North Star Yacht Service is a company whose founder and owner has over 25 years experience in the upholstery business. We have a over 100 years experience between the owner and its craftsmen. Over all the time that we have been in the business we have promoted one quality above all others, service! Our commitment is to total customer satisfaction, nothing else matters. Our customer referral business is the most valuable business of all. Our owner has spent his entire career in the customer services business. All of our technicians have stood the test of time and can perform any type of upholstery related skills with complete professionalism and confidence. North Star Yacht Service provides a variety of services. We can upholster virtually anything you desire. If you are working with a designer or decorator North Star Yacht Service will be happy to work with them. We can use your own selected fabrics and materials or we can provide you with samples and help you find exactly what suits your needs. Couches, chairs, valences, headliners & wall coverings, the sky is the limit. North Star Yacht Service's commitment to quality assures you that we use only the finest quality materials. Sunbrella is our choice for most of our canvas applications unless otherwise specified by the customer. Sunbrella provides the widest selections of colors and patterns and has a five year warranty on it's marine fabrics. All of our seams are double stitched and all edges bound, our zippers all have wind flaps. We will custom fabricate anything you desire for your boat. North Star Yacht Service is the exclusive San Diego distributor for Tek Dek synthetic teak decking and flooring. These products are of the highest quality and are extremely durable. We offer both exterior & interior styles of Tek Dek with custom design and installations. We can fabricate covers for windshields and hatches using Sunbrella canvas products. If there is any type of custom cover needed we can provide it from fender covers to dock line protectors preventing your dock lines from creaking against your hull. We offer several different isinglass products. We use 40 gauge isinglass as our standard for "roll-up" window curtains. For the more discriminating customer we also offer "Strataglass" providing less distortion and greater longevity. When the window does not need to be rolled up we can install Makrolon, which offers the least amount of distortion and greatest durability of all.

Description of Work: North Star did canvas and window work for the aft deck on our motor yacht. David Spiegel visited our boat and gave us a bid on the work to be done. He and his employees did an excellent job crafting and installing the necessary canvas and Makrolon. They met all deadlines and exceeded our expectations. Their work was excellent and employees polite and efficient. The bill matched the bid to the penny! Based on this experience we would not hesitate to use North Star Yacht Service again and again.

David, the owner, came out to survey the boat and give an estimate. He went over the cost of materials and the wearability of each (even sitting on foam samples for the cushions). Once we decided on the colors/types we wanted for each, they got to work. While on the boat, the workers were very professional, quiet, and respectful, taking down the existing structure one day, then putting up the finished pieces on another. Final measurements were done by David's assistant Avi, and then David came out for final approval and sign-off of the job.
Description of Work: North Star Yacht Services completely redesigned my boat's bimini from a partial enclosure to a full-enclosure. They replaced the cracked and worn vinyl with brand new, 360 degree Isinglass, covers and screens. They created a new steel structure to allow for walking through the cockpit without bending down, and see-through panels to view the sails while within the enclosure. Additionally, they created new sail covers that are easily removed and match the canvas of the rest of the exterior. On the interior of the boat, they updated the worn, cracked leather cushions with memory foam replacements and a brand new color and style, that will last for years to come.
