Amanda Park Senior Apartments

I feel I have been discriminated against as a white female. The harassment that I have been receiving is now to the point where my health is going downhill quick. I realize now what the discrimination was for. Finally, I got to the point where I gave up. The first time I met the managers of the apartment building that I live in was in June 2012. They looked to me like they were Hispanic. This does not bother me, but I wanted to know why they wanted more money from me than I was supposed to pay. I was not allowed to speak and was forced to just listen to them speak at me. I felt that I was being blackmailed because I was threatened that if I did not pay the extra money, I would receive a 3-day eviction notice. I get government assistance and I called my representative to see what I could do about this money. I was advised to pay the money so I would not get evicted. I did end up paying this money even though I have papers showing the maximum amount of money to be paid for housing by the government agency. I felt I was fraudulently rented to. I was told I would receive a one-bedroom apartment and was given a two-bedroom apartment. They tried to charge me for two-bedrooms; even though, I was to only have the one-bedroom and they assigned me to the two-bedroom. They held back three of my checks and never told me. All of the sudden, they said you owe $74 for an issue three months ago. I asked why as I had paid rent. They said no, no we have your checks here. I was amazed because they should?ve cashed those checks. They actually gave me back my checks and said because they still owe me only a portion of what my rent was. What was left over was what was due. It was up to me to make up the mistake they made in configuring what was owed to me. I was overcharged in June 2012 due to a mistake they made back in December 2011. I paid this $74 and as I turned my back, I overheard someone tell me, ?Why don?t you swim back to Europe?? I feel this is discrimination. This is when I realized I think the problem all along has been that I am white. There was another odd experience where two gentlemen came in and took pictures of my bedroom. I assumed it was for promotion on the facility, but then I realized they were opening my closet and taking pictures. Just a strange instance. They also had authorized us to garden in the common areas, but I had been growing zucchini and two young women pulled up by zucchini plant. We were given permission to do so, but when my neighbor told the two girls that the plant was mine is when they pulled it up. Unfortunately, I am elderly and don't have the time or effort to pick up and move again.
