Hollywood Refinishing

After getting 8 bids, we made the right choice selecting Hollywood Refinishing. Tarwat and his crews were professional, talented, and timely. The cost was reasonable - not the cheapest, but we could see the quality difference. They were still lower than several others, so it was the perfect balance in our opinion - quality for a reasonable price. Our kitchen is gorgeous, and included lots of design input and ideas from the crews.

The workers arrived on time and cleaned up every day of the job. They were efficient and professional. My kitchen cabinets needed to be refinished and sealed. The stain color was matched perfectly and they ended up better than new. They also painted most of the interior of my house. All of the furniture was moved and put back carefully, and the workmanship was excellent. I was very happy with the work done.

Hollywood Refinishing restored my kitchen cabinets and painted most of the interior of my house. The workers were on time and cleaned up at the end of everyday. They were professional and did beautiful work on both the cabinets and the painting.

The work was all beautifully done and exactly on schedule. You always run into small things you didn't anticipate and Tarwat always made sure those problems were resolved. When they were finished, I asked for estimates on some other work! I highly recommend Hollywood Refinishing.

We ended up not doing the job, in general. It was a very good estimate, he was very thorough, it was just a lot higher than we expected. He was very efficient. We would definitely use them again. We just ended up deciding that it was too much money to do the remodel that we wanted to get done. We're actually now going to be selling our house so we're not going to be doing it, in general, at all.

The entire experience from start to finish was unexpectedly easy! Tarwat was very quick in responding, arrived on time, worked with us on the price, did not ask for money up front and the work performed was excellent. I would highly recommend Hollywood Refinishing!

My wife arrived at the job site at approximately at 9AM waiting for the promised 10:30 am phone call from Hollywood Refinishing. By 10:50 am my hadn't received the promised phone call so she phoned the number for Hollywood Refinishing and the call went directly into their voice mail. She left a message indicating she was waiting for them at the job site. My wife waited at the jobsite until 1PM. Hollywood Refinishing never returned her phone call, nor responded to her via any other method. Hollywood Refinishing essentially "Stood her up" after a 70+ mile drive, after promising to meet with her. I recommend that anyone considering doing business with Hollywood Refinishing think twice, as they can't be trusted to keep their commitments.

Now let me just start off this review by saying that I am a contractor's worst nightmare. This is because I am a perfectionist and will find every little thing that needs to be corrected or altered. That being said Hollywood refinishing, and the owner Tarwat, did not let that phase them. Tarwat was available at every step of the way and was very good responding to texts and emails. We kept our current cabinet frames and had them give us new doors and also a brand-new custom built in pantry. They did a good job of prepping and taping everything off, but just to warn you it is still very dusty during the process, but what construction isn't?



All the doors and drawers (also all new drawers) are all soft close and the cabinet above the fridge is also new, in addition to the pantry which we absolutely love. It has four large pull out drawers on the bottom half of the pantry and one shelf on the top.



Since we both work full time we left a lock box outside for his guys to come in when they needed to work. I felt comfortable having them in my home and they cleaned up after every day of work. Again like I said anytime I needed something adjusted because of my perfectionism, Tarwat had no problem sending his guys back over. I would definitely recommend them!

Tarwat's crew was outstanding!  They arrived on time and did an excellent job!  They were well prepared and worked with my air conditioning crew to coordinate the work schedule.  I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them!

The Hollywood Refinishing team was a pleasure to work with. Tarwat came out for an estimate and gave a very fair price. Work started when promised and took as long as they said it would. We were provided with sample to approve before work started. The crew was on time, very professional and neat. The quality of the work is exceptional. Our kitchen looks brand new. They also installed cabinet handles and pulls. We noticed one issue with the toe kick alignment and it was rectified within 2 hours. We are very pleased with the results and the overall experience. We would not hesitate to use Hollywood Refinishing on our next project. Thank you.

Tarwat and his crew were great from start to finish. Professional and responsive,he was there helping us make decisions and delivering high quality work. We have a beautiful new kitchen! We will soon be re-doing my mother's bath room and we will be calling them again!

This is the second time I have used Hollywood Refinishing and could not be more pleased.  Tarwat Bearany, the owner, is one of the most professional contractors I have ever dealt with.  The pricing is fair and reasonable, excellent communication, and Paul and his crew are incredible!  My old, outdated light maple kitchen cabinets have been transformed into a beautiful mahogany/walnut and look amazing.  The team did a fantastic job from the start beginning with the prep work, ensuring all areas were safely covered, to the final installation of the cabinets and clean up.  The cabinets look as if I spent four times as much and have a warm rich feel to them now.  I am so looking forward to my next project with Hollywood Refinishing -my staircase and hallway cabinets. If you are considering refinishing, refacing, or a whole remodel, I highly recommend Tarwat and his team - they do it all!!

