I did stop using them due to cost. Its a high mark up for what they do. I haven't seen any termites in 16 years so I think I am good and recently canceled the insurance.
We hired Terminix in 2013 after discovering that another termite/pest control/lawn service company ripped us off. They were extremely responsive at that time and we believed that we were getting what we paid for.
On 2/29/2016, we were scheduled for our annual termite inspection and quarterly pest control. Since the termite inspection is conducted both internally and externally, someone was home to let the technician inside. No one ever came nor did we receive a phone call or email. That evening, I checked our online Terminix account and it showed two service reports for 2/29. We checked the video from our security cameras for the times indicated. They showed that the technician never came so therefore any service reports that he submitted were false. We called and emailed Terminix on Monday night with no response. We called Terminix again on Tuesday and the call center said that a manager would call us on Wednesday as they were all in the field. We received no call on Wednesday or Thursday. This total lack of responsiveness is in stark contrast to how quickly they responded to obtain our business. Therefore, on Thursday night, we sent an email requesting immediate cancellation of all services. Again, we received no call, just an email saying that Terminix will fulfill our request. Two weeks later, we received a renewal notice from Terminix so we had to call again to get our services cancelled. They have yet to call us back in the three weeks since 2/29.
It is hard to believe the complete lack of responsiveness from Terminix after catching their technician ripping off both them and us. We have to wonder how many other customers on 2/29 this technician deceived. We also wonder how many other times he filed service reports without performing the services we paid for.
