Our second home was flooded and extensively damaged. Walls, flooring , ceilings , bathrooms all ruined. We live in Alaska and found Gallenberger through this website. I can t say enough good things about Gallenberger construction and James Gallenberger. From the start James was personable and easy to deal with. His work was done on time within budget and in a highly professional manner. The subcontractors he referred were also professional and closely managed by James. Our home is beautiful again ! I highly recommend Gallenberger construction.

James and his team were friendly, experienced, prompt, dependable, and provided outstanding service from start to finish. James took the time to listen carefully to how we wanted our old and weather-damaged deck repaired, then he and his team promptly got to work and made it not only good as new, but better than it was before. In fact, he made several improvements (with our okay) that we hadn't even thought of, and did so at minimal extra cost. Those improvements showed just how creative and experienced James is when it comes to quality carpentry. In every way, he went above and beyond the call of duty and I'm already recommending him to anyone I know who might need repairs or other work done on their homes.

I can't say enough good about this company. James & his Crew built/restored our large front deck. They showed up on time & on budget despite encountering a few unforseen structural problems once the decking boards were removed from the previous deck. From start to finish their knowledge & skilled professionalism resulted in a beautiful new deck we love & continue to get compliments on.

James Gallenberger has been a straight shooter from day one, he is easy to talk to, and will set you at ease with his construction experience (he actually has worked construction, not just a guy who got a license, passed a background check and has insurance). I had a very strange project that involved renovation of an existing 1930's building (turn a commercial 1930's building into multi unit residence, very complicated, per code and permitting). He has helped figure out the overall planning (especially framing) and is very transparent with cost vs. gain when it comes to the project, I would definitely recommend him and plan on using him again for future projects.

James was very professional, gave a fair quote and went above and beyond to make me happy building a beautiful large deck in my backyard. I appreciated his hard work and attention to detail. He and his crew worked very hard and I loved the results! I have already recommended him to a friend.

James and his crew EXCEEDED our EXPECTATIONS! We were given a prompt detailed quote to fix the back porch of our 106 year old historic Craftsman home in San Diego Mission Hills. After giving us a not too far out date to complete the job, these neat and polite gentlemen even took care of a couple other additional minor repairs - and still kept to their original price! We'll continue to use their professional service as historic homes like ours do require the kind of careful periodic care Gallenberger Construction has shown us they deliver.

I had a couple of different companies give me some estimates for a 3 bedroom house I bought and after they came, I never heard from them again or they just didn't want to help me. Some were just flat out rude. I'm a young, single female, so I needed an honest guy who would do the job and not nickle and dime me. James was the right and best man for the job. His workmanship is superior and his attitude amazing. He took the time to shoot ideas back and forth with what would work and what wouldn't. Showed me a bunch of pictures he had taken with his phone on other jobs so I could get visual ideas of what he was talking about, explained how and why things I wanted would or would not work, and did a million other little things for me that I couldn't do myself (like mounting my TVs and putting in a ceiling fan). His prices are beyond reasonable and he is super friendly, easy to get in touch with and will literally work harder than any other person out there. He was also really good with making sure none of the work he did would cause harm to my dogs. If he came to the house when I wasn't home to work, he gave my dogs attention, put them outside and made sure they were safe before getting to work. He's just a great guy with a great talent. I'd highly recommend him to my family and friends without hesitation.

There was a minor delay in finding a time to do the work due to busy schedules. But it all worked out very satisfactorily. The quality of the work was outstanding, and the quoted price was below what I expected to pay.

Very pleased with their work. They removed a great deal of exterior dry-rot and treated the dry-rot on beams that needed to stay. They removed and replaced wooden beams. Removed dry-rot shingles and replaced many many. James does and excellent job and I would hire them again. Good demeanor and easy to work with....