I had a rush job and they pulled it off.  Good communication, on time and for the price quoted. Cabinets looked like new after they completed the job.  My realtor remarked on the quality finish.  I would recommend them.

Old World Quality in a modern era. Attention to detail, color matching, masking and more. These guys are artists in the truest form.
They are uncompromisingly professional, detailed oriented and expert craftsmen. I tasked them with wood kitchen cabinets that were well beyond their, ?Sell By Date.?  Instead of calling it quits and trying to sell me new cabinets, they said they could make it look like new. Voila! The cabinets look better than when they were new. Then, to the bathroom cabinets: Instead of simply, ?touching up,? they masked, sprayed and created a cherry wood work of art. Their prices are reasonable and actually cheap for the time and craftsmanship they perform. I do not believe you could better at any price!
 

Tarwat and his crew were WONDERFUL!!  Always on time, everything clean when they left for the day, communication was excellent, and they were always cheerful and easy to work with.  There was a delay between the initial consultation and the beginning of work because, being extremely particular, it took me a long time to decide on the final color of the finish (it had to go with my stone countertops perfectly!)  Tarwat was very patient and helpful, contributing excellent suggestions; several samples were done and left with me to consider and when I decided they still weren't quite right he arranged for me to go to the shop where they were mixed and, working with the technician there, came up with the perfect custom color and finish (not too shiny, not too dull).  Once my decisions were made, they began work immediately (with one or two breaks due to my schedule - they were very accommodating).  Demo was neat and quick, they did a great job of taping off and covering to keep the rest of the house clean,  prep and repair was equally neat and quick, and the job was finished on time. They were also careful about leaving doors and gates shut so my dog didn't escape.  Throughout the process Tarwat was always available for questions and consultations, returning my calls and texts promptly and coming to the site to check progress or when needed.  Communication with Paul, head of the crew, was very easy.  After the job, as always,  there were a few small things that still needed to be taken care of and they were done quickly and at my convenience.  The kitchen looks BEAUTIFUL!  
I would HIGHLY AND WITHOUT RESERVATION RECOMMED Tarwat and his company, Hollywood Refinishing . We have had a lot of work done on our home over the years and this was by far the best experience we have had.  We were so happy with the process and results that we have requsted estimates for some futher projects.

The floors were in bad shape and they had their work cut out for them. But, there was a missing piece of floor which they put another piece of wood on and it looks terrible, and that is the reason for the C in quality also the owner is moving so I think I would NOT recommend the company again just for that reason.

I received three estimates to resurface my kitchen/bath cabinets and re-do my countertops and backsplash. Hollywood Refinishing matched the pricing of Reborn Cabinets. Great decision to go with Hollywood Refinishing! Tarwat, whom you will deal with throughout the entire process is the greatest. He is personable, flexible and reliable. He returns calls, e-mails and texts right away. For major and costly projects such as kitchen/bath remodels, communications with the contractor is key. My cabinets, countertops and backsplash look fabulous! I highly recommend Hollywood Refinishing. 10 Stars!

Tarwat and his crew are simply great in every way. They are true professionals and know their business inside and out. Tarwat came to our home to assess the cabinetry and give us our options. All of the cabinets in our condo were a golden oak color- very dated. We decided to go with a creamy white color for the kitchen and the rest of the bathroom cabinets were stained a very dark espresso. The process was very smooth. The cabinet doors are all done at their shop in North Hollywood. The trim of course is done in your home. The trim and prep takes 2-3 days as they are very meticulous in taping off everything and covering exsiting furniture. The fumes are strong so plan to stay out of the house the entire day. They use a high quality paint and the finish is very professional. You cannot tell at all that our cabinets were so ugly before. They look brand new. Also, the crew was very professional- on time, polite and did a great job everyday with clean up. All around a great experience and I would definitely reccomend them to others. A+

After reading many good reviews on Angie's List, I was impressed from my very first contact with the owner..  He called me back very quickly after the first message I left.  I had a very good feeling from my first conversation.  The owner came out very quickly to give me an estimate and started the work quickly thereafter.  The artist who did the actual finishing was excellent and totally non-defensive about any requests for changes.
The job was not finished in as timely a manner as I would have preferred, but I believe most of that was due to my changing my mind and the beginning part of the job having to be redone; that seemed to throw them behind and made it difficult to catch up that time.  That said, they were completely cooperative and helpful despite my mistake and spent time and effort helping me figure out the change I wanted.   I believe the final job was beautiful due to the patience, advice, and kindness of the owner.
I should mention that I live fairly far from the business, and I think that made it a bit more difficult for all of us.  That said, both the owner and I have said we would work together again.
I highly recommend Hollywood Refinishing (who I just found out contracts out for other home remodeling).  We are very "picky" and have been dissatisfied with more than our share of contractors - Hollywood Refinishing is one of the good (great) guys!!!!
