I hired Adolfo for several reasons:
-When he came to give me an estimate, he struck me as very conscientious and observant.
-His bid was exceptionally competitive.
-Other reviews on Angieslist cited his honesty and the quality of his work.
-One of his competitors recommended him and said that the quality of his work was excellent.
I found all of these things to be true. There were hiccups in the job, but Adolfo handled all of them well and with good humor. When his crew began demoing the existing floor, they immediately suspected asbestos in the glue. Adolfo notified me right away, and even took a sample of the glue for testing. When it was found to contain asbestos, the job was delayed while we had to have an asbestos contractor remove the flooring (there is a mandatory 10-day waiting period after you hire the contractor, so it ended up being 2 weeks at least). 
Once the floor had been removed, Adolfo and his crew return to the job promptly. The scope of the work had changed to include installing a new subfloor in one room, which they did with ease. He also did extensive leveling in three different rooms and on two different surfaces (one room was on concrete slab, the others had subfloors). The engineered floors look absolutely fantastic.
He hand-refinished and distressed hardwood maple plank stairs and risers with bullnosing to match the look of the engineered floors and installed the stairs. The stairs look exceptionally good with the floors.
He also installed base moldings throughout; installed very thin moldings and stained them to match existing, darker built-in wood cabinets; and sanded and refinished the thresholds for two set of French doors to match the floors.
The overall effect is very striking. I would recommend Adolfo's work very highly.

We used Adolfo and crew again to refinish the floor in the guest bedroom. The work was done perfectly and it looks beautiful. They are a professional crew and always easy to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend or use them again.

Great. Adolfo and his guys did a great job. It was a tricky, difficult job on a big house, but is turned out great and completely transformed the way my first floor looks. Communication was not always perfect, and I was a little nervous without strong communication, but in the end it looked great, and the price was very reasonable. 
Also worth mentioning: I got 4 quotes, and met with each individual contractor. I picked this one and am happy with my decision. 
I would use them again.

Adolfo's excellent. I'm a builder and he does all my houses; this review is long overdue. His pricing is quite fair, he is punctual, responsive and responsible. He will always return to the site to make a correction if needed, without hesitation. He is very plain-spoken, but honest and again, reliable. He's as good with natural wood as manufactured. He'll sand and refinish, or do a new floor if required, both with equal skill. He's excellent and I don't hesitate to recommend him. You'll not be disappointed.

The overall quality of the work that was completed was excellent, and actually better than the hardwood company I used previously.
The were a couple of glitches which included:
1) minor stains on the crown moldings where they did the work
2) one room had a slight blemish
I just completed a major house remodel and worked with half a dozen contractors and subcontractors. 
What distinguishes Adolfo and his company is their professionalism and honesty.  When I pointed out some of the blemishes from their work he was willing to work out a fair compromise in settling the final bill. He was more than willing to redo the blemish, but I asked for a discount because I didn't want to subject my family to 2-3 days of resanding and toxic stain odors.   These guys don't cut corners, and I can tell they take pride in their work.  What is very telling about a company and their workers is just whether their work is good, but how prompt and reliable they are in handling problems as they arise.  Problems happen on most home remodeling projects as anyone who's done one knows, but its how the company works with the owner to resolve the issues that sets them apart.

project.  They were very very professional and wanted to make absolutely sure we were happy with the job.
We purchased our wood from Corona Hardwood who also had the best prices for the wood.  Adolfo
did not care that we purchased the wood from a hardwood vendor. 
His prices are extremely fair.

Their price was the best of the three estimates and they were very helpful in helping me pick the right stain to cover old stains... You can't even see them now!   I loved using these guys!

They did an excellent job and their prices were reasonable. He was prompt and on time for the appointment. He had a good crew with him and he was clean. Scheduling was great and he told me the dates he would be available and he never missed a day. It took them about 3 days to a week to complete the work. He was super and bi-lingual which was a huge plus. I have refereed them to others.

