The turbine doesn’t spin and I talked to him and he said there’s nothing more he can do. He said that he installed a new one and that he correctly installed it. I've been out in the yard and looked and looked many times but the turbine won't spin. He told me that my house is lower than my neighbor's, which is why theirs is spinning and mine isn't. They also broke the glass in my chandelier when they were nailing the roof, because of this he took $20.00 off the estimated price, but it was still a lot of work to get it repaired.
Description of Work: I hired them to fix my roof and to change the wind turbine on top of the roof but the turbine doesn’t work.

This is not a accurate description of the work completed on the house and the events that occurred. Everybody we work for loves our work and our quality as can be seen in our positive reviews. We can not control how fast somebody's brand new turbine vent spins its wind driven (Please note the vent has spun each time we have visited the house) The customer hired us to replace (2) excising turbine vents with brand new ones and replace the damaged shingles in that area. We also removed a antenna and replaced the shingles in that area of the roof. As well as re caulked and sealed all the flashings and vent jacks and painted them all with a rust proof paint to match the shingle color. We have made a total of (5) trips to this persons home. The turbines both work correctly and spin just fine and were purchased brand new in box from ABC supply company. She is unhappy because it does not spin as fast as her neighbors. I have explained to her multiple times that i can not control how fast the wind blows or the direction. She also asked me multiple times to speak softer so her nosey neighbors could not here our conversation i found this very bizarre. The work that we completed was done exactly as it should be and the price was very fair. We have been in business 36 years and we have won the Angie's List Super Service Award For 2011. Anybody who has ever owned or operated a small business understands that its near impossible to please everybody 100% of the time. Thanks for taking the time to read both sides of the story :)

Met owners son initially and then George: both cordial and professional. Because I had refinished these doors previously, I considered the bid of $1800.00 a wee-bit high, although not out of range. George and his crew appreciated the important task of matching the stain color of the doors (the interior sides were not reworked) After sanding, the crew took excellent time and staining passes to get the color correct. The doors were then clear-coated twice. The crew took good precautions to protect the glass surfaces during sanding. All in all, an excellent job that took two days. My doors are looking good (and protected) and I won't have to call George again for two years.
Description of Work: This project was refinishing (much needed) three (3) exterior stained wood French patio doors and matching stained wood exterior front door. It was necessary to remove all hardware to complete the work.

The painter was on time and got right to work. The surfaces needed a lot of prep work because of peeling and some wood that was in poor condition. He was very thorough with the sanding and preparation. Then he painted and it looks great. Since then there has been no blistering, peeling, or chipping of the paint. It looks at good as when he did it almost 5 months ago.

