I do not recommend Aaero Novato. Strongly consider taking your business to a more responsive and professional entity. The rep was at my house for no more than 15 minutes. He seemed knowledgeable and was friendly. I was promised a quote within two days detailing the costs. No quote as of day three, so I followed up. A week later still no quote, no voicemail, no text so I followed up yet again. Frustrated at this point by the lack of urgency, I called to request a refund since they failed to uphold the second half of the transaction. After calling their main office instead of the rep on my final follow up, I was transferred to an unidentified person with no explanation. I assumed it was the original rep. His ambiguous excuse was he is “fighting uphill.” He made it seem that I was wrong for feeling frustrated after I waited to hear back from repeated follow-ups. Regardless of his feelings toward his company’s bureaucracy, I felt his excuse was dishonest and insincere. He hid behind his excuse and made me look as if I was wrong for feeling frustrated. If he had handled my complaint honestly and professionally by explaining that he simply forgot and or that it wasn’t a priority, I would’ve understood and simply asked for the quote and not a refund. Then he hung up on me after he said he would “gladly process my refund.” There was no ownership of the issue. Definitely not worth the $130.00 “diagnostic fee.” However, looking back, he was sure quick at charging me the $130.00. Please process my refund for not providing me a quote as promised. I hold the rep responsible for not owning the mistake and not finishing the job. I am prepared to invest $10K+ and was shopping for quotes. I was prepared to pay $130.00 for a quote but I never received it when promised. I will be taking my investment elsewhere.

We first heard of Aaero Heating and Sheet Metal, Inc. in Novato, CA about 10 years ago when our tenant encountered heating problems with one of our gas furnaces on a multi-zone system in our house in Marin County. Aaero fixed the problem relating to a damper in the distribution ductwork. A few years later when this furnace failed we had our tenant at that time call Aaero to replace the furnace without getting any other bids because we live on the East coast and we did not want the tenant to be waiting without heat for any length of time. We accepted Aaero’s very high estimate because they were ready to complete the installation the next day.
The next time we called Aaero was in November 2013 when our current tenant complained of excessive heat from one of the zones probably due to one motorized damper not closing. I got a call from the Aaero technician, who after inspecting the system told me that one motorized damper was defective, but since the zoning system was “proprietary” he would not be able to get a replacement part. He told me that the only option would be to scrap the existing zoning system and replace it with a new Honeywell system with new controller, 4 new motorized dampers and 2 new thermostats for $3,274.00
After receiving the Aaero bid that stated that “We found failed zone controller. We propose to replace zone controller, (4)-zone dampers and (2)-programmable thermostats with all final connections and miscellaneous materials. $3,274.00” I called the manufacturer of the existing zone control system to find out if we could get a replacement for one motorized damper. The manufacturer, located in New York, indicated that we could pick up a complete motorized damper assembly at their dealer in San Francisco for under $150.00. I spoke to the San Francisco dealer who confirmed that they had the part in stock. After this conversation I decided to call another HVAC contractor in Marin to check out the system. This contractor noticed that one wire had come off a terminal serving the motorized damper. Upon reconnecting the wire, the damper resumed its proper operation. The motorized damper was not faulty and the zone controller was not faulty and there was no reason for Aaero to condemn the existing HVAC system.

It was a real tough job as this was a tight space. I think the sheet metal man that put it in did an exemplary job considering the tight space he had to work in. Plus they offered some rebate from the sheet metal union. I remember it was may be $500 less.

On two occasions, related to home inspections, I have contacted Aaero with questions regarding furnace replacement issues. Each time the company was responsive, thorough and informative. In both cases the original furnace was old and had long been discontinued and replacement parts were unavailable. Aaero was very informative in answering all of my questions and discussing helpful heating alternatives as well. Their valuable input served me greatly. For reasons which extended beyond the furnace, I did not purchase theses properties. But I remain grateful to Aaero Heating and Sheet Metal Co for being available, knowledgable and objective. Should I be needing services in the future, Aaero Heating will get my business.

The office staff were excellent, and made a same-day appointment for me. Kevin made the initial inspection visit during the time the office staff indicated that he would be here, and determined that the draft motor had failed and needed to be replaced. Kevin lubricated the failed motor hoping that it would run until a replacement motor was obtained. It ran for awhile, but failed again that evening--the old motor was shot, but I really appreciate that he tried to keep the house warm 'til the new motor was available! I could tell from his clear explanation of the problem, and understanding of my furnace, that Kevin is a very skilled technician.
I called the office the next morning to let them know that the motor had failed again--they quickly went into action and found a replacement motor. They then called me back and let me know that Kevin was not too far away on another service visit and had the part. They arranged for Kevin to replace it early afternoon. Kevin arrived on time, and professionally, and quickly, replaced the motor, cleaned the flame sensor, and tested the furnace--voila, heat!
I really appreciated the quick and super-professional way that my furnace was repaired--coordination between the technician and the office staff was fantastic. From total lack of heat to a completely repaired furnace in less than a day--amazing. This is a great company!

They found some things wrong with the heating and cooling. They seemed very knowledgeable and competent with what they were doing. They were very polite.

They were wonderful! We called them on a Monday and installed the unit the next day. Although I didn't meet the repair men they were prompt, and did a good job. I would use them again, as well as recommend them.

They never showed up.

THEY WERE ON TIME... (I ACTUALLY RECEIVED A PHONE CALL BEFORE THEY ARRIVED). HE LISTENED TO MY CONCERNS AND ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS... CLEANUP WAS FINE AND HE TOOK AWAY THE DIRTY FILTER... HIS TRUCK AND EQUIPMENT WERE CLEAN AND SEEMED TO BE IN GOOD ORDER. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE...

They were fine. They actually couldn't help me and that was pretty sad. Otherwise, they were average. I can't say they do a great job or bad job because they didn't actually do anything as my item was broken beyond repair. They were very quick to get out, based on that and their prices were better than others in the area I would give them a good rating. In terms of responsiveness, they came quickly, so it was good. They were fine in terms of professionalism. If I need to use, then probably I would use their services in the future again.

They had put in the furnace two or three years ago. They were very prompt and very courteous. They knew as to what they were doing. They did good work. It was not their fault. I had remodeled the kitchen and the heating duct had come off loose from the register. They were very quick. They came out and took care of it. They did a good job and they cleaned up. They left the place in a good shape. Their price was reasonable and competitive. They were a little bit lesser in terms of their pricing than most of the people around here. Their service was very good.

They did it in one day which was nice. I think the price was fair. They were professional, they did everything that I asked for quickly, and I have no complaints. I called them afterwards because I thought the heater was running too much and they came out promptly; they were very responsive when I thought I had a problem. I like that they came quickly because it’s awful to have no heater in the winter. Once I signed the contract and gave them the deposit, they came out the next day to install. They were really good. I look at a couple of places and they had a price that was right around everyone else so they were competitive.

I have been pretty happy with them. They are probably not the cheapest place in town but they are reliable. They do good work and show up when they say they are going to. I need somebody to come and check my system again. I am going to look up to see who else is on the list as I feel their prices are high. I think there are probably cheaper places. I have used them for many years for routine maintenance. Their prices have gone up quite a bit. I am going to shop around a bit. It is likely that, if at all I find somebody who is rated highly in terms of quality and is cheap, I probably would use them again.
