A G Hansen Plumbing

Art Hansen responded to an emergency call for help on a Sunday to stop a running toilet, that unbeknownst to me had been running non-stop for more than a week behind a closed door (ugh!).  Unfortunately, late the evening before, I discovered the water could not be shut off at the wall, as the knob was frozen in place, and so it needed to be turned off at the street, something I could not do.  My husband was out of the country and was not available by phone for consult, so I was on my own with a plumbing disaster --YIKES!  I knew I was going to be in over my head, in terms of knowing whether or not I'd be doing the right thing, since plumbing is a complete mystery to me.  I checked Yelp and found A. G. Plumbing and simply took a leap of faith by calling to ask a complete stranger to help me on a weekend, on the spur of the moment. 

Art Hansen, the company's owner, answered the phone right away (yay!), agreed to come at a time of my choosing, arrived promptly and got to work.  First, he called the water company to come out to turn the water off.  Then he diagnosed the problem inside the tank, which would require new parts the following day.  At first he thought he might need to pull the toilet to remove broken parts and install the new parts, because the tank lid is under a tile counter, but he did his very best to squeeze his large  arm between the rigid counter top and the tank itself to do the job.  Frankly, I don't know how he did it.  This no doubt saved money, as the job would have taken far more time, effort and money had he been required to remove the toilet from the floor.  I really appreciated his cost-cutting efforts and his unsolicited detailed account of every step he was taking to complete the repair.  Had my husband been interacting with him, he would have loved the thoroughness of Art's explanations, which he would have understood more easily than I could.  The bill for the services was very fair, and I was happy to pay it.  A. G. Hansen Plumbing will be our "go to" plumbing problem solver from now on.  It was a pleasure doing business with Art Hansen, and it is without hesitation that I recommend him to you.

He recommended a company to do some drying and prep of the area because it had been dripping behind the wall. Once that company was done he removed the pipe and repaired the leak. Then I had to have new drywall put on the Art of Hansen came back and put the dishwasher back in. I also had a problem at the same time with the upstairs toilet. I will use him again in the future.

He has done a lot of plumbing for me in the past. He picks up his calls all the time so he is generally available most times. I was on the phone with him a number of times before he came out so that I could shop for materials he would use when he came to fix the problems. He is a very nice man who is clean and detail oriented. I have other family members who also use him and I will use him again in the future. 

Mr Hansen called about 20 minutes before the scheduled time to let me know he would be arriving soon. He was actually a few minutes early (5 or so). 

HIs work installing the new facet system was technically excellent and efficient. He was well-equipped, worked quickly, and called the company that made the hardware when the stray function didn't work. He was careful to clean off the silicon cement at the base of the 3-part facet set and the separate spray facet.  His work style was very neat, and afterward, he dried the area under the sink and replacing everything (love a man that cleans up after himself!) 

When the spray facet stopped working the next week, he came back and fixed it  at no charge, even though it was hardware we purchased separately. Then he took additional phone calls from other family members about how to order a replacement part from the manufacture, as it appears that the hose or diverter on the spray facet is defective. 

All and all,  Mr. Hansen was very professional, competent, affordable and real pleasure to do business with.  I would recommend him without reservation.

He is careful, thorough, on time, and on budget. He is just the kind of person you would want to have working in your home. We have used them for years on a variety of plumbing jobs including installing a toilet. He is the best and the price is worth it to me for the excellent quality of the work.

I felt that Arthur was not easy to work with. He seemed condescending and impatient with me. Furthermore, it seems to me that there is a problem with the toilet repair. However, he said he would have to charge me for another service call, if he returned and decided there is nothing wrong. I feel this is unfair, if there is a problem with the product or the work. I have worked with other service providers, who considered it good customer service to make sure the customer was happy, without needing to re-charge them to take another look. Also, the amount charged was high in my opinion.