I called approximately 2 weeks prior to service, and Daniel responded. He arrived as scheduled to look at the roof, and provided a bid. We discussed options, and he was helpful in suggesting a repair to the leaking portion of the garage roof that did not involve replacing the entire roof (which we could ill afford). Daniel said that his company would tear-off the existing edge metal and replace it with new. I requested that it be painted to match, as the association is very particular about paint colors on the exterior of the property. Daniel assured me it would be painted to match. A few days later, we called the company to accept the bid, and Daniel stopped by and dropped off the official bid, signed by George Parks. We heard nothing from the company for over a week, then on Monday Dec 12th George Parks called to say they would be coming to do the roof that same day at approximately 11:00am. I was a bit surprised because of the short notice, but I said okay. They called at approximately 10:00am to say they would be there closer to 1:00. I mentioned over the phone my concern that the edge metal be painted to match, and Mr. Parks gave me an assurance that "Yes, it is painted white..." I said that white would not be acceptable, and that it needed to be painted to match the color of the existing trim. He asked me if I had a sample, and I said I didn't think I had, and that I was concerned because I didn't think Daniel had picked up a sample either. Before Mr. Parks arrived, I found a gate latch that was painted in the same color of the trim, and I provided him with this sample when he arrived. I also asked him to add in writing on the bid that the edge metal would be painted to match, which he did, and we shook hands to seal the deal. The work was completed during the afternoon, while my husband was at home. The next day, I looked at the garage, and identified that the edge metal had not been replaced with new - the old edge metal had simple been replaced. I told my husband who said that the workers were going to return later that day (Tuesday). Mr. Parks arrived around lunch with a small can of paint and a worker. This is where the experience with the company became unpleasant. My main issue with the company is how they handled the edge metal. In short, 3 different stories were presented to skirt the issue of the bid not being completed in the way it was written. 1. When questioned about the replacement of the edge metal, Mr. Parks first told me that "the edge metal couldn't be used on your garage roof because of the lip of the roof." My response is: your company wrote the bid after examining the roof. You yourself came up and looked at the roof, and re-measured it. If the roof wasn't suitable for the edge metal, why write it into the bid? 2. After I restated my questions and concerns about the edge metal, Mr. Parks offered to discount the price and showed me the receipts for the edge metal. He discounted the job by $100.00, which was more than the value of the receipt (the white edge metal had been billed to him at $56.00 or $58.00 - I don't exactly remember which). My response is: if our roof was unsuitable for edge metal, why did you buy white edge metal in the first place? 3. I persisted in my questions about the edge metal, to which Mr. Parks then observed that the condition of the garage was so poor that when the housing association did its next painting, they would have to remove the termite damaged wood and edge metal anyway. My response is: what happens to our roof and the existing edge metal in the future does not excuse you from fulfilling the bid. Why create a diversion from the matter at hand? 4. Mr. Parks also told me that the bid was up to him to follow or change as needed, depending upon what his workers uncover during the job. My response is: an exclusion clause should be written into the bid - there is none. When I worked for a sheet metal company, a bid was a bid - not something to be followed or not, depending upon the roofer's whim. Now I understand that during a job things may change, but in that case I should have been informed directly, and the bid renegotiated. If the edge metal couldn't be replaced, then re-write the bid at a new price. I agreed to the discounted price (-$100), and wrote Mr. Parks a check. His comments seemed to suggest that I thought I was being somehow deceived, or not getting a fair deal. I told him I had no doubt his workers completed good work, as far as putting a new roof layer down. I'm not sure if I got a fair deal, or not. What I am sure of is that the edge metal was not replaced, and the story around the edge metal changed, and changed, and changed. What I know (from my 7 years in the sheet metal industry) is that it costs more money to paint metal to match - usually it should be powdercoated (to protect form the elements), and a little can of cover-up paint won't do it. What I think is that their company thought white edge metal would do, and when I was adamant that it wasn't acceptable, it was easier and more affordable for them to just reuse the existing edge metal. And, you know, if Mr. Parks had said we didn't include paint to match in the price and that to do so will change the bid, I would have completely understood and talked it through. It was the squirmy story changes that made me feel as if I was being lied to, and that made me question how this company does business, and left me with an unpleasant feeling. At no time was Mr. Parks disrespectful or rude, and he did give me a discount for the work not completed. I think I've written a fair report of what actually happened, and I've stated that I disliked how the change in the job was handled.
Description of Work: A new 1 layer fiberglass base underlayment was installed over the existing garage roof. 4.5 mil rubber modified roofing was installed over the top. The roofing material was sealed, as were the flashings and the joints in the edge metal. The existing edge metal was not replaced with new, as was stated in the bid. The old edge metal was simply reinstalled, and resealed.

This person felt because of her past experience working with sheet metal that qualifies her and validates her "opinions" on roofing. We had purchased $56 dollars worth of flashing that did not need replaced once the roofing started so we credited her $100 for only $56 dollars in metal I felt that was fair since it would not be needed. She also says she didn't know if she received a fair price for the job. She received multiple estimates from other companies so if she felt the price was not fair she would not of hired me. Nobody pays more money for something unless they have to. Also note the roof has not leaked and final product looks beautiful and is a guaranteed job. We just won the" Angie's List Super Service Award for 2011" WE DO NOT CUT CORNERS WE ONLY PROVIDE QUALITY GUARANTEED JOBS SINCE 1976

