The information provided was very helpful. The shop provided a wide array of mattresses to try, and plenty of time to lie down and test mattresses, pillows, and adjustable bases. They even have organic beds that cause no harmful off gassing in your home. They truly have a huge selection. However, they work on commission, and they kept pressuring me to "put down a deposit today to lock in the sale price." It was a postal holiday weekend, and the sale prices were significant, but they advertize the price for the whole weekend, so I still had time to come back and get the sale price without laying down a big wad of cash. The pressure to hand over the money included saying that they didn't know if the sale price would be going on the following day, when legally they were advertizing the sale to be continued through the whole weekend. Ultimately the high pressure to hand over the money drove me out of the store. If you don't mind saying "I'm not ready" over and over again to put down 20%, this is actually a good place to go to test beds. It may even be an okay place to buy a bed, for all I know, but I think the prices were a bit high. I can get a Tempurpedic pillow at Bed Bath and Beyond for $150, of Mancini's will throw in a "free" Tempurpedic pillow "worth $250" that I believe to be the same one for less at the other store. If money is no object, and being waited on attentively and having your questions answered by an eager sales person is more important for you, this may be a good store for you.

This may be as much a critique of the industry as much as of Mancini's Sleepworld. Went in to browse for a mattress, knowing ahead of time about the necessity of negotiation. The main message is that you MUST be prepared to negotiate the price of your mattress down, probably more than 30%. The prices listed are not what they are expected to sell at! If you do not feel comfortable with this situation, as many don't, then you may want to consider places that have set prices. The salesperson was friendly though immediately seemed to try to place you in an "ability to pay" category so that he could start you at the most expensive possible mattress. Very much like buying a used car at a shady dealer!

He was so patient with us. He did not pressure us and didn't steer us. He gave us time to talk alone and didn't hover over us. He worked with us on the pricing and discounts. He made us feel very comfortable in the store. He was very professional.
