Urban Landscape Design & Construction

We hired Urban based on their design abilities and previous jobs they had done. Urban did do a great design job but they are an extremely unprofessional company who may be good for small jobs but are a disaster on larger. The problems began with the quote when we told them we wanted to spend under $300K and the quote came in at $600K plus. We should have walked away then based on Garrets attitude but we continued. This was followed by Urban not doing an elevation survey which caused problem after problem after problem and changes to the layout without telling us. Garret also decided to completely change the design of the spa without telling us then proceeded to cut through the neighborhood main electric line. From this point on Garret refused to come on sight, refused to call us when we would call him and acted like a child when there was any email communication. At this point Garret threatened us with removing his team from the site if we didn't pay IN ADVANCE which was not in our contract. We had no choice but to concede. IN the end the job took over 1 1/2 years(he told us 4-5 months) and they didn't complete everything including a remote for the spa where we have a pipe sticking out of the ground, the end cover over the pool cover was never secured and flops back and forth if you stand on it, the spa tile fell apart(which they did come and fix when we threatened to take them to court) and now we have chips of concrete coming off the deck because the "ties" under the concrete were too close to the surface. I can go on and on about other issues but Garret never took responsibility for his actions. Urban was simply a nightmare......
