It is comfortable sitting down if you are waiting and you know what the price is going to be. It is staffed well and they have little coffee machines. There is area that is a playroom for kids to be at. They have multiple dealerships. It is so busy so in regard to customers coming in you have to make an appointment. You are rolling the dice to just go in there and drop something off. They are good. I would recommend them and they will take care of your car. We had a challenging scheduling thing. They are not busy, but you can't get a walk in.
I had done extensive research to prepare for our visit to a Honda dealership to get my Accord. I had offers from several dealerships' internet departments using CarsDirect and Consumer Reports referrals. Chris sent me a quote that was lower than other quotes. (There was actually one other dealership that verbally quoted a lower amount, but would not send it in writing--so who knows what we would have actually paid.)
This morning, we walked into our appointment with Chris, with our car quote and lease quote in hand, prepared to walk out, if need be. We fully expected to have to deal with dealer add-ons --like two dealerships' must-have "Protection Package" (wheel locks, trunk tray and mud flaps), alarm, etc., as well as other expenses that would raise the amount we would actually pay for the car. Boy were we wrong! We paid exactly what Chris had quoted to me by email!
Chris was super-personable, calm and easy to talk to, and he leased us exactly the car we wanted with no surprises. It was all very straight-forward and simple, with zero pressure! I can see why Galpin Honda was ranked the #2 Honda dealership in 2013!
We are so pleased with our entire experience with Chris Sandoval and Galpin Honda! We are happy to recommend them without reservation, and when our lease is up in 3 years, we will definitely be back! Thank you so much, Chris!
We'd looked for a few months for a new car we wanted and finally decided a 2012 Honda CR-V would best suit our needs. By that time, most of the lots in our area only had the most expensive trim line although they all said they'd get others in the beginning of March. We'd researched and determined we wanted to pay dealer invoice. We called around and asked who could get us the trim line we wanted and were willing to show us their invoice. One said that CR-Vs are a popular car and they couldn't do invoice. Most said to come in and they'd "make us a good deal" but vague about showing us the invoice; whether they had the car we wanted, etc.
We loathe the car-haggling process! so didn't go in person to any of the above dealers to get a price (and spend hours of our time).
Had seen good reviews online about Ricky Pennington so called Galpin and asked for him. He faxed us a break down of the price of the car we wanted including tax, title, mandatory recycling fees, etc. Compared it to what we found online as invoice price (on several websites) and it was virtually the same. Told him we didn't want anything added by a dealer, the colors we wanted and on his day off (the next day), he found one. However, it had two things added by the dealer he got it from. He told us that and what the price would be. It wasn't much so we agreed (probably could have haggled about that but didn't). This was all done over the phone in advance.
Made an appointment on a Saturday to buy the car once we drove it. He called Friday and asked if we could push our appointment back a half hour so he wouldn't have to rush us. We did; he was ready for us and the whole process was smooth. It took several hours because we were trading in a car and also they had to see if they could match the pre-approved auto loan we came in with (they did so we went with them).
Of course their finance person tried to sell us several dealer insurance things: extra-maintenance plan, special coating on the car, etc. She was specific about what everything covered and clearly wanted to sell but wasn't nasty when we turned it all down. She explained everything we were signing and didn't push us when we actually took the time to read everything.
The only disappointment was on our trade-in. We didn't expect to get a fantastic price for it at a dealer and especially since they were giving us a very good price on the new Honda but were surprised at the VERY low-ball initial offer. We're terrible hagglers so took $200. below the minimum price we'd decided we'd take for it (what can I say? we're wusses).
Ricky went over everything on our new car to make sure we knew how to use it. He took as much time as we needed. He's followed up since then to see if we had questions and make sure we're happy with everything.
If you're looking for a straightforward buying experience for a good price, try Ricky.
