Protector Pest Control

The man showed up without an appointment and I told him that we wanted the interior sprayed but were not prepared to leave the house for the recommended period of 4 hours. I asked if he could come back another day and he suggested that I talk to the owner, Brad, to make an appointment. I did this and was told that on a previous day, weeks ago, the man had shown up at our door and found that no one was at home. If he had sprayed the property as usual and left a bill, I would have sent Brad a check. He told me that, if this happens again, he will terminate the service. He said that we were and quot;always homeand quot; and should have been there. But, like everyone else, we have things to do away from home and are not always there. I was not at home on the previous occasion because a death in the family and appointment as executor of the estate had immersed me in time-consuming details and deadlines. Brad's threat seems like a shabby and bizarre way to deal with someone who has been a steady and cooperative customer for over ten years. I never knew Brad to be arbitrary and told him that I don't like ultimatums and would find another company.

The overall experience is excellent. They do just fine.

Whenever they come out, it is always a great experience. They have always been good, and I will definitely continue to use their services.

Badly. They could not stop the gopher from reappearing.

I had a bee hive under a shed next to a path which I walk on several times a day to help my dad who lives next door. My Dad also uses the path to come to my home for dinner most evenings and is very unsteady on his feet and slow. I did not want him to get stung. The bee's flight path was right at the level of my head to get down to the opening at the bottom of the shed. I told the owner, Greg, that it was pretty urgent, so he sent someone the next day. The worker was prompt and very efficient. He sprayed something into the hole and closed it up. He warned me that the bees that were out of the hive would be trying to come back to the hole for a day or two and then would be gone. They never came back. Next he treated my gopher holes in the front lawn which I and my gardner had been fighting for some time. He only had to treat them once and they never came back. I have used this company for everything from possums to scorpions. They always give me extended advice on the phone if I prefer to treat the problem myself and never ask me to sign a contract for multiple visits. They asked me to call within a certain amount of time if the problem recurs so we can nip it in the bud, but don't have a mandatory schedule of visits like other companies do. It's been 10 months and the neither problem has recurred.

We found a scorpion in our kitchen. The owner, Brad took lots of time on the phone helping us to understand more about scorpions. He gave us the number of the County Dept. of Agriculture entymologist, who in turn told us to send him the specimen. It turned out to be a very venemous species, not normally found in our county, and must have come home in our bags from a recent trip out of state. The County recommended we have the house examined and sprayed immediately. So we called The Protector Pest Control Co. right back. The employee showed right up on time as promised and did a thorough spraying inside, outside and garage. He was neat, courteous and professional. What is unusual is that we had called Protector a few months ago when we had a possum living under the house and he gave us detailed instructions on how to get him out and repel them in the future - all for free on the phone insisting that we did not need to pay for his services - and it worked like a charm. That is why we called them first when we had this new problem. I really appreciated their wide knowledge, their willingness to share that, and the fact that they did not try to sign us up for monthly spraying or an ongoing contract. I will never call another exterminator except Protector Pest Control.
