Aqua Care

Working with Irit and Raul and their team was a dream. From beginning to end, they treated our pool build as if it they were doing it for themselves. They took meticulous care with our property, including making it possible for our dog and toddler to continue to safely use the yard throughout construction, and cleaning dust and debris from the site daily. Their attention to detail was evident from the very beginning, when they cleaned up permit filing errors made by our previous contractor and engineer. They provided clear and accurate estimates and cost breakdowns. Their team showed up reliably 5 days a week (and sometimes Saturday’s!) and there was visible progress made every single day— it was clear they were moving along efficiently, and when Raul walked us through nuts and bolts of the process, we saw that he was doing the highest quality of work (even the company we eventually hired to maintain the pool commented on how well it was built!). We started the pool build intending to do the landscaping at another time, but we saw quickly that Irit’s expertise would elevate the whole project, and contracted Aqua Care for landscaping as well. We have never finished a construction project on our home with such warm feelings for and full confidence in the work done by our contractors. We could recommend Aqua Care more highly!

Aqua care designed and built a beautiful pool and landscaping from flat boring area to a tranquil backyard resort. As the project moved along we added, changed, made special requests and Aqua Care was able to accommodate our unique requests. I spoke with the designer at Aqua Care and described my desires. I described using words such as "natural", "pond", "lagoon", and they were able to translate this into the pool design of my dreams.

Aqua Care did a beautiful job replastering and retiling our pool. Irit and Raul were very professional, informative, and sensitive to our budget. They also completed the work quickly. We particularly appreciated their honesty–they didn't try to up-sell us anything, and they were frank about how much extras would cost, and whether they were worth it. We always felt we treated fairly and were in good hands. We continue to use Aqua Care to clean and maintain the pool and they do an excellent job. Our highest possible recommendation.

I started losing about 1" of water per day in my pool. A leak detection company identified the leak coming from a crack in the bottom step into the pool. Since the leak detection company does not do repairs, I found Aqua Care on Angie's List. Raul was able to swing by the same day and he suggested he could try to patch the leak with epoxy. If that didn't work the alternative would be to rebuild the steps which at which point I would likely want to replaster the entire pool because the plaster wouldn't match again and it would look terrible. Fortunately the epoxy seems to be working for now and the leak has stopped (which is a huge sigh of relief because I was getting really nervous about having all of the water leaking underground). After reading other reviews on AL and my own experience with Aqua Care (Raul was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable and his wife was the same when I talked to her on the phone to schedule them to come out) I would definitely choose them to remodel my pool when I am ready to do that. The fact that they combine landscaping with pool construction makes them a very attractive option.

I think Raul is fabulous. He solves problems fast on my elderly spa. Really wouldn’t ever use anyone else!

The entire experience was great. Irit and Raul were there with first-hand knowledge and experience every step of the way. They provided me with in-depth answers and advised me accordingly. Although, their initial bid was higher than the other similar pool companies I contacted, I decided to choose them because they always followed through, returned phone calls and texts in a timely manner, and were always available if I had a concern. Aqua Care Pools should be every prospective customers first and last call.

Raul and Irit are absolutely amazing. WE WILL NEVER WORK WITH ANOTHER POOL COMPANY AGAIN!!! THEY ARE THE BEST!!! Don't waste your time with others. We have experienced other companies in many different capacities and Aqua Care is tops them all.

Irit and Raul did an excellent job on this project. Problems always crop up in large projects and they thoroughly explained what they found and their recommended fix. They were onsite every work day which was a huge plus. I highly recommend them.

Raul came that afternoon. He assessed the situation and gave a reasonable quote for the work to be done. He rebuilt the pipeline and had the pump working in about an hour. He further inspected my pump system and determined that the seals on the valves were leaking and letting air into the pump intake. He proceeded to disassemble the valves and put a temporary fix in with pipe tape. He told me what must be done to permanently fix the problem. He gave straight answers and saved me money. I highly recommend.

We were really pleased with our experience with Aqua Care. I emailed Irit for a quote to install a new pool heater to replace a very old unit. I was comparing a quote I received from another company and Aqua Care not only charged significantly less, but told us that the unit the other company had recommended was not necessary for our system and that the unit wasn't eligible for a rebate, even though the company had told us it was (and she was right). These suggestions alone saved us $600. Irit offered to come look at our system, but we were pressed for time, so she asked that we send a picture instead. She knew exactly what we had and what we needed based on the image, which was super helpful. Aqua Care responded within 12 hours of the initial message I sent, and after a series of emails filled with questions from me, we decided to go with them for the install. I spoke with Irit on the phone on Thursday evening and they installed the unit the next morning. Raul, who came to install, was super sweet, communicative, punctual, and he just knew his stuff. He gave us tips, suggestions on how to keep things working properly, and names of people who could help with other things we needed. He explained why the unit we went with was a good choice and showed us how to use everything. Overall, the price was really fair, the service was quick, Raul and Irit were responsive and knowledgable, and the heater is working so far! I appreciated their straight-forwardness about the whole process.

