Prime Hardwood Floors

I know this company by Prime Custom Hardwood Floors. They reached out to me again about refinishing my floors. I declined. Stating I could put new floors in for what it charged. So, I opted to have two very small areas in my floor repaired. It agreed and we scheduled a visit for an estimate - which I would have accepted on the spot. The day it was supposed to come out, I was sent an email stating, hey we can’t fix that. The only way to fix it is to refinish it. Yeah, right…. A handy man can fix it, which is who I should have called in the first place.

Remodeled middle level of house. Of all contractors Prime was far and away the best. I give them A+ in all categories. Floors look new. I highly recommend Prime.

Prime recently refinished the hardwood in our entire 2800 square foot house except for the tiled kitchen and one small carpeted room.  I am extremely satisfied with both the results and the entire process, and recommend them strongly.
Our house was build in 1938 and has the original flooring in most areas, so it was both very beaten up and had already been sanded to within an inch of its life.  We got three bids, one of which was much higher (and did not inspire confidence), and two of which were about the same.  The other bidder was very wary about doing the floors, and also did not get back to us promptly.  David, the owner of Prime, also said that the floors were at their last sanding, but he assured us that they could sand them one more time and said that he would replace the boards as needed in a few areas that were too far gone.  In addition, we had a difficult schedule due to travel plans (this is currently our second home).  David promised to get back to us with a bid later that day, and to do everything he could to meet our schedule.  We got his bid in a few hours, and it was very fair, and his folks worked hard to meet our scheduling needs.
Of course, the most important part is the actual work.  First, his crew was very professional, courteous, and neat.  They took great care prepping the house, and were very easy to be around - which was important since we put our bed in the kitchen and stayed there the entire time.  They took their time - they worked hard, but were always making sure that it was done right - and in particular made sure that they sanded enough but not too much for the old floors.  We had the floors stained as well, and they put three coats of sealant on top.  Finally, after the work was done I noticed three little places where I wanted a bit of touch up.  I called and they were there the next day and cheerfully took care of the punch list.  The house looks beautiful.  Although it is clearly the last time these old floors can be refinished, we are confident that we have at least another 15 or 20 years on them if we treat them well.

Prime was the third of three bids for our flooring job. Our experience with them was excellent overall.  Very professional, highly skilled. The job was completed on time and they cleaned up every night.  Their home office contacts were super responsive. 
Pricing was on the slightly high side but maybe this is what flooring installation costs today.  Actually, they were not that much higher priced than any of the others. I would highly recommend Prime to my friends.  
We used Lumber Liquidators for the flooring itself.  We had literally just completed the job when the s*&tstorm regarding LL and
60 Minutes aired.  LL was quite easy to work with, excellent website, no bad surprises in terms of price. They have made a big effort to stay in touch with their customers about this situation. That being said, I would be very careful about purchasing any Chinese made flooring from them in the future.  I'm assuming they will be on maximum alert to get things right however but I would still check if a US made substitute was available first.

From the beginning, they were on top of everything.  When we discovered what we thought was a pre-existing wood floor in the kitchen, they were prepared to save it and told me what the cost savings would be.  Then, when I decided that it was only a really nice sub-floor, we reverted to the original plan, and they took it all in stride, even though it must have been frustrating for them.

When Prime Hardwood Floors first bid on the job to refinish the floors in two rooms in my 1931 Pasadena home, the rep assured me that the crew would be experienced and able to maintain the character of the unique wood floors. At first I thought the job they did was okay, and I even wrote a good review for them on Yelp.

But I was puzzled that when it came to stains there had been only two options, both of which were significantly lighter than the rest of the wood floors in the home. When I later had another company come in and finish the floors in the rest of the house, it became evident that the stain was all wrong and should have been darker.

I wrote a less than satisfactory review on Angie's List, and I was really surprised when they called me in less than 24 hours. Bottom line, the company was willing to work with me. I'm still trying to figure out a time when they can come back and re-do the two rooms in a stain that matches the rest of the wood flooring in the rest of the house. I wish the job had gone well from the very beginning, but I have to say they have done everything they could to make it right so far.

They showed up on time, were very conscientious about keeping the house as clean and dust-free as possible, and even came to finish the job on a major holiday (4th of July) because they knew we were up against the wall, timewise.

We would highly recommend them. Their whole team -- from the owner who came to do the estimate, to Jonathan who was our customer service manager, to the two gentlemen who did all the hard work on our floors -- were all excellent in their integrity, responsiveness, and quality of work.  A very fair price, too.  We are very grateful, to say the least.

Have not yet retained this provider but I am likely to do so.

They also cleaned a very large carpet down in our den.   They were quick, very efficient, and did a very good job.

The owner,David, came out immediately and gave me an estamate which was very fair.  In fact I was so pleased with the price we had him also install new hardwood floors in our powder room.  David was able to match our exisiting wood perfectly and the job was done by expert craftsmen who were not only nice but very neat and we could not be more happy with the results.
I would recommend this company without reservation!

Our experience with Prime was basically what you dream about when you engage with a service provider. David was punctual, friendly and personal throughout the process. We were buying a house and wanted to redo the original oak floors (which were in seriously rough shape) first thing before moving. Prime worked with our closing date, which moved a couple times on short notice, such that they came in and did the floors the morning after we received the keys to our house. Their ability to be flexible with timing and dates was huge. 
The guys arrived early, around 8am, and worked until 9PM. And the next day, they did it again! The job was supposed to take 4 days, and they did it in 2. Since our moving was contingent on the floors being ready for foot traffic, this was a tremendous win. The results they achieved were completely transformative. They fixed all the issues and gave it a stain and finish that are exactly what we described. For the price, their level of professionalism and the quality of the result are above and beyond.

They were terrific. They were quick, efficient and did a great job. They got the work done in 4 four. They came back and fixed one little thing that I needed fixed. They were very responsive. The price was reasonable. I would recommend them to others.

They did a really great job.  David, was there every morning and checked on the workers.  He was very friendly and was able to find the same wood for the other flooring I needed installed.  He was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions.  I got a very good vibe from him and here you do not usually find good contractors, so I feel luck to have found him.

We contacted Prime Hardwood floors for the project that we had in mind after searching for a contractor for about 3 months.
after getting the estimate from David we decided that he was a good candidate for our project ,David was very professional and new all the types of flooring we were looking for ,showed us samples and colors,we just felt comfortable to go with him so if we had a question there was always a professionalism in his answers.he was very patient with us and   are very happy we chose him for the job.
