This is an old (25+ years) A/C central heat/Air unit.

We had another AC specialist come out and and quot;cleanand quot; the unit - but it was not working very well and all this other provider would do is recommend a new 10,000 dollar unit be installed.

So, we got a second opinion. We called Modern Air Mechanical. A serviceman came out, went on the roof and opened the unit up. He took some photos with his cell phone so that we could see what the issue was. IT WAS FILTHY!!! There had some surface cleaning done - but not what we paid those other guys to do. The other guys lied to us!

The Service technician spent 2 1/2 hours taking apart and cleaning EVERY inch of this filthy unit. (the temperature was well over 100 degrees that day .In one place, under some other part that had to be removed to be cleaned properly, he found literally 4 inches of packed dust/dirt. It was blocking the air flow, and rendering this unit virtually useless.

After he cleaned the unit, he turned it on. Even before recharging, the air coming from the vents inside was 30 degrees cooler than before he cleaned it! He then completed the service, and it was the coldest air I have ever felt from this unit.

We use Modern Air for all of our Central Air needs. Won't

go anywhere else.

Oh, and when we asked if we needed a new one, like the other company was pushing? He said if we truly wanted to replace it, he would call his Sales team and set up an appointment. But really, this unit was still in fine shape.He told us he woud never presume to try and sell us something we really didn't need!

Prompt, professional, easy to work with, flexible on the payment, I would definitely use them again.

This is the second time I have used Modern Air. Both times they have been very professional in scheduling the appointments and the service people have shown up on time and neatly dressed. They put shoe covers on when entering the house. My HVAC unit is pretty old and I was expecting them to try to up-sell me to a new unit, but neither time did they do that. They performed the scheduled maintenance without any push to buy new products. When they checked the furnace filter this time, they told me it needed replacing and if I did that I should be good for another couple of years without further service.

The contractor identified that it was the thermostat and replaced it. It subsequently worked perfectly. He solved the problem while being courteous and professional and performed the service a reasonable price.

They have been in business a long time. They did an adequate job. They got the work done in a timely manner.

I have dealt with them for years and very comfortable with them. I think they are a little expensive, but their work was good and they were punctual. I also feel they can be trusted.

They did a great job. They were quick and cleaned up behind themselves.

We could not have asked for more responsive and excellent service, even under adverse circustances. Highly reccommend.

The call placed to Modern Air was as a second opinion for another company who quoted a price of 7900.00 to replace our 16 year old roof-mount unit.
This man was thorough, and inspected the unit. He asked my husband about what prior work had been done. He then asked if the unit had ever been deeply cleaned. We told him the other company claimed to have cleaned it. The serviceman advised it would cost more than a basic service call, and he could not guarantee that it would fix all of the issues, but did we want it to be deep cleaned? My husband said yes, and the serviceman took 1.5 hours to take the unit apart and clean all of the crusted and PLUGGED fins! He showed each step to my husband, explaining that it didn't look like it had ever been deep cleaned.
He put the unit back together, turned it on and the unit has been keeping this 1800 sq ft home cool ever since!!
My husband asked what his company would charge to replace the unit for this house. The serviceman replaied, and quot;I'm not allowed to even oiffer you a quote. If you'd like to have a salesman get in contact with you, I'll arrange it. However, your unit should last several more years.and quot;
