I recently purchased four vintage dining room chairs that were in need of some restoration: two of them needed the seats recovered, and the other two needed inserts cut and then recovered. Amado made this a completely painless and gratifying experience. He was able to provide the perfect fabric from his inventory; he fully explained the padding options; and he mentioned the need for slight improvement on the joins. He did an exceptional job on all counts -- the chairs look amazing. He even finished the job sooner than expected, and oiled the wood on the chairs. And the price was, I felt, more than reasonable. His work and his attitude were completely professional. I would recommend him to anyone without a moment's hesitation; the experience was everything that one would want from a service provider, and more.

I called Amado Perez, owner and operator of Sofa Custom Upholstery and asked him to give me an estimate on two small (love seats) sofas.  I took a picture and brought a cushion to his shop and he gave me an estimate which included fabric from his sample selection.  He came to the house. confirmed the price estimate, examined the sofas and loaded them up and took them to the shop.  It took about two and one-half weeks to order the fabric and complete them and deliver them to me.  The result was exceptional??.well worth the price.  They look fantastic, cushions like new.  The attention to detail is obvious.  I am very pleased. Amado is proud of his work, does a great job and is very personable.  He also included four matching decorative pillows and arm covers made with the same fabric.  An unexpected but welcome gift.

He gave us a reasonable estimate. He did excellent work and returned the chairs at the time we wanted. We were very satisfied. He was responsive, told us the work that he was going to do and did it. He got it done on time and the work was very high quality. We went to his place of business because, we wanted to see his samples. He spent as much time as we needed and he explained the details of what he was going to and we were very pleased with his pricing.

He did a great job. Covered top and bottom (wasn't before) so I can flip it now.

Armado is amazing.  My chairs look incredible.  The quality of the workmanship is excellent and the seaming is impeccable.  I wish I had more things that needed to be re-upholstered!

It went well.  He said it would take a certain amount of time to get the fabric I wanted.  It took as long as he said it would, so I was not left hanging.  He is a craftsman, and I recommend him highly.  He's also professional, honest, and ethical.  An outstanding person to do business with.  I had another chair reupholstered.  It turned out beautifully also.

Amando was very professional. He helped me bring my fabric and chairs in from the car. He had everything done ahead of schedule. Also he made a table runner at no charge. Added padding to cushions(not in the contract) for the same price.

I found Amado here on Angie's List.  Called him and he promptly responded, and gave me an idea of his services over the phone.  I went in to show him a photo of the piece, and to pick out the material.  Super nice guy, picked up the loveseat and delivered it back to me when completed.  Turned out beautifully!!  He had to re-do the cushions, and had to create a skirt since the fringe was obsolete.  He also made some matching pillows, and gave me the extra material when done.  Recommended!

Amado was very helpful in advising me about selecting the new fabric and piping for the chairs.  About two weeks was needed to obtain the fabric and another two weeks for the actual work, which was quicker than originally estimated.  The work was completed at the originally agreed price.  The quality is excellent and I am very satisfied.

I would HIGHLY recommend Amado for upholstery work.  I went to his store based on his reviews on Angie's List.  I had an old dining room set and needed the seats to be cushioned and reupholstered.  He was very helpful in choosing an appropriate fabric.  The fabric was ordered and the seats were completed in two weeks.  He also gave me helpful suggestions about how to polish the chairs to remove scratches on them.  It was a pleasure to work with him, and the chair seats are perfect.

Amado helped us pick our materials and helped estimate price for the job. His advice was spot-on and his estimate was actually just a little higher than the final billing. Work was done in a courteous and timely fashion with on-time pick up and delivery whichw as days earlier than he had estimated. My wife and I are very pleased with the final product and the price was accurate and fair. We couldn't recommend him more highly.

I went to his shop, picked out fabric for the reupholster; then he came to the house and picked up the chair exactly when he said he would.  He told me it would take about three weeks, partly to wait for the fabric to arrive.  Three weeks later he told he it was ready, and with my directions, he delivered it to my daughter.  Couldn't have been easier for me.

Amado refinished our dining room chairs, right before Thanksgiving.  He was very helpful and he made a point of getting the job done for us on a timely basis.  And the chairs look great!

Amado was great and I would definitely use his services again.  He had a wide selection of fabrics and helped me make a selection when I asked for his advice.  He finished the work exactly when he said he would.  His shop is small and very customer-service oriented.  It ended up being about $1500 per couch, which seemed a little pricey to me, but I knew my mom had paid quite a bit for them originally and the results were worth it.

It was only through Anjie's List that I met Amado.  He is extremely nice and so easy to work with.  I sat on the floor with my daughter and went through his various fabric books.  I selected and orderded a fabric after taking home several books,  Amado did a wonderful job in recovering my chairs and window bench cushion.  He even made 2 pillows with the extra fabric that was remainging.    I was very pleased.

We brought our chairs and fabric in for an estimate. Amado showed us some of his other work in progress, then looked over our chairs. He then rolled out and measured the fabric we brought along to make sure there was enough. While he did this, he showed us the different way fabric nap can come -- running up the roll or side-to-side (which affects how wide an un-seamed piece can be). He obviously knows his business, likes to share his knowledge, and takes great pride in his work. We left a 50% deposit and left the chairs. He told us the work would take 4-6 weeks, since he was busy, but at very close to four weeks he called to say the chairs were done. They look great, and there was even some fabric left over. We couldn't be happier or recommend his shop more highly.

This upholsterer has an amazing eye for detail. Amado is the owner, and he was very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. He patiently explained our different options and asked a lot of questions so we would get the right finished product. I work in the garment industry, and he is top notch in quality. He also offered to do one cushion so we could test it out, which in the end would have been more work for him, but he really cares about long term working relationships rather than making a quick dollar. He gave us accurate estimates, the job came in exactly at the price he had quoted, and on time. He had other pieces in the shop that he was working on, and there was a lot of pride and exacting execution evident in all of the items I saw. He also builds custom furniture and does repairs. If you need an upholsterer, I recommend him!!
