inspected the chimney from the roof, and from below. He was conscientious about getting our rug and furniture dirty, and was pretty quick with the whole thing. He gave some advice about how to keep the chimney clean.

Their price was decent but the fellow who came out for our cleaning was a little brusk and rude. He insisted that we pay him on the spot even though his office said they would bill us. I was told to expect the chimney sweep to arrive between 10 and 12, but he arrived at 12.15.

The job went very well.  They are a little pricey.  I would recommend them to someone else.

We were very impressed with their punctuality and cleanliness.  They also didn't try to gouge us and recommend repairing something that didn't need it. It was wonderful to have a chimney cleaning business say, "no, you don't really need to clean this one, it looks fine."  I found this type of integrity so refreshing, we hired them to do the rest of the rental units we have.  They also didn't leave any mess on the renters' white carpets!

They were on time, efficient, and very clean workers.  The fireplace and chimney looked great when they were done. 

A separate exam by a home inspector had told us we had chimney cracks that needed to be repaired...

We were so satisfied with the cleaning service that we called them back to mortar the exterior and interior cracks.  Again...great, prompt work. 

This was the only time they came out, and they showed up when they said they would. There was nothing that stood out that I liked or disliked, but they were fairly confident and did the job quickly and efficiently. I would rate them highly, and I will call them again when I need the work done.

They weren't very friendly.  They showed up and I showed them in.  I was watching them and the guy asked me to give them some space and he asked me to go into the other room.  He then told me a few mintues later and told me that they were not going to take the job because I had a steel roof, and they were worried about bending my roof.   They came in with real bad attitudes and not wanting me to watch them perform the work and then telling me that they were worried about the roof not being strong enough was unprofessional.  I just had my gutters cleaned last week and that crew was on the roof and there were no issues.

They seemed to be good.  They cleaned my chimney fairly quickly.  They noticed a couple of things that I didn’t know about the chimney so I had a specialist come in to double check the cracks that they found outside because it was a new home that I had purchased.  Their price seemed to be competitive.  They did a very good job.  There was a company that came in late and I don’t know if it was them.  They seemed pretty professional.  I would use them again in the future if need be.            

"Thirty year veteran" technician worried us for a few days shortly before the close of escrow on our new house claiming he was cerain there was a manufacturing defect in the fireplace that would have had to be torn down due to safety concerns.  Technican called the fireplace manufacturer and finally found out that the fireplace was fine after causing grave concern about the safety of the home, which we would have not purchased.  Report took longer than more detailed reports from home and pest inspectors.  Technician said his office would call us back with a manufacturer's price on glass door replacement on our specific fireplaces.  Even after two additional requests, we never heard back from them. 

The workers arrived on time and performed the work requested.  The workers seemed to be at odds with each other that day.  However, this did not affect their work.

Everything went well, but had to wait a week for the steel backwall as it was not in stock.

Overall service was good. The chimney cap and installation was much more pricey than expected. Entire job (including sweeping and installing cap was less than 45 minutes).

I was very pleasantly surprised at how hard these guys worked and by how thorough they were. They seemed so intent on getting every bit of gunk out of our ductwork that you'd almost think they were being paid by the ounce of material they removed!

Did a good job of cleaning and performed a complete inspection. Recommended multiple repairs including stainless steel chimney liner and stainless steel rain cap/spark arrestor. But upon further questioning determined chimney was in fair condition and did not have any cracks. Also that existing rain cap was adequate, just somewhat old. From previous experience on many income properties, these recommendations are almost standard. I was pleased with his work and knowledge.