After the rains started this season I noticed some light leaks when the wind blew hard. I did a little research on Angie's List and liked the feedback and the fact that I could get a coupon for a roof inspection. So I purchased the coupon which they applied to the overall coast and then gave me an extra discount for being an Angie's list member which paid for the membership. I emailed them during the heavy wet season and so there was a little delay, which I totally understand, but from start to finish the whole process probably took 2 weeks which is not bad this time of the year and I told them it was not an emergency. When they did come out on 12/2/11, it took only 4 days over a weekend for them to start. Chris was really nice from the get go and he and his uncle Tom did the job really professionally and told me to call them if I had any problems. We we got through the latest set of rains with flying colors - no leaks. I also liked the fact that they were 3rd generation roofers and painters. To me, roofing is a problematical business. Are you getting a good quality roof? Unless you get a professional roof inspector there is no way to tell. So you just have to trust the professional and go with your gut. One of the things I liked about Chris was he asked me if I wanted to come up on the roof and see the areas that we had a problem with. While I have been on the roof a few times I don't go up anymore since I have balance problems. And Chis said, "Never go on a roof unless you can do it with absolute confidence."
Description of Work: Clean all surfaces of roof. Caulk and seal all vents and moldings. Rust proof and coat all vents. Re-seal skylight area (it is a big skylight). Replace missing shingles. Patch any voids in the shingles. Coat the whole roof with an acrylic coating (couple of coatings They also cleaned the entire roof first and blew all the leaves, etc out of the gutters. Gave me an overall appraisal of the roof saying that it really needs replacing but the treatment should hold it for at least 5 more years, which sounds about right.

Outstanding job! George Parks did a good job estimating the job with accurate measurements and quality suggestions. The front of our house is much improved thanks to George's suggestions on fixing the area above the garage doors. The job was completed in about one week. The debris was carted away and the area was cleaned up promptly.
Description of Work: Remove and replace the back portion of the roof. Removed all facia board around the house. The facia board had dry rot and other damage. Installed new primed 2 x 10 rough sawed facia grade lumber. Installed new gutters and spouts. Removed old decorative wood on front of house (above garage). The wood was cracked and had some dry rot. The area was then refinished so that stucco could be applied. Stucco on the house was inspected and all cracks were repaired. The house was then completely painted in one color while the facia board and trim was painted in a differant contrasting color.

We had an old composition shingle roof with three layers and a large wood patio overhang that was rotted. George Parks Roofing performed the teardown of the overhang, which left us with the need to rebuild the eaves and fascia along the entire back side of the house. They did this work along with the roof, which is approximately just over 1200 sq ft. They started on a Thursday morning and were completely done by Friday mid-afternoon--less than 2 days from start to finish. They worked quickly and efficiently and the entire crew was punctual and professional. Project foreman Chris Parks was exceptionally professional, honest and fair. He listened to specific requests, understanding our concerns for ensuring that other aspects of our home such as the rain gutter system, exterior paint, etc. remained in good condition, avoiding damage by the roof work that was performed and accommodated us to the best of his capabilities. He paid particular attention to details such as accurate measurements of the roof to ensure that the right amount of material was purchased and delivered on time to avoid any logistical problems and interruptions to the workflow so that the job could be completed within the quoted timeframe. He personally oversaw all aspects of the project turnkey and returned the next business day to perform touchups - patch and paint - to the eaves and stucco that needed repair. Once touchups were completed, he also oversaw all final trash removal, including nails and other debris that resulted from the roof teardown. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the integrity of the company, its professional and practical approach to doing business, the excellent workmanship and accountability. We interviewed several companies that attempted to upsell unnecessary services and were more concerned with doing dog and pony shows to close the sale at grossly inflated prices. We chose George Parks Roofing because they came in at a comparatively low bid to some of the other predatory companies, and George Parks pricing was truly right-sized for the job and for the house. They use high quality materials and their openness and willingness to educate and collaborate with us on the process was not only reassuring but well appreciated.
Description of Work: Teardown of large wood patio overhang with shingled roof. Size, approx. 400 sq ft. Rebuild eaves along entire backside of house, patch and paint. Teardown of 3 layers of old composition shingle roof for 1200 square foot home. Installed new plywood sheeting across entire roof and new composition shingle.

