George responded to my request via email and came over to bid on the job. He gave me a figure without measuring the roof. When compared with other bidders his bid was the highest. I waited for a few weeks before deciding to have the work done. George called a couple of times inquiring if I had made a decision. I finally ask him to come back; that he had received several good reviews on Angie's list, and that I might hire him. He promptly came and measured the roof, confirmed his previous bid, but indicated that there may be other costs. I decided to wait until I returned from vacation before starting the job. We signed a contract that had to be modified because of the number of old layers of roofing that needed to be removed. His crew came on a day that I indicated I would not be here. My wife told him to come back the following day. He brought his crew on the date indicated above and completed the job in 1 day.
During the removal of the old roof. Material had fallen into the garage. One of the garage doors was open and when I closed in the following day, it was damaged because of all the gravel deposited on top. The garage was vacuumed, but not well and roof nails have been found on the garage floor. George came to evaluate the damage to the door but indicated that fixing it was not his responsibility.
I think the crew probably did an adequate job, but the project was too expensive. Dealing with George was difficult. I would hope he will honor any problems with leaks if such should occur during the rainy season. However, I would not use his service again.

"This review is not accurate , or honest ! The customer had gotten several bids , I was chosen based on my reputation and price . We came out on the day the customer requested , he asked to come back the following day instead the morning of. We did everything that we were contracted to do . This was quite some time ago, so I really don't remember much about the details. They showed up on time -- it was a painter and someone from the company -- the painter stayed all day and painted the living room (which is a large room with high ceilings). The price was fine, the work was fine, and the painter was nice.

The service went pretty good. They did the work very quickly, in about 4 days. Overall George Parks did a good job and even replaced some wood and primed it for me for no additional cost .

We have been wanting to get a new roof on our old house for a very long time. We checked the list for roofers in our area and conducted interviews with 5 different companies. The quotes were from $9,500 to $14,500 After several rounds of interviews we picked Chris Parks from George Parks Roofing to do the work. What went unnoticed by every single contractor was that the roof had not one, but 3 roofs in total. We still were pleased with Chris and the way he handled that issue. The whole re-roofing process took about 8 days. The crew usually worked from 8:30am til 5 or 6pm every day. Chris was there to check on issues if there were any. The crew did quite a bit of wood repair on the fascia boards due to wood rot in some of the areas. The new skylight had to be a special order and that took about 2 weeks to get and then it was installed the day after it arrived. We just weathered the first heavy rain we've had and there were no leaks anywhere. Hooray for George Parks roofing!

It was a pleasure to work with George Parks and his crew. We wanted our house painted and I thought we needed a new roof. George came out, looked at it and said with a few repairs and touch ups we could get another five years on the roof. The quote for the painting was thorough and very reasonable. They came out on schedule and worked very hard, right through a heat wave. When items came up that were not on the original quote (mostly our requests) he provided a detailed update with no hard sell. The house looks beautiful. We would absolutely use George and his team again.

We are so pleased with the work that was completed on our 1954 stucco home in Long Beach. Chris got back with me within an hour of calling and was able to come by for an estimate. The bid was in line with other companies. We went with him because he was knowledgeable about paints and finishes. We checked out one of the other properties that they painted as well and were impressed. They started within a few days.The job lasted 5 days. ALL CREDIT goes to his crew. Peter,Mike, Miguel,and Silverio, were exceptional. They were respectful and always asked clarification before doing any repair or painting. Communication was not an issue. They were skilled craftsmen repairing stucco and wood damage. They only took lunch breaks and were on time every day. They were patient with the dogs and kids. Everything on the house looks brand new and cohesive. We would use them again in the future but with the quality of the work,we probably won't need to because it will last a long time.

