SPRINKLER SMART

$100 service call regardless. Electrical outlet not working so plugged into another and was told that the timer for the sprinkler system was still not working and must be replaced. He ran the system manually and found a leak which later turned out to be a missing sprinkler head. Said valves needed replacement with much better quality parts. Was told that I needed $1,200 worth of repairs so decided to look elsewhere. Had system fixed by another company for $110.

We thought we just had a couple broken sprinkler heads...turned out it was much more than that.  Truthfully, we had not done any sprinkler repairs since purchasing our house 2+ years ago...so we understood that this was 3 years worth of maintenance and repairs.  They came to the house on Monday morning to do an estimate and although it was not good news, it all made sense and was explained to me reasonably well.  The reason we had so many broken sprinkler heads was due to a high pressure system, our sprinklers were running at about 100 psi, instead of around 50-60.  Due to the pressure we had at least one broken line in the backyard.  There was also an issue with a commercial backflow device that was installed - this part I did not totally understand (plumbing and piping is not my arena), but I did get that the backflow and the system were not meant to work together and were mismatched.  So, he said he would give me a flat rate estimate, which included a tune up of our sprinkler system in all 10 zones, installing a pressure regulator, removing the backflow, fixing all leaks, making adjustments to the heads for proper angling and watering, and a guarantee that the system would be in perfect working order before they left...meaning any other surprises or newly blow heads would be fixed, replaced, repaired, etc., and all for the cost of $1700.00.  This was way more than we anticipated spending, but would help us not waste our water (with geysers in our lawn) and we might actually end up with plants and grass living through the summer.  We decided to go forward, and scheduled them to come at 7:30 on Wednesday of that same week.  There was a little confusion the morning they showed up, but once they were there, I was free to head to work.  They worked until 4:30 and the job was done.  I rushed home, and he walked me around the house and the yard to explain all the fixes, they had to remove some substantial branches from a shrub near the backflow to get access, which wasn't ideal, but it is not like the bush was ripped out of the ground.  He ran through all 10 zones of the system and showed me that they were working.  Overall, it seemed like everything was completed, our lawn did not look torn up, and he added a few little extras like adding in adjustable tops on a drip irrigation line to our potted plants, so they can be closed off if there is not plant there or it needs less water.  There were no extra costs, and they were even understanding when I did not have my checkbook with me, since I ran home from work so quickly. 

Company was on time and fixed the problem. Not too happy that they charged me $85 for a part that I could have gotten from my local hardware store for $55

They were prompt and professional. They cleaned up their mess and made sure my yard was back to it original condition. The job took approximately 5 hours to complete. Their work appears to be done correctly and the new configuration looks much nicer. Very professional looking. My only complaint would be that they would not provide me a breakdown of parts versus labor. Since I did not have time to get multiple estimates I am not sure if they were competitive in their pricing.

I thought that they were prompt, professional, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I thought they were good and I would use them again.

Everything was all good.

Overall we were thoroughly satisfied with the work. We believe we got good value for the money.

They are really prompt about getting out here. They are very friendly and helpful. The one time that something went wrong and a valve was leaking again within the 5 year guaranty, they came out and fixed it again for no charge. The prices are fair, but I haven't compared them to other companies. One time, they came out to fix a manifold, and when I told them about another problem, they said it was a minor thing and they fixed it at no charge.

I would recommend them in the future.

THE JOB PERFORMED WAS ADEQUATE. THEY ARE A VERY NICE COMPANY, HOWEVER THE SPRINKLER COVERAGE WAS REALLY NOT THAT GREAT AFTER THEY DID THE WORK. I PROBABLY WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN ALTHOUGH I AM SURE IF I CALLED THEM THEY WOULD COME OUT AGAIN TO FIX IT TO MY SATISFACTION.

WE ARE PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. I THINK ULTIMATELY IF WE EVER NEED TO MAKE A CHANGE, WE WILL PURCHASE OUR OWN PLANTS, FLOWERS, AND TREES. THE WORK THAT WAS DONE WAS QUALITY, HOWEVER I AM STILL NOT SURE IF I LIKE THE WAY THE PLANTS WERE ARRANGED. IT'S VERY BASIC AND NOT AS DECORATIVE AS WE HAD WISHED. I HOPE WE WILL FEEL DIFFERENTLY, AS THE PLANTS CONTINUE TO GROW.
