Joel's Custom Painting

In January, I called Joel to get an estimate and he came out when promised, and we walked the house discussing what trim to paint and what to leave white. My color selection was a bold blue and Joel was very helpful in advising me to not go overboard -- that less was more. And he was right. He also suggested that he could power wash the sides and back of the house so that the entire exterior would look fresher without the cost of repainting, which I had him do. He spent a week painting the trim -- there was quite a bit of intricate places -- and charged $1500 including paint/materials and the power wash. Last week I had Joel return to touch up the blue trim, where the window restoration guys had had to scrape a bit and Joel charged $200 to touch up all 15 windows. Joel is a very fine and neat painter. He was punctual, responsible, honest and his follow-through excellent. I am adding Joel to Angie's List for all of these reasons but especially for his honesty and decency. After he finished the touch up, he called apologetically to say he had cracked a window and would come out on the weekend to replace -- which he did at no cost. The truth is that the window already had had a small crack and he had just made the crack bigger. Today, he came out as promised and installed the new glass and I offered to pay for the pane if he installed it. I think we were both happy with that deal.