We bought the ANGIES LIST Deal for gutter cleaning and had them come out to take a look. They told us that the BIG DEAL would not apply because we had a steep roof so we would need to cancel the deal with Angies List and pay more directly to them if we wanted the work done. We agreed and said we needed a few additional things done (like ridge caps) so were ok with a quote for more $. About two weeks after receiving the quote I emailed them to schedule and heard nothing back. I then wrote again a couple of weeks later. Someone got back to me a couple of weeks after that saying they were having a family emergency and they would get back to me. Almost a MONTH after that I received an email saying they could schedule a time to begin. I then emailed them with a few other items I would want done while they were on the roof (adding a weathervane to the house, dropping a cable for a cell antenna).I got several calls a few days later about them wanting to discuss the job. I emailed back that my cell doesn't work well up on our hill and that email was the best way to talk. They emailed that they wanted a copy of their original quote as they had apparently lost that so I emailed them their quote back. The following morning someone from George Parks knocked on my door. Apparently one of George Parks sons was in the neighborhood so he just dropped by to 'pick up a deposit and schedule the work' - he informed me in between standing with his back to me talking on his cell phone. By the way he also needed a copy of the quote. Apparently the email I sent yesterday had gone to his 'knucklehead brother' who had managed to somehow also misplace it - his words. He then wanted a deposit from me to come back to do the work. I told him that since I had been playing phone tag with them for months and since I had already paid $200 for the BIG DEAL I didn't want to prepay anything else but since it was one day of work I would be happy to pay them on completion. He then said 'well maybe you should just find someone else to do this since we are obviously going to have a conflict.' I said 'Fine.' He then started to lie to me and told me that the state of California REQUIRES him to collect 10% to start work. That is not true. The state of California ALLOWS HIM A MAXIMUM of 10% up front to start work. In theory, as we had already paid $200 via Angies List on a $1400 quote we were way over that. I told him I found his behavior unacceptable and I was going to write it up on ANGIES LIST. At this point, he got bright red and started pointing his finger at me and telling me he has a lawyer in Huntington Beach that would sue me if I said anything. I basically told him where he could stick his lawyer. I would stay FAR away from this guy. Maybe his dad is reputable, I don't know. I see that there are MULTIPLE listings for GEORGE PARKS ROOFING on Angies List so assume the family is operating multiple enterprisers. I know that this is the GEORGE PARKS ROOFING that was selling the bid deals so this particular part of the enterprize is definitely shady and should be avoided. UPDATE: The response to this review from the provider is complete hogwash. Here are detailed notes - - "I came out to the member's home "I did NOT drop in" as Suggested but came out at the time the member requested." NOT TRUE - He said he was in the area so decided to drop by. We did not have any appointment. - "He also states he paid for a "$199 Big Deal Coupon" This is also not true as he had already received a full refund due to the fact it did not apply" NOT TRUE - I did buy the Big Deal Coupon. I then requested a refund as the job was not done. - "He states "I figured I buy that coupon, It was worth try I might have got the whole roof fixed for a couple hundred bucks"" NOT TRUE - We requested that they come out and give us a revised estimate on the total job. My wife met with them and did get a revised estimate which we were going to accept prior to this meeting. - "The member Exploded on me. He used words like " F*CK YOU! ARE YOU F*CKING SERIOUS?" To be honest I was Shocked . He told me that he didn't need to give Me a deposit F*ck you ! I was as the member put it red but I think it would be Fair to say I was flushed ! And I told him to " please get some one else WE can Not help you" ! I'm a professional and at no point did i raise my voice or use Profanity . The member responded to me by saying "GET THE F*CK OUT OF HEAR ! F*CK YOU YOU F*CK? I'M going to tell ANGIES LIST!!! I'LL BURY YOU IN THE GROUND YOU WAIT AND SEE. The member was verbally abusive with me threatened me because I Wouldn't do extra things we were not contracted to do? NOT TRUE and PRETTY RIDICULOUS - When he lied to me about the state requiring that he take a deposit I asked him to leave. When he was leaving I told him I was going to write this up on Angies List. He then exploded and threatened to sue me. If you read his response it is pretty obvious he is lying. Why would I bully a contractor into taking a job? There are hundreds of them out there and they all want work. We had our roofing job done the next week by an experienced contractor for $800 and they only asked to get paid when they finished the job. As far as all that weird profanity, a quote for $1800 , or any of the other random stuff this guy made up, I have no idea what he is talking about.

