We took the car in because the check engine light was on. They diagnosed it and repaired it and we picked it up the next day. They said it should pass the smog test if I drove it for a few days. Instead, the engine light came back on. We took the car back to Star Automotive and they repaired a switch. They said it was hard to diagnose because sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't.
The car was ready the next day and it did pass the smog test.

They were easy to access, did the work at a fair price and we were very pleased. They cost came out to be $200 less than another quote we received.

Star Automotive are very friendly, reliable, I've always found their work very satisfactory, and comparatively they are less expensive.

I liked everything about them. They were friendly, courteous and definitely responsive, and told me what was going on. They had given me a guarantee before. They honored it, did everything they needed to do and got it back up and working properly. I didn’t have to spend anything. The vehicle was done when they promised it would be done. The quality of their work is still going strong. I have had no problem with their professionalism. Overall, I have been pleased with them and have no problem going back to them.

I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima which has been driven hard. I have been religious in oil changes but not too great in regular service. I noticed a change in the brakes and decided to take it in for brakes along with a change in the transmission fluid which was recommended the last time I had my oil changed somewhere else. No appointment was needed. I dropped the car off shortly after opening and was told there were two cars in front of me and they would take a look about 9:30. At 11:00 I received a call with the good news that brakes were not needed. However, the rotors were warped. They were able to repair the rotors for $100 rather than replace. It was recommended I have a major service rather than simply a transmission flush. Doing so reduced the cost of the transmission service and added services I knew were needed. The actual labor and parts came in at $75 over the quoted amount. Walt honored the quote and knocked the $75 off the bill. The car was ready when promised. At no point did I feel like they were trying to get me to purchase service I did not need. I felt like I was treated honestly and fairly. This is my second time using Star Automotive and I will be back.

I HAVE ALWAYS HAD GREAT SERVICE AT THIS PLACE. ONCE, WHEN THE WORK WAS DONE, A PART COST MORE THAN THE ESTIMATE. WHEN I POINTED THAT OUT, HE GAVE ME A REFUND OF THE DIFFERENCE. HE ALSO SPENT ALL DAY TRYING TO TRACK DOWN A SHORT IN THE LIGHTS, AND CHARGED ME NOTHING FOR IT.
