Description of Work: He was supposed to do various repairs around the house. He took on jobs too big for him to do that he said he knew how to do but he did not. He left all his projects half or less than half done. He promised to replace the linoleum in the kitchen without realizing that ceramic tile cannot be placed on the old backing but a new type of concrete base has to be installed. After ripping up the linoleum he disappeared, leaving that project a mess and leaving other projects that he had contracted to do unfinished (like refinishing a small hardwood floor area), or undone altogether (fence repair and garden clean-up work). Unfortunately, he knows how to act like he can be trusted, which he cannot. He said he needed the money for some of the work up-front. Since we had a signed contract and he had already done a good job repairing some hardwood doors and done some repainting, I gave him about $1,800 in anticipation of his finishing all the other projects. Big mistake.