On October-12-2011 I came out to the member's home "I did NOT drop in" as Suggested but came out at the time the member requested. He seemed and looked Visible agitated upon my arrival? I told the member that we needed to make out a Basic "work order" "contract" Stating to materials to be used and the price. And we do as all contractors need to get a 10% deposit as dictated by the CA STATE LIC BOARD. He also states he paid for a "$199 Big Deal Coupon" This is also not true as he had already received a full refund due to the fact it did not apply To his roof because of the extensive repairs and pitch of his A frame roof. He also said " I figured I buy that coupon, It was worth try I might have got the whole roof fixed for a couple hundred bucks" the member wanted to add something to the work order , a weather vain, I politely told him that we would need to Make sure it was properly grounded , and he wanted us to do some wiring ? Two Things that we are not licensed to do. My response was a polite " I do not Think we can do that, sorry ". We can do the work you contacted me to do , lets sit down and make out the work order and please make your deposit out to GEORGE PARKS ROOFING so I can get you scheduled. The member Exploded on me. it went very well, I had other roof companys come in and tell me they had to break into my ceiling to find the leak, george told me right away where the leak was probably coming from without tearing into my kitchen ceiling, his son arrived on the assighne d ay and completed the work, very guick and professional, I would recommend them for any roofing problem.

George came out and gave me a fair estimate. It wasn't the lowest, but I was swayed by the good reports, and rightly so. Once I accepted the bid, the work started in a little over a week. The 5 workers first prepped and sanded the exterior. They covered everything but the trim and then (I think) sprayed the paint on. They worked next on the upstairs rooms, doing a fantastic job with some weather-damaged windows, and leaving all of the wood gleaming. When the crew moved downstairs, they seemed to power through, perhaps being a little less thorough, though everything looks very nice. On the 8th day, George stopped by to say the work would be done within hours, which surprised me, given the time it took to finish the upstairs. By the end of the day, the crew seemed to be scrambling to finish, and the front door still needed a lot of attention. I certainly didn't want to keep these hard-working guys late on a Saturday evening, but I did want my door to look as nice as everything else. I asked that someone return after the weekend and finish, even though I had already given my final payment. True to their word, they were back on Monday, and worked hard to get the door looking right. By that time, I had noticed that the kitchen ceiling wasn't the same white as the adjoining room, which left an odd-looking line. Within a few days, 2 workers were back to repaint both ceilings in a finish that would work in both a kitchen and a den. It was so refreshing to deal with a company that stands behind their work. Now my house looks fantastic.
Description of Work: All exterior trim on my house and garage was painted, including a wrought iron fence. Inside, almost all walls and ceilings were painted. Wood molding, windows, baseboards and doors were sanded, stained where necessary, and given a coat of polyurethane.

