New Day Solar

I went with this company for the many positive reviews, sadly my experience has been horrible. They have been paid in full yet my system is still not up and running. Failed inspections and poor communication has been my experience with this company. They blame city for inspection failure, but I have doubts with the amount of work they had to do. Makes me feel I have to contact another solar company to make sure they are doing job right. Do not pay them in full before your system is up and running, they will just give you the cold shoulder. Definitely consider other companies as I would not recommend or go with this company again.

Started shopping for my solar system in March of 2013.  Wife works for the Home Depot so we got a quote from them, 2 other companies as well as new day solar.  The representative from new day, Daren; was the most knowledgeable and helpful of the four.  He also spent the most time here doing the Site Review explaining the options as well as had the least pressure follow up and question answering.  The reps from the other companies were in a hurry didn't know much and practically wanted to wrestle to get me to sign a contract.

Beyond customer service at the beginning new day also came in with the best price for my system by far.  Other higher priced companies were also giving a 4 to 6 month installation window when new day was ready to install a week later, which ultimately saved me over $1500 considering it would have been after summer had I went with one of the other companies for my system.

I have now had my system for 2 years and I can tell you that Edison investors hate me as I have not had a power bill in two years.  Thanks to when I got into the program and the electric rates going up after four more years my system will have more or less paid for itself therefore I expect a long life of realized profits from going solar.

We sold our home with a Solar City leased system back in July 2014. It worked for us at the time, but decided to purchase a solar system for our new home in Murrieta. I interviewed eight separate companies. Having a good baseline of solar knowledge, I was surprised at how many reps were just trying to make a sale and had very little solar knowledge. I was pleasantly surprised when Daren showed up! We talked a lot about solar and all of the processes that go along with it. Daren not only knows solar but has had it himself for 15+ years. It was obvious he has a passion for solar and was interested in designing a system for our needs - not his wallet. 

We were able to get an earlier install than initially scheduled. Brandon and his crew were polite and professional. They all worked hard and know what they're doing. Scott (the owner) was out on the site a few times to make sure everything was running smooth. He is also a great resource of knowledge for solar information as he has been in the business 28 years.

The price? Not only were they the best price with all of the quotes we received, but they had the most financing options. We ended up paying cash because that's what worked best for us, but I was impressed with the 5 other options they gave us.

So the part of the 5 stars is "Does the company deliver on what was promised?'
The answers is YES! 
I've had the system for over a year now. I was told the system would produce approximately 12,500 KwH annually. In one year the system produced 14,200 KwH. No one can predict a system's production to an exact number because of all of the factors, but New Day Solar did a great job with estimating for our needs.

We were referred to New Day Solar by a friend. Daren Webster was our representative and during our initial consultation we learned about how the energy system worked and how we were going to save money with a solar system.  He also gave us some information on how to get a low rate loan to finance the system cost.We had to wait a few months for the local permits to be approved, but once that was approved everything came into place quickly.  We had already set an installation date, but the permit was approved earlier than anticipated and they were able to do the work sooner.  The job was done in the span of two day and we got to meet the owner Scott Carlson on the first day.  The end product looked professional and a few days later we got the OK from the electrical company to turn on our new solar power generator.  A few days late my wife contacted the electrical company to change our billing method in line with what Daren had suggested.  We have had the system for over 6 months and are very happy with what we have experienced so far.  We will happily use their services again and recommend to our close friends without any reservation.

Scot has been in this solar business for a bout forty five years. Every one of his operations are first class. The workman ship of the people are super, professional, they clean up their work site when they are done, the panels have a five year guarantee. They have personally been responsive on phone because they have been busy. The owner is a super smart guy.

These people can be trusted.  They are good Moral People doing great work at a fair price.  They were by far the lowest cost, while installing the highest quality components available.  I first went to them because they had great reviews on Yelp.  There was almost no negative.   I think I got about 5 different quotes.  From Costco, Lowes, Home Depot, Solar Companies that knocked on my door, other companies I found on line, and that were recommended by friends.
New Day Solar was multiple thousands of dollars lower.   They took an unlimited amount of time to answer all my questions, educate me about solar in general, etc.  
Before I went with New Day Solar, I had signed a contract for a Solar Lease for 25 years.   The Monthly cost from them, was going to be about the same for 25 years as it was for about 15 years if I bought a system From New day Solar.   New Day will not do any financing.  They are selling a turnkey installed system.
I have large shade trees on my property and they did a very careful shade study to make sure to maximize my energy production with Panel placement.   They have special equipment to do this.  They can tell you the path of the Sun relative to your property and roof, and find the very best place for panels.
The Installation:
I had to wait a couple of months to get the installation started, but it only took a couple of days, and the work was very high quality.  They use aluminum mounts , and special mounting brackets to nearly eliminate the possibility of leaks due to their installation.  The installers were highly professional and well spoken.   Unfortunately the driver of the panel delivery truck accidentally  drove over and broke a custom made boulder in the front of my property.  They proactively told me about the accident, and took pictures, and are arranging the custom work to replace it. 
I have a lot of young kids running around and they were careful, and kind to the children, and even paid attention to the children and were appropriately responsive and playful.  They were also proactively careful about not letting the Dog get out of the yard.
They had a little bit of trouble with my older electrical panel, but they are coming out today with a part to complete the installation.
The whole company really goes above and beyond.   They have very low overhead, and their prices are right on their website at http://newdaysolar.com.   And the owner is one of the original Solar Experts in Southern California.   They educated me, and helped me acquire both federal tax credits and county rebates that have an ultimate value of 11.7k, but even before the installation is complete, I have already received 7.2k.   They also helped me understand how to maximize my savings with an interactive Grid connected system, but choosing a time of use plan with SCE and selling energy when it is most valuable and buying it when it is cheapest.
To sum it up.  I thank God, he helped my find New Day Solar.   I believe this is going to be one of the best financial choices I have ever made.   Cash in my pocket and saving money on electricity from Day 1.  After 15 years, I will have free electricity, not accounting for maintenance costs.

I appreciated their expertise and the fact that they were not trying to just sell me stuff, especially stuff i did not need.  They were able to add panels without adding or upgrading the inverter.  I would have never known the difference, so I appreciated their integrity.