After the excellent roofing repair job done by George Parks Painting & Roofing in October, 2013, we had Chris Parks give us an estimate to paint the house in the spring of 2014. Our home is over 6,000 sq. ft. and it needed not only full re-painting (including the garage doors) but there was considerable wood and window frame deterioration that needed repair. Chris and his team were a pleasure to work with. Chris helped me get through the Homeowner's Assn. approval process very quickly, hand delivering the paint samples to the Architectural Committee and giving them all the details of our project. Once the painting began, under Chris's supervision, his crew took great care to make sure there was no paint over-spray on the pool area or walkways below. Our homes have very small side yards and Chris made sure the neighbor's house was adequately protected from any over-spray as well. His guys spent days sanding and sealing all of my damaged wood window frames and wood door frames before painting them.. They clearly are a very professional company with all the appropriate equipment (scaffolding, ropes, etc) to handle a job as large as mine. Before the end of our job, Chris, my husband and I walked around the house to pick up any minor spots that needed touch-ups and they were taken care of immediately. Chris wanted to be sure we were 100% satisfied before making our final payment. The exterior of my home looks beautiful and I still get compliments from neighbors who pass by.
I can't recommend Chris Parks and George Parks Painting and Roofing enough. If you have been putting off painting your home because it just seems too overwhelming, just call Chris Parks and in no time, your job will be done competently, carefully and most of all professionally. When I am ready for my next interior paint job, I will be calling Chris again for sure. Working with George Parks Painting & Roofing was the best experience we have ever had with any contractor!

I did ask him for a discount at the end for the remainder of work to paint the remainder of the painting of the exterior of the house from the owner and he acted unprofessionally. I would only work with the son again. The cost was a good value.

Chris and his team replaced the roof in a day and a half, including carpentry repairs for deteriorated beams and 1 x 6's. They removed a heavy wall air conditioner and repaired the wall and stucco, along with the other stucco repairs. They painted stucco and trim quickly and well, and after we had a new garage door put in, they painted the molding that the installer had added so that it would match the rest of the exterior trim. There was a wait of about three weeks for the windows to be delivered, but Chris's guys got them in quickly after that. We are very please with their work and the way the house looks now.

After the big rainstorm we found our roof was leaking, which looked to me to be around the HVAC unit. I called George Parks Roofing & Painting and set up a time for a estimate. I met Chris at the property and he took a look at the roof and while there weren't any noticeable leaks, suggested a standard maintenance of resealing all of the vents and flashing on the roof, including around the HVAC unit. He said that usually solves most leak problems - and is the first step before moving the HVAC unit to make more extensive repairs.
He said that if it doesn't solve the leak they come back out a second time (free of charge) to seal again, in case something was missed.
Luckily the first pass seemed to take care of the problem.

The painting part of the job was done well, but the re-roofing was troublesome. When the person in charge came out to see what we needed done, we showed him where the roof had leaked in the past (down the wall where the added room attached to the main house). He said he could fix the flashing at the joint and gave us a quote of $1,000. When the crew came to do the roof repair, they said that the whole roof needed to be redone too and it would cost an additional $1750. We agreed to the additional costs. Two weeks after the work was done we had a heavy rain storm and the roof that they repaired leaked everywhere, not just down the wall but in the middle of the room too. The wood on the ceiling got water marked & the wood on the wall became more water marked. They were prompt in coming to see the damage, but did not come to repair it until I called them again weeks later. When they came they were rude and said that we did not tell them that the leak might be coming from the flashing around the chimney. How were we to know where the leak was originating. We showed them the stains on the wall on the inside of the house, but we are not roofers, so we did not know how it was getting in. They did the repairs, but it has not rained since, so we do not know if the repairs will keep out future rain.

After we inspected the roof further we discovered that the leaking was actually coming from a poorly designed chimney that the customer has been plagued with by problems for many years. We actually came back at no charge and completely disassembled the chimney and re waterproofed it and installed new flashing then put it back together at no charge. The work was done well and at a competitive price. The removal of the old shingles was done quickly and portions of the wood roof that were bad were replaced at no extra charge. As a family owned business, George Parks and his sons explained in detail all that would be done and helped us decide on the type of shingles to use. They checked on us and their crew often during the process to ensure that we were happy with the work. Flashings replacement and caulking and touch up painting were done as needed and the workers kept the mess contained and cleaned up well after the job. George and his sons were professional, knowledgeable and helpful and the roof looks terrific.