We had numerous issues with how the work was done, as well has how George responded to our concerns, and would not hire him again. Most of his workers spoke no English at all, and the foreman only spoke limited English, making communication difficult. When we had a disagreement over how some of the work was being done, George raised his voice over the phone and threatened to quit the job. He was supposed to come over in person to resolve the matter, but never showed up and just had his men continue the work. The first thing they did was power wash the house, which didn't make much sense to me since they would need to tear down the existing siding and re-stucco before painting, both of which would generate a lot of dust and rubbish. When removing the old wood siding, they left the old tar paper, now torn and ragged, in place, making it hard to see the studs. My husband pointed out that one of the studs that was visible was ridden with old terminate damage and bought a 2x4 for them to replace it. They put up combination chicken wire / tar paper over the old stuff and stuccoed before I could inspect it. However, on one corner of the wall they hadn't completed, I noticed the tar paper was underlapped, which is improper installation. I asked them to fix this and they said they would, but I suspect the rest of the tar paper that was already stuccoed over had the same problem. Later, I was able to see from the inside of my unfinished garage, that the tar paper was punctured in places. We were expecting the brick veneer to be thin cut brick facade affixed to a backer board, much like what is done with faux rock siding. However, this was not stated in the contract. What they actually did was build a free-standing brick wall in front of the wood framing, which is okay except it means the wall (which is not attached to the house slab) moves separately from the house in the event of settling or earthquakes. This could cause the wall to crack or fall. In fact, the pre-existing concreting footing they used for one side of the wall base was already unstable. Although George agreed to re-pour the unstable footing, he told us not to worry about the construction technique and and insisted the approach we were advocating (thin brick attached to backer board) wouldn't look right and he refused to do it. Given our concerns, we inquired with the city building office if a permit was required for this work, and indeed it was. When I told George of this, he became upset and threatened to quit. The workers eventually finished the brick veneer, but I noticed a couple of other problems. The tar paper backing had not been extended over the sill plate (in fact, it stopped just short of the top of it), meaning moisture can weep into the wall. George was dismissive of this concern and said that wouldn't be a problem in a dry place like California. I also pointed out one of the walls was missing a weep hole, which they did end up addressing (although it probably doesn't matter, as any moisture will likely drip into my wall before finding its way to the weep hole). The garage motion lights attached to the brick were installed with exposed wirenuts. When my husband brought this up to George he said ?I'm not an electrician? and said we should hire one. The foreman eventually agreed to cover them with the old junction boxes, which were not a good fit and haphazardly affixed, but better than nothing. The painters sprayed the first coat without having done any prep work on the wood (trim, facia, and eves). I don't know if they primed any of the new stucco siding, but they almost certainly didn't prime the repaired stucco because it was applied and painted the same day (which means it wasn't properly dried). My husband spoke to the foreman about the lack of prep work, and he assured him they were going to do it (despite the fact they'd already painted over flaking paint in some places). My husband inspected the work when they were done scraping and had them revisit various spots and pointed out places to caulk and patch (he was out there with them doing it together). They just ended up painting directly over these areas, and didn't prime first as they should have. My husband ended up doing quite a bit of touch up work after the fact where they had painted over flaking paint. Also, they didn't cover the wire screen vents on the garage when they sprayed, so our lawn mower (which was on the other side) ended but getting a nice streak of paint. The replacement concrete tiles appeared to be used. My husband had to send the guys back up on the roof twice to finally address all the broken tiles he could spot. Each time he marked the broken ones on paper for them, so there really was no excuse. The crew did not clean up adequately. They left behind their trash, pieces of tile, nails, gravel, sand, and even broken glass from the light bulb they broke. Another thing that bothered me is that George asked for half the money when the work began, which seems excessive. Perhaps that's what made him comfortable threatening to quit the job when we raised issues; I know we certainly had less leverage because of it.
Description of Work: We had the following work done: Exterior house painting (including power wash, sanding/scraping, priming, stucco repair) Wood siding around garage and entry way replaced with stucco Brick veneer applied to the front of the garage Repair of numerous broken concrete roof tiles

First off i would like to address all of the issues that were wrote in this review. Many of the the things this customer wrote are misleading or flat out not true. If any potential customers have any doubt or questions or concerns about our quality of work please take moment to read our other reviews. Our #1 goal is quality of work, We spare no expense and cut no corners as our other reviews will prove. 1.Our workers DO speak english and all have cell phones and have worked for my company for the past 12 years i speak no spanish so it would not be impossible to speak with them if they did not speak good english 2.The house NEEDED to be powerwashed as the surface of the wood was dirty and needed to be prepared. We can not paint over dirt and peeling paint/debrii that would be incorrect 3.We let the home owner choose the type of brick that would be installed and provided her with samples, after she had made her selection we explained in detail what we were doing and she also agreed. If she did not like it she could have said so when the first brick was layed but she did not. At any point we could have made changes before the brick facade was completed but she said nothing. 3.She also does not mention we completed this brick work at our cost as a favor to her because we were painting the exterior of the house already. there was no profit in the job once the materials and labor was paid. She also does not mention that we installed a piece of sidewalk for her FREE of charge 4.She also said i asked for half the money once we started the job this is also NOT true. We do as the state of CA advises for payment 10% deposit once the contract is signed 40% progress payment once the work starts and 50% final payment when the work is complete 5.She also says we did not properly prime the house this is also NOT true. I can provide bills were i purchased the primer for the job. 6.She says we used old tiles when replaceing the cracked ones this is also NOT true i can provide a bill from the roofing supply were i purchased them 7.The main issue we had when working for this person. From the time we started working the customer wanted to come and stop us and explain how they thought the work should be done and she would explain to me how her friends would have done it or how some other person or how she could find something online ect...We have been doing this type of work for over 36 years and our reputation as a company and for quality of work sets us apart from many. If a home owner requests for us to do a job and signs a contract. We cant just change things half way in the job and use some other persons work methods or technics to complete a job. When a customer says for example...... "My Uncle Did Some Roofing When He Was In Collage.. And He Says He Would Install Those Shingles And That Flashing This Partiular Way" or "My Neighbor Is A Plumber And He Thinks You Should Paint My House This Particular Way" I hope after reading this all my potential customers will see my side of the story and if anybody would like to see photos of this project we can provide them as the finished product looked beautifull...And to the home owner i am sorry if its not what you expected let us know what we can do to make you happy.

