David came to replace a check valve on my recirculating pump line. He was on time, got right into it and did a very clean job. When I called the office, I spoke to Thomas directly. I let him know what the issue was and what I needed replaced. He put me on the calendar and gave me an estimate over the phone that was reasonable. My buddy who used to service Morgan Hill area who has wonderful reputation (Good 1 Plumbing) referred me to Thomas since he was unavailable. He is Good 1 approved. No need to shop around.

They are very professional. I'd give them an "A" across the board. Their prices are always reasonable. I would use them again.

The removal and installation went very well. The plumber analyzed the issue after inquiring what was wrong. He explained to me in detail what he thought the work would entail. He explained the best case scenario and possible worst case scenario. He also provided me his worst case estimate for how long it would take. He then went to work. After he was done installing, he first throughly tested for water leaks. Following this, he thoroughly tested the garbage disposal.
It was a very professional job. I plan on using Thomas Plumbing for my future plumbing needs.

Member Comments: Our Master bathroom shower hot water valve would not completely shut off. I called Thomas Plumbing. Richard arrived in about 2 hours. Because of recent surgery I was unable to shut off water to the house prior to his arrival. He shut off water to house then took the two levers and valves from the tiled shower wall. He capped those and the shower head valve with a miscellaneous assortment of junk hardware. One was even a small faucet used as a cap. It was what he had with him. He charged me for those pieces of junk on top of fee of about $160. He said he was not aware of the $65 service charge posted on Angie's List. Nor was his boss. I am still wondering why he removed the functioning shower head and cold water hardware then, charged for the time to do this and the junk parts caps to temporarily replace those. He said he would take the damaged valve to the shop to show his boss and get a quote for repair. Next day he called and said they were not familiar with the valve and could not find one similar. It is part of an 18 year old Kohler lever faucet(s) in polished brass. He quoted me $875 for the repair on top of the over $160 I paid for the call. I asked him what type of new lever plumbing fixture that would include. He said he did not know. They would have to cut into my wall through the tile, replace all plumbing which he said was rusted and then install metal plates over the holes instead of repairing tile.
Next day I called the shop and spoke with Ben, one of the owners, who said the shower valve they would use would be a chrome plated crystal type single knob. A very low-end fixture. I did not feel comfortable and asked for him to come over at his convenience as his shop and office is very close to our home. He said to call Dave, his partner and brother-in-law. Dave came over and confirmed they could not find valve replacement and if I wanted to upgrade fixture, to match existing, I should go shopping . He said he would do more looking himself and call back. . He said the repair without providing tile replacement or shower valve and trim would be about $800. Neither he or Ben ever called back!
Days later my wife drove me to Franks Plumbing in Morgan Hill. They have a retail counter. Wife of the owner said she had never seen the valve before but plumber could come to my house to evaluate the situation for a fee of about $150. Owner was out on service call.
From there we drove to Ace Hardware in Morgan Hill. I showed store manager the valve and he immediately went to the valve wall display and sold me the $35 Kohler replacement. He said 18 years in plumbing life is not real old. The replacement valve is a stock item. He recommended a handyman who is a licensed contractor. Handyman came out that evening. Charges $45 per hour. He promptly replaced the valve and fixtures. He said my plumbing in wall is all copper and is not rusted. Our home is high-end custom constructed. He said a small piece of debris somehow got caught in the ceramic part of valve and broke part off which caused the malfunction. I was so happy to have resolved all this I paid him $90 for 2 hours labor even though he was at house little over one hour. The shower works better than ever. At this time Thomas Plumbing has still not got back to us. My total cost of repair on top their ridiculous service fee I paid was $125 and not the $1,400 I would have paid for their labor and cost to replace all the hardware in polished brass. I am able to continue using my polished brass lever and trim and not have a chrome knob faucet which would not match anything in the bathroom or house. I do not recommend Thomas Plumbing or Franks Plumbing of Morgan Hill. Surely these plumbers should have known the inoperable valve had a replacement part available by the manufacturer and sold in local hardware stores.. I wonder!

After getting a very high quote from another company, I spent some time talking to Thomas's. They explained to me all the codes for my city and that I was basically being, well, fleeced by the other company and was being quoted for add-on services that were totally unnecessary. I called several of my local friends to see if anyone uses Thomas Plumbing and heard from them that they are reliable and fair. That was my experience. The plumber (Matt) was great, patient in removing my old water heater, which was quite clogged up. He walked me through the procedure for flushing it and restarting. Great service, punctual, fast (next working day). I would recommend them, especially if you DON'T know what you're doing.

The plumber identified a connector that comes with the unit as leaky and told me why that would affect the performance of the instant hot device. I also asked him to look at a suspicious valve and he replaced the gasket in that valve. No issues.

Their prices were competitive, and they had showed up on time. Overall they were good, but i just felt that was quality and professionalism was decent.

I've used them a dozen times. They are very professional and very on time; that is very uncharacteristic of many plumbing companies. Their price is not very cheap.

Id already purchased the correct cartridge and could have theoretically replaced it myself. But I couldnt get the release nut off. The plumber, Lucky, didnt have a lot of trouble with that, but he spent over an hour getting the vacuum breaker out. In the end he had to break it apart. Id been warned that this might be a problem. Normally the vacuum breaker would not need to be replaced, but in this case, the original design was faulty, and a newly designed breaker had been provided at no cost.

I called the main number after hours on a Friday. I believe Ben, the guy I talked to, is the main guy and the grandson of Thomas that started the company. Ben told me that because it was the weekend they would have to charge me time and a half, and that they could have someone at my house the next morning between 9 and 11. The plumber did show up the next morning at 10. After looking at the pipe, he had to go off to a HW store for parts, but he came back promptly and fixed the problem. I would use these guys again.

He worked really hard on getting this very obstinate clog cleared away and we were really satisfied by the way he cleaned up afterward.

This company has high quality experienced employees working for them. They are kind of high priced, however they are worth it. I have used this company for many years. This company has high quality of work and responsiveness. If I have had any problems with the work that they did he comes out, and fixes it with no charge.

They installed our furnace for us and did a good job, however we had to have them repair it not long afterward. They did not show up on time and did not do a good job fixing it. We had trouble negotiating the price with them and after the second time Im not sure we would use them again.

They did excellent work for us. I was really happy that I called them, it was well worth the money I spent to have him come out because he did a fantastic job. I usually do the plumbing but I will call them from now on.