Raul and his team did an excellent job. I will definitely call on Raul for any future swimming pool projects. Raul is very experienced and knowledgeable and willingly shares his knowledge. Raul and his team exceeded my expectations for this project. Workmanship was professional and pricing was fair. Raul patiently answered all my questions about the project and pool equipment operation. He went above and beyond by identifying and fixing issues related to my spa pump and valves and installing a weir door in my skimmer. Raul cares about his reputation and it shows in the quality of his workmanship and treatment of clients.

The tech showed up when promised and was quick and thorough. He stayed until he double checked for leaks and cleaned up after the work was done. Very professionals and courteous.

They were awesome. They did it quickly, answered all my questions, and had my whole system wired and automated in one day.

Replastering went smoothly. One of the pipe ended up leaking during the replastering process and aqua care step up and took care of it right away. Prompt communicate through text message and email or phone calls. They go above and beyond to educate customers and offer them various options. Definitely will not leave you hanging if something goes wrong.

Aqua Care did an Excellent job Renovating our 70 year old pool! Raul, Irit, Salvador and the Aqua Care team are experienced, knowledgeable, professional and they care about doing a good quality job the right way. Aqua Care crews are skilled professionals and experts at their job. Everything was well planned, scheduled, communicated and executed! Aqua Care repaired the leaky crack in the pool by chipping away & demolishing a section of the pool wall, replacing the rusty rebar, then filling in the newly repaired wall with shotcrete. Aqua Care then replaced the old cracked coping and tiles, added Dec-O-Seal between the coping & existing deck, replaced the old skimmer, added 2 drains on the side of the pool, added a hydrostatic valve for rain, replaced the old pump with a Variable Speed Pump, replaced the light, replastered the pool, hauled away the debris, did the Start-up & is now servicing our Beautiful New Pool! We weren’t planning on renovating the pool, but a few months ago we noticed the pool was loosing water every day and there were 3 cracks in the side of the pool. Leak Solutions came out & detected one of the cracks was leaking water. We searched on Angie’s List, Google & Yelp to find Swimming Pool Leak Repair & Pool Contractors. Most companies repaired cracks in the pool wall with staples, which is just a patch – so we continued searching for companies that repair the structure of the pool. After getting estimates from 3 different Pool Construction companies, we decided to go with Aqua Care, because when Irit came out to check out the pool, she was very knowledgeable and explained the work in great detail, which gave us a better understanding of what needed to be done, and how long it would take to do it properly. Aqua Care was the ONLY company that would demolish the entire 14’ section of the wall with the cracks down to the dirt, then completely remove & replace the old rusty rebar, then fill in the 14’ section with Shotcrete, then plaster. The other companies were only going to cut out sections where the cracks were – one company was going to cut out 3” on both sides of the crack, then clean the rust off the rebar with a wire brush, the other company was going to cut out 6” on either side of the crack & replace sections of the bad rebar. Before signing the contract I met with Irit & her partner Raul. We liked and trusted Irit & Raul very much. They answered all of our questions and concerns, and gave us good advice. The Specifications & Scope of Work on the contract was well planned out with numbers for each job, showing the order of what job would be done each day, and the payment amount due after each job was complete, so we knew what to expect. Originally we only wanted to get the leaky crack repaired & have the pool re-plastered, but because 14’ of the pool wall was being demolished, the stained tiles & cracked coping needed to be replaced as well - also the old skimmer had been patched, so it made sense to replace skimmer & get a new variable speed pump too! Irit & Raul told us the LADWP was offering a $1000 rebate to replace your old pump with a new Variable Speed Pump from a certified installer and it would save us money on our LADWP bill. Raul installed the pump, helped me fill out the LADWP rebate forms & Irit printed me a copy of the Installers Certifcate & Invoice, along with photo’s we took before and after to mail to LADWP. The cost of the new pump was $1300 from Aqua Care & we are going to get a $1000 rebate from LADWP! We wanted to keep the pool looking as original as possible with the textured speckled rock coping & 1950’s Fish Tiles, but they don’t make the same tiles & coping as they did in the 1950’s. Originally the pool had solid Aqua Blue 6”x6” Tiles and with 3 1950’s Fish Tiles. Irit, Raul and Salvador were helpful with my quest for 50’s Fish Tiles & were careful to save 2 of the original Fish Tiles from demolition, just in case! We decided on “Light Blue” 6”x6” Tiles “Universal Tiles”, that were close to the original Aqua tiles. Universal Tiles referred us to “Artistry in Mosaics” in Florida & they took a Fish Tile design our friend re-created from the original Fish Tile and they custom made 8 New Fish Tiles through Irit’s tile order with Universal. The 8 Custom Fish Tiles cost an additional $480 plus shipping, took a couple weeks to make and postponed the work one week, but these tiles are very cool and were totally worth it. Aqua Care was flexible with their schedule to accommodate us waiting for the Fish Tiles! We are very happy! The entire job took about 13 days over a month period plus the Start Up. Not all days were full days, depending on the job & weather. There was a week of rain & a week of waiting for the custom tiles. Irit was on top of everthing!!! ☺ Irit would text me every night to keep me informed of the next day’s schedule or if anything was being delivered etc. The crews were skilled, professional and on time. The materials were delivered ahead of the work, the plaster & shotcrete trucks were right on time too. Everything went well! We highly recommend Aqua Care for all your swimming pool needs! We LOVE our beautiful new pool & new pool service! Thank you Aqua Care! ☺