I got a whole day of painting from this company under an Angie's List big deal. It was well worth it. They did a great job. They were on time and very professional. The bathroom needed a lot of prep work before the painting, which this company did willingly. All in all, a fine job.

i had neglected my 1920's spanish house for over 17 years, so much so that i was completely overwhelmed at starting the desperately-needed renovations - a new roof and exterior paint job. i had finally gathered a bit of money to do the required work and got many estimates, among them, chris, george's son, from 'george parks roofing and painting'. i am a very particular person, and this team passed my tests with flying colors. chris and his company and crew were simply incredible. sure, do your homework - then hire chris and this company. his paint captain, enrique (also known as henry) = amazing. his roofing captain, ramon = amazing. they patiently went above and beyond to make sure i was happy - that was priceless to me. timely. conscientious. kind. understanding. knowledgeable. detailed. fast. enrique worked with his two sons and together they painted like clockwork, just as ramon and his roofing crew did. as a single woman, i'm sad to say that my experience is that in this current economic milieu, it is hard to find reputable, honest workmen...chris and his crew are as honest as they come, and they did not try to pull that card with me. so refreshing. AND as if all this wasn't enough, here is perhaps the best part: THE PRICE WAS FANTASTIC. thank you chris, enrique, and ramon. i honestly cannot thank you enough. good luck with your projects, everyone. i hope this helped you all.
Description of Work: exterior painting, including: 1. whole house power wash 2. MAJOR stucco and window/door prep/repair work which included window/door scraping/re-puttying/wood-filling, stucco crack/hole repair/matching - you can imagine all the prep work required, tons. 3. priming and painting roofing, including: 1. carefully removing old 1920's red tiles 2. removing then replacing underlayment/felt/paper and any rotted wood 3. replacing and securing everything with all the proper cement and flashings, etc. 4. finding old tiles that match mine to replace any broken tiles (they are scarce as they are no longer made) removing all job debris.

Once we purchased our new home, we were eager to freshen it up and complete some repairs before moving in. We hired George Parks and his crew to repair and repaint the exterior trim, which really needed some care, apply a fresh coat of paint to the interior, and perform some minor roof repairs (cracked tiles, missing flashing, etc.). Everybody who worked with us was prompt, courteous, helpful, and appeared to take pride in their work. Once we met George and his crew , we were able to breath a sigh of relief and focus our attention on other tasks to get the house ready. We didn't need to provide much "management" after the work started. The project took about a week and a half of concentrated effort to complete, which seemed reasonable to us given the size of the job. We were very pleased with the results and the high level of service. When we're ready to paint our exterior siding or tackle another interior project, we're going to call George Parks again.
Description of Work: Painted all exterior wood trim, painted nearly all interior walls, resurfaced deck, and repaired routine roof damage.

Due to popularity in this Big Deal, it took some time to finally get scheduled with George's company. I worked my schedule through his son Daniel. Once scheduled, everything went very well. Daniel kept me updated on his arrival time, and I prepared the room ahead of time so no time was wasted in moving furniture. His painter cleaned the floors and windows before starting and taped off all the edges. The job was completed in about 4 hours. I did have to call Daniel back to do some extra cleanup of paint that ran on the baseboards. Daniel was very responsive and personally did the final cleanup for me. My only complaint is that I bought 2 gallons of paint when a single gallon would have completed the job. But otherwise, it was a professional job and I would definitely use George's Painting company again for any other painting or roofing needs I have.
Description of Work: I had my office painted.

The jobs went really well. What stands about them was that they seemed very motivated to make me happy. There was a little bit of confusion about the deck where they said one thing and then when they did the job, it was a little bit different. They absolutely went and made me happy. They basically did what needed to happen so that I would be happy. It was evident from everything that they wanted to see me happy.
