When I was out back, I noticed a hole in the fence and I knew it came from our neighbor's kids who would go out in the back with their the BB gun. I went over to our neighbor's house and confronted her about it, and tried to resolve the issue. She agreed that she would pay for the repair.
When I called the company about this issue, I discussed the hole with them and also mentioned the issues with the gates in the front and told them that I wanted it all taken care of during one visit. I told them my neighbor was willing to pay for the damage, and that I wanted to know the cost, so I could give her the quote. He said it would be $77. Then he was telling me the panel was $13 and she could pay for the panel and have someone install it, but I told him that I wanted them to do it since they were professionals and were already needed to come back out. They agreed to do it. I told her the cost. I was going to pay for the repairs and she would pay me back.
We were going to schedule to have Tom, the manager, come back out. I never got any answers from him. Over time, I became frustrated and called the office and spoke to the secretary and lost my patience with her. I did apologize to her for losing my temper and letting out my frustrations because I was tired of leaving messages and not hearing back. I asked that she leave a message for Tom about how upset I was. I guess she passed it along because Tom called me right away. I was shocked at how fast he responded after having several messages get ignored. Before I could get anything out, Tom started yelling at me and told me to "man up" and that if I wanted to yell at someone, to come up to the company to yell at him. We started arguing, because I thought it was very unprofessional to scream at a customer like that. I ended up asking him to calm down and we both cooled off and agreed to get everything taken care of. I paid for the repair and we got the appointment set up for that following Saturday.
It has now been 2 weeks and they haven't got back to me or come to do the repair. I also found it very strange that I received a text from my neighbor and the way she texted me sounded like Tom had spoken with her about our argument and about me yelling at the secretary. She told me that I needed to stop harassing her and I ended up very confused. It seemed like Tom and my neighbor were both speaking to each other and saying bad things about me. That seems very unprofessional to me from Tom because as a manager, I don't think it is right to be talking to someone about another customer. I don't think it was my neighbor's business to know what was going on with this company. I was the original customer with the damaged fence, I paid for the repair for the company to come out and she was just going to pay me back directly. There was no need for her to be involved with this company at all and he was giving her options on the panels and payment options when I was the paying customer.
One simple repair has now turned into a big dispute and I think most of the issues were completely instigated and started by this company. I would not recommend them.
