The only knowledgeable person was Chris in the office. He never went to personally evaluate this custom job which was not a cookie cutter type of installation. The existing garage door opener was initially thought to be working. However, with the new door installed, the old opener would not work. Therefore, a new opener was installed for a reasonable price. This was probably the most reasonable part of the entire installation. The new door was painted to match the other garage door and wood trim at the factory as suggested by Chris. This was to make the paint last longer and be more durable. However, the paint was splotchy and uneven when the new door was installed. The door had to be repainted twice. Chris stated that this is a common problem, but I had to call him and push him to get it repainted. Throughout the installation and the repainting of the door, Chris was mostly interested in what was easy and convenient for him and his team. The service was much less than satisfactory for the price. I will definitely NOT use Anaheim Door again. This Van Nuys office seems to be very inferior to the Anaheim office.

A gentlemen came out on time to provide a free estimate. I explained that I was looking to repair what I had if possible. If they could not be fixed then give me a price for replacement doors. The salesman replied with a smug response "We are a high-end door company and we make no apologies about it. Replacement doors would be around $3000". He would not provide a price on the spot but said he would get back to me. Three weeks go by and no calls. I guess I was too low class for his business. Instead I will give my $3k to another vendor I found on Angie's List "United Garage Doors".

Sales help was very good. Door opener and operation is excellent. Fabrication and delivery of the door took way too long. Some 20 weeks. Store staff was unresponsive about checking status of order. Door was installed backwards with finished side in. (The door is fabricated with filled nails for the exterior face and exposed staples for the interior face) After haggling with a resistant store manager, a new crew lead by a very competent installer reviewed the installation and confirmed that the door was improperly installed. The crew then used bondo to fill the exposed staples.

THE PROBLEM WAS THEIR FIRST APPOINTMENT AVAILABLE FOR SOMEONE TO COME OUT TO DO THE REPAIRS WAS SIX (6) DAYS AFTER WE CALLED. FORTUNATELY, OUR CARS WERE NOT IN THE GARAGE AT THE TIME OR WE WOULD HAVE HAD REAL ISSUES!!! THEIR WORK WAS GOOD AND REPAIR MAN FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGEABLE....BUT THEY REALLY NEED TO HIRE MORE PEOPLE.

WE PLACED OUR ORDER AND WE WERE ADVISED IT WOULD TAKE 6-8 WEEKS. THEY CAME AND INSTALLED THE DOORS IN ONE DAY. THE INITIAL SALES PERSON WAS GREAT & EXPLAINED WHAT THEY WOULD DO SINCE OUR HOUSE IS OLD & HAD ISSUES. THE TWO THAT INSTALLED THE DOORS WERE POLITE, NEAT, AND DID THE JOB IN ONE DAY. THEIR PRICE COMPARED TO 3 OTHER BIDS WERE GREAT. WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH EVERYTHING.
