I had used Mike at Westside Construction previously for a major kitchen remodeling which turned out beautifully. With this terrible, destructive mess, he responded immediately, and returned my home to its original state. His response was immediate, unlike the insurance company . The work was impeccable. All of his employees were hardworking and efficient. My home was restored to better than before the flood quickly and efficiently, and actually looking better than before this disaster.

This is the third contract in our project, added to complete functionality and final appearance. Old chain link looked worse and worse after new paving and patio went in. Removing plantings to install asphalt created lack of privacy and exposed "missing" parts of block wall. The results are impressive, looking like the wall was complete all along. As always Mike and his crew did a professional and seamless job. We are very please with Westside Construction and will call upon Mike Signorelli the next time we have construction to be done. I have given out referrals all along.

We added these projects as soon as original remodel was completed. Mike and his crew did such a good job that older components looked more in need of attention. He extended his time to make further changes to the property as requested. He effortlessly customized replacement features, such as new storage door, to match existing and made the buildings match. We have received multiple compliments on the updated appearance and are pleased with results. Mike suggested colors and high quality materials to maximize value. He works well with owners and managers for a smooth transition.

In addition to performing contracted work, Mike assisted with several design decisions. We usually took his suggestions and appreciated the good communication. Not replacing serviceable components saved money and time. An example is, I thought we needed a new electrical panel due to the age of the house. Mike pointed out it was up to code and did not need replacing. That impressed me and inspired confidence. He told us about a new vinyl flooring product that turned out beautifully, providing a waterproof and attractive look. The surveillance system comes with lots of high resolution cameras, monitor, and interface with cell phones. Quality is impressive. Westside Construction went above and beyond with our custom gate and fencing. Appearance of the property is improved drastically. Work was done with a minimum of disruption to daily operations. Mike always answered the phone and was patient with my erratic availability. We like his work so much we added two projects subsequently.

Whenever we hit the inevitably road blocks that come with remodeling, Mike worked with me to help come up with the best functional alternative that fit my needs. (Not simply pushing what would be easy for him)

Mike and his team do exceptional quality work. Thats all that mattered to my wife and I. The job ended up going on longer than I had hoped, but grew to much much higher quality than I ever dreamed of. Mike showed great passion for excellence, and "doing things right" and had an incredible skill at aesthetics, color choice, and design. With his years of experience as a builder and painter he knows just about everything in this world. We were lucky to have found him and hired him.
Its very tough to trust someone with this much money at stake. As the job went along I began to trust Mike and his team more and more with design and style choices and they did not let me down. My wife and I collaborated well with Mike. Mike has a strong personality and strong opinions, so sometimes it takes a little while to agree, but its all because of his passion for making things look good.
Mike always answers the phone and is very professional to work with. He likes keeping the job site clean and nice. He always helps figure out ways to save some $ and talked me through options to cut costs.
Originally we started out with a bid for $150k on the remodel, and as we began my wife and I kept adding things, and with Mike we came up with additional costs associated, and approved them as necessary. His quality of work is so good, you just want to keep doing things with him and his team. By the end of the job we are up to near $240000, and very happy with everything.
Framers were excellent and fast.
Roofers were excellent and fast.
Plumbers were good and very helpful.
Electrical was done by Mike's workers, and was great. Lots of options for dimmers and under-counter lighting. :)
Stucco came out beautiful.
Quartz/ granite countertops and showers was done beautifully - very happy.

Westside Construction was contracted to build an outside patio, perform electrical work, wood removal from the facade of the house and re-stucco. The owner Mike arrived on time for the initial meet and project walk-around. However, the tension started from the moment the contract was signed and the deposit check cut. Mike had complained that the check was from the credit union we use and not the regular bank where he could cash it the same day and not wait 3 days for the check to clear. He had asked for cash or the bankers check, yet had to accept the regular check. He started the project with prepping the back wall of the house for electrical. His crew had banged through the old stucco, ripped through the 60 Min Black paper (which is a water barrier) threading the electrical wire through the studs without protecting them with metal plates as the code requires. All the holes were quickly covered by the Quickrete cement to be concealed from us and the inspector. As the result the water barrier was damaged and the wall needed to be completely repaired - with new black paper, lath, a layer of brown coat and metal plates over the studs. When working on electrical his crew also started prepping for re-stucco. The agreed upon contract required the old stucco to be sandblasted and was included in the initial bid. Sandblasting is very important step during re-stucco process as it removes the old paint and loose stucco pieces to prevent new layer of stucco to develop cracks. However when they started the prep, Mike decided to replace the sandblasting with the manual hand scraping. To which we had objected and demanded him to obey the contract and prep with sandblasting. Mike got upset and told us that his walking away from the contract and the project leaving exposed electrical, stripped facade, and open holes he dug out for patio pillars.We ended scrambling for a new contractor to finish what he started before the rains. On top of that, we ended paying extra for fixing up the damaged wall and botched electrical. Beware and avoid!

