Everything went well.  They are reliable, timely, and provide accurate estimates.  They do good work, too.

I had five different people come out to provide bids. During the bidding process this company came across very knowledgeable and competent. He stated he would work out the access issue by making contact with the neighbor. He was professional and did good work. He did everything he said he would do.

We were wary of other services in the area. This had to be done right, and Mike Davidsen, the owner, spent the better part of an hour discussing with us and his foreman how to proceed. He is not cheap. But after nearly a full day's work for 2 men and 2 units, a vast amount of the canopy (in excess of a ton of wood) was skillfully thinned, and the tree looks healthy, and shows no signs of having a haircut. Now the winds will go through it, not use the dense growth as a windsail. Unfortunately, after doing an excellent job, things deteriorated. That night we heard small branches dropping on the roof. By the next morning, we could see piles of tree litter on the roof and in the rain gutters. It was raining, so we cleaned up the mess, including stuff that had fallen into the neighbor's yard. This took about 2 hours plus disposal of the detritus. I had called Mike and left a message, but he never returned the call. We still owed $500, so I emailed him about the incident, and suggested that he knock off $50 for the cleanup. He did not respond, nor did he respond to a subsequent email. We finally mailed him a check for the full amount. So if you use this service, get an agreement in writing that he will complete the job, and don't pay the full price until you see that he does (remember, the damage came b/after/b the workers had left). All considered, I don't think he is trustworthy, despite the skill of the work.
