A-1 Floor Specialist

I met with Fernando a number of times.  He came to our home to discuss and describe options for our flooring job and we went to his place of business to view different products.  He is very friendly, responsive and expert in various flooring products. We liked him quite well.   He was very patient with us and allowed us to borrow several sample boards for carpet and flooring.  We ultimately decided on a nice laminate plank flooring for the rooms in question and agreed to revisit the carpeting at a later time.  We agreed on the price and install date... and ( I think) I paid him up front for the materials only with the remainder due at the completion of the job.  A few days befoe the job, that materials showed up.  On the day of the job, the two installers were punctual and mostly efficient.  I happened to be home that day, so they helped me relocate the rest of the furniture and remove the rest of the baseboards.  They took great care with some things.  Fernando was also present for a portion of the install as well to assist and make sure things were going smoothly.  I appreciated that extra service.  The install went very fast although one critique I had was that the installers spent some time with personal cell phone calls while doing the install and I didn't really appreciate that-- I felt it was a distraction.  I also had to have them immediately brought back after they had left to remove/redo some damaged/defective pieces and replaced with new material.  I wished they had focused more on the install and maybe those things wouldn't have occurred.  Fernando was very good throughout the whole process though.  At the end of the day, we're happy with the products, service & install. 

I would use A-1 again-- they'd get 1st chance at a job, but I would (as with any tradesman) carefully evaluate their work and make sure I was satisfied before I offer final payment.

There was a floor previously done that needed to be matched. Victor checked on the work mid way and made sure it was matched the best it could be. Very friendly, prompt and got the job done quickly.

It went amazing well. I stopped by their shop one day and spoke to the sales manager, Victor Nunez. I had digital photos of my home's interior and examined carpeting samples. Based upon square footage I provided he was able to give me an approximate cost. Two days later he came by the house and gave me a formal estimate whereupon I signed the proposal and gave a 50% deposit. Within a week, the work began. First the carpeting was installed on a Friday. The following Monday they began refinishing the floors. On the first day they were able to refinish the floors and apply two coats of polyurethane. On Tuesday morning they applied the final coat. They returned two days later to replace the furniture. That same afternoon Victor came by to review floor care procedures and pick up the final payment. About the only category I could downgrade the company somewhat is punctuality. Most days they were about an hour early; the final day they were ninety minutes late.

They need to better prepare their customers for what they should expect in the process of refinishing all hardwood floors in the persons house, which in my case included over 75% of all floor space. They did not communicate with me nor think ahead of time what I needed to know about their procedures or methods and what was important to me. They needed to be specifically told how to proceed with various aspects and methods in their work to protect my house and its contents. The workers doing the actual work in the house were very messy and unconcerned about what was important to me. They continually had to be told to clean up after their work. When their lack of concern for what was important to me was pointed out they argued with me and forced me to be very insistent that they abide by my wishes or else. They need to counsel their workers on better customer service so that those of us paying the bill feel that we are being treated fairly and professionally.

DID A GREAT JOB. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL IN MOVING FURNITURE. THE JOB ONLY TOOK TWO DAYS AND THEY COMMUNICATED VERY WELL THROUGOUT THE JOB SO I WAS AWARE OF WHAT WAS GOING ON. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

ALL THE GUYS WERE VERY CLEAN AND QUICK FOR BEING A BIG JOB. I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO TAKE FOREVER, BUT IN LESS THAN A WEEK I WAS ABLE TO WALK ON MY NEW HARDWOOD FLOOR, POLISHED AND ALL.