"Please let me start by saying that if you take a minute to look at my reviews and ratings you'll see that Westside Construction has a perfect rating! With that being said, I will briefly explain. I did start a job for [member name removed] and signed a contract with him, he then offered to issue me a check was from a credit union in New Jersey that I would not accept because of the waiting time for it to clear. This is reasonable in my business. But unfortunately [member name removed] had a tendency to want to add things to the contract that weren't included! He also was difficult to please, apparently there had been other issues with other contractors and they had quit and never came back to finish. I did make several holes in his exterior wall for electrical and I did place a temporary patch on them after I realized I could NOT make him happy no matter what I did! I explained to his wife my situation and she apologized to me and my men for his over top behavior, I returned all his money except a few hundred for the dumpster etc. He agreed to end this in a amicable way and he signed a release of liability and responsibility. I must remind readers that this was started in March of 2015, 9 months ago???"

Mike was great! I was able to schedule an appointment with him just a day after I called. He sent the bid in a timely manner, and it was priced better than other estimates we received. He was able to begin work shortly after that and was flexible with moving the start date back 2 days due to some delays with the adjuster and the insurance company. He was also able to perform the task quickly and on time, which was important so that we could move the tenants back in ASAP. I've worked with several contractors before and he is the first one to follow through on his timeline. His workers are good guys. They always show up on time and do a good job.
After the work was done we realized there was a threshold that hadn't been installed, so I let Mike know and he sent his floor guy out 2 days later to fix it, free of charge. We also needed Mike to sign some paperwork for insurance purposes and I was easily able to set up a time to meet with him .
Mike is a great contractor, easy to work with and get ahold of. I highly recommend him and will use him again in the future.
After the work was done we realized there was a threshold that hadn't been installed, so I let Mike know and he sent his floor guy out 2 days later to fix it, free of charge. We also needed Mike to sign some paperwork for insurance purposes and I was easily able to set up a time to meet with him .

Mike did a great job overall. His contract proposal was well written. Used quality materials. All the cabinets he installed were great quality.
There were some problems that caused a delay on the desired completion date. Probably since this was a condo on the 3rd floor of a multi story complex. Compliance with condo homeowners policies for contractors created scheduling conflicts. Plus having the work started in 3rd week of October with November (holidays) up to December.
Mike is always accessible. He answers his phone all the time. We wanted a contractor who is a hands-on owner. In the end we are happy despite the bumps and delays. Will not hesitate to recommend him anytime.

Their job included multiple trips to the building department and presentations to the architectural committee.
We had to change the design, based on the committee recommendations. It was a much bigger job that expected, but Mike and the guys stuck with it and we now have a beautiful building.

In both cases, the people at Westside were very professional and meticulous. The plumbing problem involved, among other things, removing part of the wall, drying it out, replacing and repainting it, and repairing the floor where it had buckled. After they had finished all evidence of the damage had been removed. This was several months ago, and I have had no problems since then. Replacing the windows was complicated because of the different sizes of the windows.
I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to others.

The job has gone amazingly well. He does excellent, and never leaves a mess behind. He always keeps me updated on the progress on the project via phone calls, and sends me pictures so I can see the work for myself. I would highly recommend him for any construction project.

Mike and the team did sterling work under difficult conditions, working in very tight attic space and under the subfloor, and managed to replace all old fixtures/sockets without significant damage to the walls, tile or decor. Patched and painted a couple of areas that were un-reachable so they now look like new. Installed 4 ceiling fans, external security lighting, and addressed other minor electrical issues (e.g. non-installed or covered boxes). High quality, professional work as always.

Excellent, as always. The bookshelves are of very high quality and look great in the room. Very functional as well, with built-in desk. Swingset area is very nice and provides a safe, flat area on a hillside yard for my children to play. Another great job by Mike and the team!
