A Nelson Finish Carpentry

Initially Bob and his son Mark were punctual and did decent work.  Ultimately, it became very difficult to pin down dates for project completion.  They cancelled and rescheduled repeatedly. Several times they just no showed, leaving us anchored to the house waiting for the appointment.  This was usually followed by an apologetic text the following day and new proposed dates. 
The initial work, the TV cabinet and wine cellar, came out fine. The cabinets in our pantry were poorly done and the shelves in a walk in closet were not even close to completed nor functional.This after several attempts to correct the initial poor work.  I made the mistake of making the final payment as a favor after a sincere apology for the poor quality and a request for "help" with expenses to buy the additional materials needed. The apology came with the promise the project would be completed the following day. After repeated attempts to reschedule and without any response, I had to hire another tradesmen to clean up and finish both projects. 
The issue is not the craftsmen as much as it is a tendency to repeatedly overcommit. Both men are very personable and pleasant ?.. The project took much longer than they estimated and after repeated delays, they did not finish the job despite the fact they were paid in full.
