Jaime & Son Custom Tile & Stone Works

Jaime was obviously knowledgeable in his field and extremely professional. He scheduled a meeting for us at his tile distributer's show room to take a look at a variety of samples (different sizes etc..) gave me recommendations and justification that made perfect sense. I picked out three different sizes and types, he provided me with an honest estimate for each that I was interested in so I could make an informed decision. His estimates were more than reasonable. His team arrived on time, did a beautiful job, and were finished when they indicated they would be. They were personable, professional and very talented. I would highly recommend them and will definitely hire them for any future tiling needs I may have in the future.

First I asked for estimate for shower tile repair. He says 400 dollars and when he removes broken tile might 100 dollars more, he had to inspect floor underneath. I said OK. I should have asked for written contract but I didn't. I trusted him since I read a good review on Angie's list. His word was good enough for me. I said go ahead and start the work. He said he would start in a couple of days and would start at 8am. He didn't arrive till 9:45 and stayed about 30 minutes then left. He said he would order materials then come back. It was about 2 weeks when I called him to ask when he would finish the work. He then told me he material and would come on Monday at 8am but he never showed up. I called him at around 10am he said that he was in San Jose. I then said common courtesy says to call me and let me know since my day consisted of waiting for him to do the work. When he did come back he said I owed him 300 dollars for materials. I wrote him a check for the amount of 300 dollars. He the tells me it will cost me am additional 150 dollars in labor. I then say to him total cost of job will be 550 dollars correct. He says no that is just labor materials are extra. I then say to him that we agreed on 400 dollars plus maybe 100 dollars more once he check floor in shower. He then tells me he didn't know how much materials were going to cost. I tell he should have told me that when he gave me estimate. I asked for estimate that he repair shower tile and ready for shower to be used again. He said 400 dollars. I said adding more is not right and I said you are tile expert and s you should have known what materials cost or at least told me in the estimate that the 400 dollars was for labor only. I also said your son was here when you gave me estimate. I told him if I had known it was going to cost 900 dollars I would have got several estimates. He then says I don't want to take any shortcuts but that is the price. I told him to finish work and said to him his business practices were wrong and terrible. I will never do business with person again and will never recommend him to anyone. He was always late to arrive and no courtesy when he didn't arrive and said he would. I was also disappointed in Angie's list for review I read on this person. This person (Jaime and Son) in my option was very deceitful. I know I should take partial blame for not putting it in writing but I do trust people and thought his word was trustworthy but it wasn't. I realized he has no honor in his word. NEVER will I do busines with Jaime and Son Custom Tile

We had to cut our budget for tile at the moment. So tile work will be done with other remodeling project. But we are happy with the quality of work done for others.

Overall it went very well.

Forgot to show up for appointment until I called about 1 hour later. Decided I better look elsewhere. May be fine for others didn't work for me.

Jaime had done work for my wife and I several times in the past two years. He has retiled our office floor in our newly purchased home as well as renovating and retiling our master shower/bathroom. He is meticulous in his attention to detail and consistently produces results that are no less than spectacular. I recommend him to anyone who is looking for the very best in tile work.
