Eddy had previously done a couple of handy man jobs for me: repairing a concrete step. and replacing the exhaust pipe under the house for our new gas clothes dryer. When I saw his truck and read his business card, I asked him to look at another job I had in mind. We have a new 1/2 bath, but it was very small and awkward to use with the large pedestal basin. I wanted to replace it with a smaller corner suspended basin. Eddy took measurements and looked at the pictures I had of possible replacement basins. He explained the problems involved with having to move the plumbing lines and open up the wall to reinforce it with wood to carry the weight of a hanging basin. He said he would send me an estimate/contract and if I wanted him to do the job to let him know. In the next couple of days I received the estimate/contract. I liked the bid and called him. I had to order the basin and told him I would call as soon as it was received. It arrived about 10 days later. Eddy was finishing a job but started the following Monday, He worked on repairing the floor, then the door, then the following day started the bathroom. At the end of each day he cleaned up after himself, but I told him to leave his tools (in the guest room) so he wouldn't have to pack them up each evening. He was prompt , or called if he was delayed. We were very impressed with his pleasant attitude and excellent work.
Description of Work: Repaired hardwood floor damaged when furnace was replaced (different company). Also replaced a portion of carpeting in the hall (part of previous furnace job). He meticulously cut and matched each piece of wood to fit perfectly Although I could not find carpeting of the exact same color, Eddy worked with the piece I did find to make it visually acceptable. Rehung door to swing/open in opposite direction (from furnace job). This entailed changing hinges and rebuilding part of the door frame. The door actually fits and opens and closes better than it did originally. Removed pedestal basin in half-bath and installed a new hanging corner basin, which entailed removing portions of wall to reinforce with wood studs; moving plumbing lines, replacing wall; finishing/plastering the wall to hide all signs of construction. Building a small shelf to fit the space to the new basin, which is curved on one end. It fits perfectly. Eddy's work is very professional. And he is NEAT, which is important to me.
