It was a pleasure to work with Sean and his crew. They acted quickly and professionally to complete the job. Coordination with solar installers was seemless and well received. My grip was post work. The installers cracked a skylight and left a portion where siding meets roof unfinished. When contacted I was provided the usual that it was already broken and the work passed inspection. The tone was very different post work and payment so ecareful to get all things checked before releasing the final payment. I'm a long time customer and expected better treatment. Remember to check before you pay.

This review is for a built up tar and gravel roof. We were very pleased with Shelton Roofing; they did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it, and they did a very good job. Communication was good leading up to, during, and after the project, they cleaned up after themselves, project was completed on time and on budget (except for small additional charge to repair some dry rot), and the roof itself looks great. Everyone we worked with was highly professional. We paid extra for white gravel, which is what was originally on our little mid-fifties ranch house, and it was so worth the cost. We did find Shelton Roofing to be on the expensive side. Their quote was several thousand dollars higher than the other bids we received. However, we decided to go with Shelton based on the across the board high quality reviews and ratings they received, unlike the other roofers who bid. We are very pleased we chose Shelton.

I only write a review of something when I am extremely unhappy or extremely happy. In this case, it’s because I’m extremely happy with my new roof from Shelton. Yes, they had a backlog this summer which meant that I had to wait for the job to start, but they fully informed me of that up-front when they came out for the estimate. Their attention to detail, their crew, and their clean-up were fabulous. At no point did I feel like they wanted to rush through the project to get to their next job. The estimator that I deal with, Sean Lawson, kept in contact throughout. When one of the other bidders asked me who I selected, and I said “Shelton”, he said “Don’t worry you are in good hands, they run multiple crews, and they are very good”.

Steve, the project manager, walked through an estimate his company provided from a few years ago, and agreed to schedule a re-roofing in for a slight increase in price in the cost of the materials.  He was barely able to promise the start of work in the fall, but managed to do it and complete it very successfully before the rains came.
There were a few issues having to do with the delivery of materials on our very crowded street (the truck couldn't get into our driveway), but he managed to deliver in the old, slower, carry-the-products-to-the-site-from-the-street way, and there were not significant delays.
The work was done well, it looks great, and the project was done on time.  Steve and his team coordinated with the company providing the skylight, and it all went in smoothly.
I definitely recommend this company for a quality job.

Shelton did an excellent job. They were responsive and met their promised schedule. Work quality was excellent. Good communication with us as we looked at issues that came up, and made decisions about how to handle details that arose along the way. I was impressed that they did a nice job of completing the finishing touches on the roof at the end of the job. And a nice clean up job.

The process was smooth from start to finish. All Shelton representatives and workers were very professional and responsive to my needs. The quality of the work is top notch. The price was as bid. I highly recommend Shelton.

We have a tar and gravel roof that was 10+ years old when we bought our house several years ago. I asked Shelton for an inspection. They came out promptly, checked the roof for free, and said call us back in 3-4 years when you'll need a new roof. I appreciated the professionalism.

They're absolutely top flight and excellent. They're not the lowest price but they really know what they're doing. The guy that came out that gave a quote really knows what he;s talking about. I did use them one time about 12 years ago and I wish I have. Every time I got a bid from them I use them with different things. They're extremely knowledgeable and the workman on the job really know what they're doing. They're just not sort of flipping through things and if they see something they don't like that in part for their contractors or something they'll let you know. They're just really excellent. The only thing I looked at is that they're so busy sometimes it takes a while to get them out for the job but once they get to job they finish the thing and they show up when they tell you they're going to but sometimes they get so busy it's hard to get their attention.

These guys are great! Extremely responsive from giving us a quote and doing the work on time and on budget. They explained all the details and what would be covered after they do the work. They looked at an area that was causing some water damage in our basement and found the source in a corner of our roof. They were able to do minimal work so we didn't have to do the entire roof sections, awesome! They also gave us a very good quote on replacing the down spout near the damage. It's been months and we have water tested the area and it's DRY!! Great company.