Redwood Hardwood Flooring is the best!  Owner Adolfo was knowledgeable, thorough, and extremely patient in answering all my questions.  I needed a lot of help making a decision since I wasn't 100% sure I wanted hardwood and knew very little about my options.  Adolfo gave me the information and never pressured me for a decision.  He even came back to my home to recheck something.  His price was fair, and the floors look amazing!  I'm so happy with the results and highly recommend Redwood Hardwood Flooring. 

Adolfo is top notch.  He was straightforward with bidding and his prices were reasonable.  He explained what the installation process was and how much time each part would take so I could plan accordingly - and he was on time every step of the way. When I wanted to add a room at the last minute, he was flexible and fair.  Best of all, he went out of his way to solve problems that weren't his making and I am very appreciative of that.  He truly wants to please his clients.  My floors are beautiful and dealing with him was a delight. I will definitely use him again.

They were extremely meticulous, they took a lot of extra time to get it right as opposed to just finishing the job. And the time that they indicated, there were a lot issues that they came across that we didn't think would appear. Because my house is an old house, and they didn't even charge me extra to sort of deal with them, fix them which certainly were not the things that they had planned. They just did the job and they really truly, just cared about making me happy and to make sure that it looked good. They were great and the floors were beautiful and perfect.

We learned from our builder that Adolfo had installed the wood floors when our house was constructed.  The quality was excellent.  We therefore contacted his firm to install hardwood in four upstairs rooms that had been carpeted.  The installation was handled beautifully from the delivery of the wood to the finished floors.  The installers were very neat and left the house in wonderful shape at the end of a day's work - no sawdust flying around.  Additionally, I was not always available to be home and Adolfo was very accommodating in working around my schedule.  They matched the original stain perfectly (the original flooring was installed about 5 years ago).  If we ever have flooring concerns, we will definitely call Adolfo!

Adolfo and his team did an amazing job. I an so happy with the floors. I never believed that the floors could have turned out so beautiful. I was ready with a back up plan if I ended up not liking the floors but I love them. I have photos if anyone wants them.

Adolpho was timely and did a wonderful repair job at our home in the San Fernando Valley. He was on time for the estimate & work, gave a reasonable price and did an excellent quality repair and match-up to the red oak hardwood floor. I had purchased the wood a month in advance for acclamation and he did the rest of the skilled work to match & finish the floor. The job took two days. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to others.

We have a 90 year old house that's had a lot damage over the years from water, carpet nails, etc. Adolfo and his crew came in and transformed our house completely. He replaced all the damaged wood, filled all the holes. We were so happy with the refinishing and repair he did in our living room and bedrooms, that we had him put new wood in the den and kitchen. The whole house is now seamless... You can't tell which is the old and which is the new wood.

Adolfo arrived on time for our estimate appointment.  He was very professional and my husband and I received a quote quickly.  We originally thought we would need a few wood panels replaced becasue of the stains and squeeking we can hear in one of the bedrooms but Adolfo explained to us and showed us that the squeeking was actually coming from the beams underneath the floors.  He explained that our floors didn't need new panels and the beams could be simply be fixed.  After hearing this from him, we felt a bit more comfortable and realized he was honest.  He didn't try to sell additional service of replacing panels when we didn't really need them.  He followed up with us after the estimate and that made us feel he was really interested in working for us.  We had a different expierence with another contractor whom didn't seem that interested and kind of rushed through our house to take measurments.  Adolfo did not rush through the process, he took measurements and gave us a great estimate.  Although the contract asked for a deposit, he didn't accept any money from us.  He stated he wanted to show us his work first and then he would take the funds.  This demonstrated to us that he was an honest man.  His previous reviews  are all great which gave us assurance about the quality of his work.  Adolfo and his crew arrived on time on the date the work would begin.  He had samples for us to choose the stain from and by the end of the day he had stained three sample sections on our floors so that we can have a better look of what the stain would look like.  We then chose a stain from the samples on our floors and they continued the work.  The work is in the process of being completed as I'm making this review so we haven't seen the finished product but I am confident he will do a great job.  I would totally recommend him to friends and family and if we ever need any floor services we will definitely give him a call.

