Tempest HVAC Inc

Tempest was selected by American Home Shield. I had paid AHS the $75 service fee. They came out in plain clothes and an unbranded vehicle so I was afraid that they were not from Tempest at first. That was a bit of foreshadowing of things to come. They didn't have proper PPE and wore bandanas which they were very inconsistent with using. They both did not need to enter the house. They didn't respect the 6' rule with social distancing. They said I didn't have a leak in freon but needed 2lbs of it to get the system up. They said I had a code violation with the condenser valves and needed to change them out. They said that AHS does not pay for freon and that I would need to pay for that and that AHS would not cover the valves either. They charged me $260. They said 'in the future just call us and don't go through AHS...we'll take care of you, no worries' which I thought was a very dubious comment to make. I paid them because it was plain hot and I thought AHS would reimburse me. We went through a cool spell and now more than 45 days later the moment we need cool air, nothing but warm air comes out. I called AHS and since 30 days had passed they wanted to charge me another $75. Tempest said 45 days had 'just passed' so they technically CAN'T take care of me.
