"I enjoyed doing it for you. Sorry for the late response. Taking care of elderly family members. Thanks, Barry"
"Thank you very much [Member Name Removed]. We have had a lot of rain this week and last week. Both times would have allowed the sprinkler timer to be turned off for a week. All the best, Barry"
"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for taking the time to write a review. It is much appreciated.."
"Thank you very much. It is always good when one can improve the lives of animals. Hope the house becomes a happy house with the new puppy. Hope the new puppy gets along with the cat. :-)"
"Thank you. Hope your outdoor living room provides a source of happiness during the summer."
"Thank you very much. I hope your front lawn heals. During the winter you could get it re-established with winter rye seed, which will help the existing lawn, in the spring and summer. Good luck, Aussie Landscape"
We obtained estimates from several landscaping outfits, including a referral from a neighbor who recently had their lawn done, and some other highly rated Angie's List companies. All of the folks we met with were very professional, and we probably would have been happy with their work as well had we gone with them.
However, when we met Barry for the first time for an estimate, my wife and I were thoroughly impressed. Barry actually stopped by for an estimate during his lunch break from another job he was working on, and even though he was probably strapped for time, he was very thorough and took his time looking over the yard and chatting with us.
One of the things we were super impressed with is that we had originally planned to sod and put grass over the entire back yard, including a part of our side yard (and the other vendors gave us quotes for that). Barry actually advised us against that, and he explained about how certain parts of the yard during the year based on our house and where we were situated may not receive the proper amount of sunlight during the winter months, and could mean that long term we wouldn't have a healthy lawn. Even though that bit of advice may have cost him a little short term revenue, that attention to detail, honesty, passion and knowledge about his craft made us a long term partner in our eyes.
After Barry left and gave us an window when we could expect the estimate (a couple of days), my wife and I were definitely sold on Barry, and just hoping the estimate came in close to the other ones we received. We actually were at a point that if Barry's was even a little bit higher than some of our others, we'd still be willing to go with him. To our amazement, Barry's estimate came in lower that our others, which sealed the deal immediately.
One of the other things about Aussie Landscape is that you are dealing with not only Barry the owner, but Barry the professional who does also does the work. He and his assistant Jim (who helped him the first day on cleanout and was also super nice) were prompt and got right to work. Over the next several days Barry really transformed our dirtpile into a beautiful lush lawn. He was very good about explaining things along the way and making recommendations for different types of flowers and plants that we could grow later and would complement the lawn and have a good chance of thriving in the area.
Barry finished the project on time and he even wrote up a list of future care for the lawn to keep it nice and healthy. He even came back for a courtesy visit the week after to check up on the lawn and check the sprinkler settings to see if they needed to be adjusted.
Needless to say, it's been a little over a month since Barry put in our new lawn and it still looks gorgeous. The recommendations and advice he gave us was great, and he didn't try to upsell us or try and change things to change up the project (which some other contractors are notorious for doing).
We would highly recommend Barry to anyone looking at doing some landscaping and want a knowledgeable, hardworking and super nice professional who truly enjoys the work he does and seems to genuinely care about the long term satisfaction and happiness of his clients. The next time we need any sort of landscape project, we won't need to shop around - we've found our long term landscaping expert in Barry and Aussie Landscape!b
"Thank you very much. Your project had a few challenges (like finding and grading towards the drains) but we accomplished it. :-) With winter rye, and fertilizing in the spring, your front lawn will also look a lot better. Good luck, and thank you again."
We set a day for him to return--but I needed to change the date by a week and he kindly accomadated the new date and time!
He came today, did all the work and was kind enough to explain what he was doing and showed me how the new system would work. He finished by adjusting the sprinklers for me as well as making some good suggestions for things that I was able to do myself to improve the system. Also shared great gardening advise--and we were able to swap a couple of 'grandparent' stories too.I am SO VERY glad to have found him--Deffinitely will keep him on my list of trusted folks to call and recommend! He is a wealth of information, so forthcoming and helpful and kind. Well done....
"Thank you very much. It was a pleasure working with you. I hope all those new fruit trees give you plenty of fruit in the future."
"Thank you very much. Long time no see. :-) I hope you both have survived through the house painting and new hardscape, and your house now looks spic and span. Have a great summer."
"Thank you very much. I hope the new timer makes your watering schedule easier than the old antique timer you had. :-) Also hope that you are able to put distractions to keep the bunnies away. (Right now they are all busy eating chocolate from Easter. :-) )"
"Thank you very much. I enjoyed working for you. I hope in the future I'll be able to help you with some drought tolerant plants for low water use."
"Thank you for your kind words. I will be happy to do another phase for you in April."
"Thank you very much. I enjoyed tackling the huge problem solving with your drip system. Hope you get lots of fruit and veggies in the spring."
"I enjoyed working for a true gentleman. Hope the flowers give lots of color in the spring. Still no rain in sight, so keep the timer running regularly. Barry"
Barry and Jim did an outstanding job removing a large plum tree from our front yard, replaced it with a new tree and trimmed two additional trees. Barry was very responsive when we called to inquire about the project. He called us right back within a few minutes and came out to give us a bid the same day. He was able to schedule the service within a week. Barry and Jim were very professional, meticulous and cleaned up completely when they were done. It was great to have the company owner (and his son) actually on site to do the work. We would highly recommend Aussie Landscape and would definitely use them again. Thank you!
"Thank you or your kind words. We enjoyed working for you. Barry"
Barry had come out a few weeks earlier to give me an estimate. He was on time for the estimate
and took the time to walk around my front and back yards and discuss the issues/problems with me.
On the day of the repair work Barry was on time, polite and professional. The 5 valves to be replaced
were difficult to access and it was not an easy job. Barry took the time to do the replacement correctly.
He also performed a check of all my sprinklers. The grass and bushes had grown up around a number
of the sprinklers so Barry cleared an area around each of the sprinklers to improve their operation.
He also took the time to answer questions about our various plants and trees and he even went so far as to write
out his thoughts and recommendations. Barry charged me exactly what the estimate called for. My wife and I were definitely
happy with Barry's work and will call on him again if we have further problems and will also call him for a Spring tune-up.
"Thank you for your comments. It was a pleasure working for you. I hope the palm survives the spring, but if not we can take care of it for you. Barry"
"Thank you very much. I hope the slope situation works out to your satisfaction. :-)"
"Thank you very much. You will now have more control over your irrigation of the front yard and its special requirements."
"Thankyou very much. It was a pleasure working for you."
"Thankyou very much. I hope the water company was able to shed some light on your water pressure situation."
"Thankyou very much [member name removed]. It was a pleasure working for you, and hopefully I will be able to do that again in the fall. Barry"
He responded to our first phone call, set a date and was promptly there when he said he would be. He estimated a week for completion but, was finished a day early. He does impeccable work and conscientious to every detail. He is an extremely hard worker: dug the footings himself, poured the concrete, set the posts, etc. by himself. He left our yard completely clean and zero damage to existing plants and surrounding area.
Our new fence looks fabulous! Thanks Barry!
"Thankyou very much. It was a pleasure working for you, plus I enjoyed the various problem solving situations with this project."
"Thank you for this and your previous review. Happy holidays."
