+ 1 moreIt was a pleasure working with J.R. and we were extremely pleased with the results. J.R. prepared a timeline for every step of the job and stuck to the schedule. From demolition to completion was only 11 weeks. J.R. obviously takes pride in keeping to the schedule as well as pride in the quality of the work. His subcontractors were always on time, skilled and very pleasant. J.R. was always in communication, either on site or by phone, and was very responsive to our opinion. For instance, after the walls had been painted, we felt some painting needed to be redone; and when we pointed this out to J.R., he agreed and immediately brought back the painters to take care of it. The payment schedule was based on completion of specific tasks; such as payment upon installation of countertops, payment upon installation of cabinets, etc. So, sometimes payment dates were close together. We were given all lean releases when the remodel was finished.
Description of Work: This was a complete remodel to update a small 1950's kitchen to a current style kitchen. They removed a wall between the utility room and existing kitchen, and went down to the studs on the exterior walls. They removed our hot water heater from the utility room and installed a tankless heater outside in order to make room for the remodel. They installed all new custom cabinets and drawers, new sink, a large garden window, new glass back door, granite countertops, tile backsplash, new appliances, and lighting. They prepped the subfloor so that we were prepared for installation of wood floors through a flooring company that we hired separately. The new kitchen is very spacious and has an island.
