Hipstermaid

I set up the cleaning on the website, and was pleased by how easy to arrange a cleaning it was, as well as the fact that I could just arrange a cleaning, I didn't need to make a separate appointment for someone to clean my house.
At the time of the cleaning service, one woman arrived, clearly expecting a supervisor to have arrived earlier.  I don't particularly care that she wasn't a hipster, but I found it interesting that she was clearly An Employee. She let me know that she'd tried to reach her supervisor and that she was not responding to phone calls or texts.  I showed her around the house and left to run errands.
The house was cleaned.  She did a better job than some friends who I've paid to clean before, and I'd call her job reasonably thorough.  She did, however, break a piece of pottery-- something that I'd not had happen before.  She left me voicemail and a text message about that, and offered to replace it.  I thought that was responsible and appropriate, though I also find it odd that she dropped the pottery while dusting it.
I won't be hiring them again, though, because I just don't like paying one person to arrange to have someone else clean my house.  I'd prefer the money be going directly to the cleaner, not through a service (thank you, Barbara Erenreich).
