Dr. Ravalin diagnosed the injury correctly, got me into surgery almost immediately, and successfully completed a massive repair. He also recommended a physical therapist qualified to treat the specific injury, and worked with him closely to ensure my safe and successful recovery. He's been honest abut the severity of the injury, and the time and effort it will take to heal and regain use.
I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have such a qualified surgeon. I highly recommend Dr. Ravalin.
Note--because he is willing to take time with each patient, he sometimes runs late. Call the office an hour before your appointment, find out if he's on schedule or running behind, and work with the staff to adjust your arrival time accordingly to avoid a longer wait--not a problem.

Outcome was as described in pre-surgery counseling. No pressure one way or another to have surgery. Overall, no worries. Appointment schedule tends to drift later and later in the afternoon. This, i feel, is because he will stay with you until all your questions are answered. Call ahead to staff if you have an afternoon appointment to find out how late they are running.

Dr Ravalin is THE guy in Monterey for shoulder work. Staff (Jeanie, especially) are professional. Dr Ravalin answers all questions you have. That's good. As a consequence, the schedule often runs as much as an hour behind in the afternoon. Call ahead and check the schedule - it may save you a wait in the waiting room.
