Excellent service. When he inspected the stove, Pat explained what wasn't working and why. He fixed the problem and pulled out the wood burning stove to clean it - first time that was done! He is honest and has integrity. Highly recommend him.

Pat is owner operator...he inspected in a separate date two weeks earlier...he told me the price of service if basic cleaning required.  Cannot remember what he quoted at that time, but after inspection he said my chimney looked pretty darn clean, and didn't really need a cleaning.  Since we had not had a fire in the fireplace for over 10 years, I thought we should go ahead and do it anyway.  Pat arrived on time, with a cheerful heart, and did an excellent and swift cleaning.  He only charged $155, which I am certain is way lower than he quoted, so I was happy about that.  Seems like Pat has a lot of integrity...if I were you, I would not hesitate to give him a call. He also made a recommendation of adding a low cost heat shield to the back wall to help reflect heat out and protect the brick better.

Don't expect him back though if you need repairs done. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

The technician arrived on time and began examining the fireplace. The fireplace is actually a wood stove that has been placed inside the fireplace opening. The technician explained to me that the installation is unsafe, and explained carefully why it is unsafe.
He also examined the wall that the fireplace was on and said the former homeowner had probably bumped out the wall himself and installed electrical and cable in the wall (there are outlets) and this may also be unsafe. He said that in all probability the wall will have to be demolished and restored to original in order to be safe; I am having a contractor come out and assess this more thoroughly. He said that even with all of that, the wood stove did not have sufficient clearance to be safe in the opening, the wood stove gets much too hot. He then showed me areas of the top of the fireplace opening that had wood that was charred.
I will call Keystone to remove the wood stove once the situation is completely assessed.

The service was great. The cleaner was punctual. He was courteous. He was professional. He didn't mind my two-year-old running around. He was knowledgeable. I haven't used the fireplace forever. I inherited my house so we actually had the door locked off from my two-year-old baby but when we opened the door, we discovered that the fireplace was filled with dirt, which is very odd, and there was a lot of it in there. The cleaner got all of the dirt out. He vacuumed, he cleaned everything, and he went up on the roof and inspected it. We got a full inspection report. He completely sealed the fireplace from the inside so while he was cleaning it from the roof, none of my living room would get the dirt. It was almost like an airtight seal. He completely cleaned up after himself. He was just very polite and professional. He exactly knew what he was talking about. He said that he has been in the business for twenty years and that he had learnt it from his father. He seemed very down to earth and personable as well.