We used Shelton a number of years ago on another house and had good results, so we decided to use them again. The job went very well from start to finish, and the weather was good so there was no problem with rain. Our house is actually two buildings with a connecting gallery, and it has three levels and a complex roof with many angles and a complex gutter system.
They do excellent, high quality work. About 20 of the rafter tails, where the old gutters sat, were rotted out and Shelton's crew carefully cut each of the ends off and neatly glued specially cut new ones on. After painting you can hardly see where the joins are and they are now as good as new. During the whole job there were about a half dozen minor issues, which Shelton cleared out with no problems. Their crew was great.
After they were finished they cleaned the whole place up, leaving it cleaner than before. Not a scrap of wood, roof tile or anything else was left. Not even the sawdust! We had only one complaint: they tended to lean their ladders against the gutters, caving them in. This was very noticeable especially after they were painted. They say the gutters can simply be bent back out, but it's never the same after that. If you have this situation, make them put up wooden blocks to lean their ladders on so they won't damage the gutters.
Early in December we had a huge storm with wind and several inches of rain and the roof and gutter system came through with flying colors. One gutter had a cold solder joint (which they fixed) and one downspout got clogged, and those were the only problems.
Our house originally had an underground drainage system for the down spouts. However due to almost 50 years' worth of earthquakes and settling, that system is no longer useable. So we had Shelton modify several of our original down spouts for better drainage with flexible hoses, which they did at no extra charge.
A strong advantage with Shelton is they not only do roofing but also related structural repairs and gutter systems, so you only have to deal with one contractor. Shelton uses separate crews for these tasks, and so you should always get a competent crew. We would use them again.

Our tile roof can be easily broken. or damaged. We have used Shelton Roofing to help with repairs because they do a great job. We have been using their services for at least 10 years. I would highly recommend them.

The estimator examined the roof, explained what was needed. He even went over the measurements with me. He took the time to answer my questions. He recommended one additional downspout on the second story roof. None of the other estimators had noticed that there was no drainage from that area and the water would either pool or run over the side.
When we accepted their bid, I received a call very quicky to make an appointment . They had noted we had solar panels for the pool that needed to be removed and we had a delay till the solar company could remove the panels.
When removing the roof, the roofers carefully covered the back porch to keep it from being damage by falling gravel. Each day they cleaned up. During the day, they would sweep the driveway when my elderly mother or myself need to access the driveway. It rained before they were able to get the tar and gravel on but they had covered the roof so well there were no leaks. I was very pleased with the job they did.

They were on time, but after they left the roof started leaking again. The repair didn't really take. We didn't have them come back after that because I think we need to replace out roof. We'll probably call them for an estimate. It's an old roof and it's got a problem.

They were very professional. There were couple of miscommunications between the company and their subcontractors and they pulled off our gutters by mistake. We never wanted the gutters done. When we told them about this they replaced the gutters and painted them. We did not have to pay for anything. They really respond quickly and it was easy to get in touch with them. Their contract was well put together. Their bid was lower than another one we got. They were reasonably priced for us. They told us that the work will be finished in a week and it was done in a week.

They show up on time and complete the job. Though clean up have room for improvement. Overall the value of the whole job is good.

The solar installation work was through a different contractor and they hired Shelton Roofing Company. Overall, the work was good and fine as well.

The origional quote was high because Shelton didn't know if each of the rafters (not sure I am using the correct term) needed to be notched to fit the newer style gutter. After I agreed to the bid - they promised to lower the estimate if the cutting of the rafters didn't need to be performed. Sure enough the extra work didn't need to be done so the actual invoice came in at about 1/2 of the origional quote. This is a very honest company and come time to change/repair the roof - they will definately be at the top of the list of bidders. My gutter work was done professionally, quickly and without issue. I highly recommend this company.

Generally, they did a fine job. However, the guy ran out of shingles and had to come back a second time. I had to call them to find out when he would be back. So the coordination could have been better. However, they appear to have done a good job.

Called Steve at Shelton Roofing about an estimate to repair shake roof - multiple cracked shakes, and areas where felt was exposed. He came out at the agreed time, got up on the roof to evaluate where repairs were needed, and gave a written estimate via email the next day. I had received one other estimate that was slightly higher than the one Steve gave me, and noted that Shelton Roofing was diamond certified, so decided to go with them. I faxed back a signed contract to them, and Steve said they could probably do the work in 1-2 weeks. He called about a week later, and set up a time to come out and do the job. The roof repair guy came out promptly at the arranged time, did the work in about 5 hrs and everything was cleaned up well. As far as I can tell the work was done well.

We took bids from some other company's, but this one gave the best bid for the job. They tore off all the old shingles on our home, and replaced them. I had no problems with them in terms of workmanship. They did a good job. Not one piece of trash or debris was left behind.
