Scott & his crew are amazing. My office is a little over 12 x 8 and I use to be the back patio which the original owner enclosed and made it into their dining room. The only hitch is that they did not level the natural slope that is normal for a concrete slab patio. They initially used lino and by the time I bought the house they had carpeted the room. Now that I use the room as an in home office the slope and carpet was not working for me. I searched Angies List and based on the reviews I contacted Olde Tyme - Scott the owner answered the call. I explained the situation and included the hitch - due to the nature of my business the only time I could have the work done was during the Christmas holidays. His water heater had begun to leak so that day while his plumber was replacing his water heater he came over to measure and discuss the procedure. He determined that the floor sloped about 3 1/2 inches on one side and 21/2 inches on the other side. He was very thorough in explaining what the procedure would be to level the floor. The next day he sent me the address of his flooring distributor and that once I picked out my floor he would then provide a bid. I selected my floor and within 48 hours I had my bid. It seemed reasonable and again I was clear that my accepting the bid hinged on his being able to provide the service during the holidays and he was clear that it was not a problem. On December 23 he and his team showed up and after the carpet was taken out they accessed the slope again and Scott set out for the various pieces of MDF and plywood that would be needed while his team began sealing all the doors/windows/cabinets so no dust would intrude. They spent and entire day leveling the floor which was no easy task since it sloped more on one side than the other - it was like a giant jigsaw puzzle. The next day they completed the leveling and installed the laminate flooring. I have two steps into the room which too were not level and they needed to box and level them. To ensure the safety of stepping on these concrete steps, Scott glued actual hardwood to them that had been stained to match the color of the laminate - it is a perfect match. They returned the on 12/27 to complete the steps and to install the molding around the room. The room is a joy to work in and now I no longer have to shim up the legs of my desk and I no longer roll forward into my desk. Scott and his team were amazing!!