This is the second home where I have used the services of Adolfo of Redwood Hardwood Flooring.  He is extremely professional, and came to both my homes a number of times to help me select the proper flooring for my home.  He is extremely patient and very pleasant to deal with.  Since my last project was a remodel of the home, he came out to my home to even help assist with the proper placement of the tile going in to help me and the tile company make sure that the tile and the hardwood floor would both be level at the meeting joints.  His installers were wonderful, and worked with me throughout the project to make sure that I was happy with the selection of the wood placement.  Incredibly, once the floor was completed, another contractor had made an error with a hanging of a door and created damage to an area of my floor.  I called Adolfo and he came to my home, and did a beautiful repair which I didn't even think was possible.  

I have worked with many contractors, and I would say that my experience with Adolfo is always a pleasant one and the most enjoyable.  I know that I am in very capable hands.

I have referred family members to him, and they have been equally happy.

Overall, the outcome was great! The floors look amazing and Adolfo and his team handled the work very quickly and efficiently. They even worked on the weekend so that by Monday I could begin moving all my furniture back in the house and resume my work from home without interruption. Great, good quality, fast, efficient work!

Adolfo was punctual for the estimate.  He didn't hesitate when I asked if he could also move furniture for me.  He said no problem.  He measured and gave me an estimate.  I asked him if it was possible to get it done before I had my new windows put in the following Friday.  Once again no hesitation.  He said he could start the next day which would give the floor time to dry before the window install.  My first impressions were so positive I hired him on the spot without any other estimates.  (Very unlike me!) 
His crew showed up on time the next morning.  He explained the process to me.  After much trial and error we decided the furniture would have to go into the kitchen.  No easy task but they did it without nicking anything.  They masked off everything to prevent dust from going on the ceiling fan and into the other rooms.  (Although they do use a dustless system which was great and cut down on all the usual dust.)  They spent all day sanding and buffing and vacuuming and then applied the first coat.  He explained that the first coat will feel rough to the touch but not to worry the next coats would be smooth.  The next two days they arrived and sanded and applied two more coats.  Adolfo never rushed the drying process and said he prefers to space the coats 24 hours apart.  They then arrived on the fourth day to move the furniture back.  Which they did without nicking anything again.  They also vacuumed my couch, put felt pads on the furniture (which I had and just asked if it was a good idea to which he said yes and proceeded to put them on all my pieces.)  And then they actually moved a few more pieces in that they didn't even take out.  All without any hesitation and with a smile on his face. 
To top it off the floor is beautiful.  He even sanded out cut lines that had been there from the first time I got the floor done 12 years ago and the guy cut the floor when he was tearing out the carpet.  He also offered to do the door threshold that was painted over that I never even thought about.  Also the baseboards still look wonderful.  He was very careful of my baseboards.
Adolfo made something I had dreaded getting done into an actual pleasant experience.  He is a professional, great at his craft, respectful, and a nice person to do business with.  I would highly recommend him to my friends and family. 

The crew always showed up on time, worked efficiently and quietly, cleaned up with great care, and were in all respects professional and extremely competent.  They are masterful craftsmen.  By necessity, the project had to be done in stages.  Each floor had to be done over several days and some rooms couldn't be started until others were finished. When the weather didn't cooperate, and the floor wasn't dry enough for the next application of product they came back hours later or the next day , even if it was a Saturday, rather than rush through and compromise the quality of the work.  The pricing was very fair and competitive.  Adolofo was always informative, easy to communicate with and followed through without a hitch.  They get my very highest recommendation.

The work began exactly on time (they worked 12 hours the 1st day) and was finished on the 4th day.  The workmen were very careful in removing furniture and paintings and they protected the rest of the house from the sanding by carefully sealing connecting doorways..  While the estimate for the work was calculated while the floors were still covered with carpet, when the carpet was removed a small portion of water damaged floorboard was revealed.   The contractor, Adolfo, replaced the damaged boards and declined to add any additional charge for the material and labor.  I was very pleased with their work and intend to have them refinish 2 more rooms for me.

Adolfo arrived on time to do a very professional estimate. They came on time to perform the job, left the place quite clean and the finished work was beautiful. I have NO complaint abut the work and I will use this company again for future work, as I am planning more work.Strongly recommended.
