They were reasonably priced, they were prompt. They did a great clean up. They performed what they said. Everything about them was good. I got three bids. They were the most responsive to communication and they were the most reasonable. Everyone else was much much higher and they were all certified. They were on time, they were great. I recommended them to someone else recently.

They did a good job under difficult conditions. However after the work was done we had a dispute about responsibility for some ceiling damage. It was minor and could have been resolved easily, but that's not the route the operators chose to take. Professional in the execution of the work. Unprofessional in customer relations.

We met with Mark, the owner, and although he had competitive rates, it was his knowledge of the process that sold us.  His quote to insulate was much more expensive than other companies so we just had them do the removal and used another company for insulation.
We were told the job would be an 8am start on a Thursday and be done same day, and that we would have the "all clear" lab results by 10am the next day.   This was important to us as we have a 5-year-old and wanted to evacuate until we were 100% sure there were no fibers in the air, and on a school night made arrangements to stay with a friend.
After reading about the process and looking over the contract we were concerned about the damage to our house.  My husband called the office and Jason told him in no uncertain terms not to worry, they don't use staples and the crew is very careful.
On the date of service, they showed up 20 mins late and said it would be a 2-day job because we rescheduled several times, which we hadn't.  When we called the office, Jason told us that it was actually delayed because they got a bigger job and they were short crew guys?  Had we known this, we clearly would have rescheduled.  We were then told the "all clear" may have to wait until Monday, which would mean we had to stay out through the weekend.
When the job was finished the next day at 5:30 - there was a lot of chipped paint around all the vents, a scratch on the hardwood floor, mysterious wax like blue scuffs on the floor and in the doorways, and wait for it - staples left in the door frame.  Jason claimed he never said they don't use staples.
In his defense, Mark the owner did his best to field our calls over his vacation and pushed for a verbal "all clear" end of day Friday which we appreciated.  He also personally came out to remove the staples, and removed an 11th hour charge from our bill.
Mark said the job actually took longer because there was some roofing debris up there he didn't see when he did the estimate, and that he actually could have charged us more.  This was something he told us after the fact when he came to the house, several days after the job was completed, so not sure which of the 3 stories was the actual cause of the delay.

It was a week before Christmas 2014 when the furnace broke down and needed to be replaced immediately. Not to mention we had to remove asbestos also.

The heating company recommended ATI and told me they are their first choice. I was told by the heating company it may be difficult to schedule soon enough because of the holiday and because it is always busy during the winter season. Imagine no heat for a month possibly because that could've been easily the earliest the asbestos would be removed. Bad news right?

When the heating company called to make the appointment on December 20th ATI told them they would come on December 23th and do the work. ATI faxed a contract to me on December 22nd and told me they would make my situation a priority because of theholiday season. Their workers drove almost two hours to start at 8:00am and they were on time. They were finished in 3 hours. Very clean and thorough work. Two of the smallest guys I have ever seen but they did "kick a**" work!

The heating company completed the work the next day and we had a warm house ?. Please accept the highest rating from me five out of five stars.

Sincerely
LB

Staff removed the pipe but forgot to cap the hole on the roof something we were told by their team they would do.  They left a big hole open before the one and only rain storm we had.  My husband left several messages with no response.

I followed up on Monday morning and spoke with a gentleman who came off as an owner.  He was very argumentative and dismissive that his staff had left a gaping hole in our roof.  He claimed that the contract showed that they do not do such repairs and I should have known that.  He further implied that my husband was lying when he said he had reached out and left messages and touted the "thousands" of  jobs he done with others "understanding" his position.  Again a another arrogant and sideways dig.

When i addressed this with my husband, he told me that the staff had said they would cap the hole because the removed  pipe was no longer relevant so it was just a function of simply putting the cap in the hole.  When I got home I reviewed the contract and we did not fall into a repairs category.

The same individual I spoke with also spoke to my husband, and continued to argue his point with him until it became clear that he was wrong.

There are many people who provide services and when you are dropping 500 payments for a super basic service, a little courtesy is expected.  The fact that staff forgot to re-place the cap further reduces the overall outcome, but  it gave us a good indication of the managements lack of respect for the client.  Had he been a gentleman about it, we might have a different opinion about staff not following thru.

Mark, the owner, worked hard to make sure that everything that needed to be removed was done properly and in a timely fashion. Dealing with Asbestos in your home can be scary and it is assuring to know that they came in and made sure to take care of everything for us.

They were fantastic! Prompt and courteous. They performed all services in an entire day less than they said they'd take. And when there was a small issue with the subfloor after the bathroom was demo'd, they came back and fixed it! Highly recommended company!

Recommended by all 3 furnace companies from whom quotes were requested.  Their own prices were different, but they knew Alternate Technologies price (all were the same) which turned out to be true (I had feared they minimized cost to encourage my giving them the furnace job, but that wasn't what happened).  A.T. took great care in creating a work site environment safe for their workers and also my tenants.  Sealing ducts into the impacted apartments.  Sealing ducts exiting the bldg.  Hauling away all debris.  Sweeping up the basement so that it was cleaner than when they started.  Work completed when and how they promised.  No add ons.  Passed inspection with no problem.   I know I have 6 more furnaces to go (eventually) and will call them right away. Also, good to know a reliable company to call if other hazards appear in the future.

Mark was professional, quick, and not much of a talker... he was a reasonable price compared to everyone else. Was very honest with me. I actually called him up to see where I could get my ceiling tested for asbestos for cheap, and gave me a reliable place near by. I researched him, and he actually did the same sort of thing for the Rand Corporation (a think tank), so I felt he was pretty legit, not to mention, he was $1000 cheaper than places like AirDuct One. The overall work was pretty straightforward. It wasn't pretty, but that was the job of the painters. If you're looking for acoustic/asbestos removal done the legit way, Mark is your guy.

We started to remove wood paneling from our den. Our house was built in 1945 so we knew there would be some surprise waiting......We found a foor-to-ceiling gray pipe embedded in a corner of the den and boxed off and paneled over. We suspected it was asbestos. A visit from Mr. Torkelson confirmed this. He also found another pipe and asbestos debris all over the attic. Since we planned to remove the ceiling paneling as well, we needed to remove all this asbestos. A crew led by Alex then came, prepared the work areas carefully, and set to work. Imagine our amazement when they removed over 105 large bags full of the original insulation, the broken down pipes, and the detritus of two roofs (rooves?). It was a truly nasty job. Alex then showed us that our ductwork was either full of holes or smashed. We added on to the job the removal of all the ducts and replacement with new flex ducts to code. When the job was finished, the attic was so clean that you could eat lunch up there - only studs and buttonboard remained. Our heater works better than it ever did!

The work crew was punctual, performed the work quickly, were flexible when the schedule needed to be rearranged, and left our place clean. I got bids from 3 different co's before choosing AT and felt they were the most cost effective and was very pleased with the results.

They did such a wonderful job not just with the asbestos removal but with the way they took great care of/respected our property. They made sure all the fixtures they took out were neatly set in our garage (which we just remodeled). Fixtures included hanging lamps, curtains, curtain rods, A/C registers, doors, closet mirror doors (including tracking), even toilet seats! I was concerned about the ceramic tile in the bathroom not being neatly removed. They chiseled it perfectly and flushed to the bottom of the vanity. Keep in mind that when they do the abatement, you cannot be around to check on their progress. We were lucky to have found a professional company to entrust the work to. Alex Mendez, the project supervisor, was great to work with. He reassured me that he would take care of things and he did! We are extremely grateful of how well he managed his crew. He spared the "visual" of a messy job and handed back a house that is now squeaky clean.
